If the task comes to sneaking, Chris 114 will drop the biomass. While sneaking comes naturally to him from a few years' practice, rarely was he the lookout.
"Someone I know works at Central Freight's NY distribution hub. She's been talking about how a lot of fright has been picked up by private contractors with east european accents over the last few weeks, 40+ trucks worth. A couple of days ago she overheard two them saying they lost almost all of the last convoy heading upstate, she only remembered that because she hadn't heard anything on the truckers or highway patrol grapevines about any accidents or hijackings."
Chris will respond to the phone message, meeting up where instructed. Once there, he will also share the information he has uncovered, and see where that piece of the puzzle gets them all.
Since others have opted to try to get the fire bear to surrender, Subject 114 moves over to the ice barge, and attempts to render it incapable of transporting goods any longer.
dang i keep getting confused. i was gonna factor a -2 and a -5, but then i remembered i erroneously did that last time. sloooowly learning. M&M wasnt this complicated when last i played! (or more likely i was just playing wrong)
so if i understand correctly, they have an ice barge with crates on it, and that is what they are stealing? if so, my goals just shifted from attacking them to loss prevention
@Chris 114 - Sorry if my response came off as snappy.
i didnt think it was snappy. i did change to melee form when i moved to attack him, however i didnt explicitly state it (i thought i had). I would have had to change to that form to attack him with my failed armblade attack.
GM, when you ask for a resistance, could you say which kind to use? I'm still not sure. As near as i can tell, Liberteen either used Fort or Toughness.
resist:1d20 ⇒ 14
+10 if fortitude
+16 if impervious toughness
and as for my posted action, i was mostly aiming to puncture the ship's hull. do i feel like that worked?
sorry for my absence and the belated nature of this post, i lost an entire day to an MMO yesterday
init:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
As the crate flies towards them, Chris sees Liberteen's muscles flex as she tries to catch the crate.
use this for whichever happens:1d20 ⇒ 10
If she succeeds in catching it, Chris will immediately change to his ranged combat form, and use his Groundspike ability. As his form covers in biomass, he plunges his fists into the ground, locking himself in place. In the distance, from under the boat massive spikes of biomass erupt and attempt to puncture the hull.
Groundspike: Burst Area Damage 10 (DC 25; Burst Area: 30 feet radius sphere, DC 20, Increased Range: ranged, Indirect 4: any point, any direction, Penetrating 10; Distracting)
If she looks to be failing or struggling, Chris immediately shifts to his melee form and lends his strength to keep the young girl from being crushed. (STR 9)
Chris contacts his friends in the underground Connected advantage to "put his ear to the ground" and see if there is any real information out there that the news sources and officials aren't revealing.
Noting the cramped space, Chris retracts the swollen biomass and takes a seat, looking out a window or looking for a screen that displays the outside, or even some sort of information or map.
Chris answers questions as follows:
Why were you there: "why are you here?"
Prior knowledge: "did you?"
Name: "114"
when powers awoke: "before today"
what powers do: "kick ass"
subvert rule of law: "rightful? No."
[ooc]yeah, Chris isnt a CRIMINAL per se, but isnt a fan of cops. Having escaped from the lab run by what appeared to be possible government/authority figures, to be greeted by cops with guns drawn... not good. He isn't going to be taken alive unless another super tries to intervene. He isn't going to kill cops unless they are really trying to hurt him bad. He WILL destroy police property though.
but, unless they've got some serious and penetrating firepower, they aren't going to hurt him. He is in his melee form now.
and the girl was teleported aboard the ship i thought.
Chris can make another trip. If need be, he could make even more, as he can probably soak most damage that a SWAT team could do. However, he probably shouldn't be seen when transformed. In light of that, he will go back to his basic form right before cresting the lip of the sinkhole on his second trip.
