Dumb deaths.... I was playing a 5th level wizard. Flying over a battle, invisible. Saw a cluster of enemy with no allies so I fireballed them. Ended my invisibility, but I was a couple hundred feet up so no problem, right? Wrong. The fireball didn't drop ANY of them and they all had longbows. The return fire dropped me to.... -1 HP. So, unconscious I'm not flying anymore. And I didn't have anything giving me featherfall. Splat! The group did recover the equipment from my terribly mangled, chopped to pieces body. Some of it wasn't broken from the fall.

I laughed all the way through creating my replacement character, a witch! Played her all the way to level 20 when we retired the game.

I just recently learned Warhammer, and love it! (1st edition though) I need to find some more people that play it. Do you know if there is any play-by-post warhammer site? I was playing on discord with one group, but it died over the holidays and I haven't heard any word on if we will be starting back up.

LOL. My first character death was about an hour into the first ever game. My character was a cleric. I don't remember his name. In the first melee I hit a goblin in the chest with my mace. It died. I got hit by a rusty sword but survived. The fighter got hit twice and was almost dead. I cast my cure light wounds spell on him. He was in good shape so we continued. I got hit by an arrow in the next battle and died.... My next character was a really bad set of roles, a fighter with a strength of 10. That was the highest number. 2 hit points. He died quick.

Hi Dien! It's been a day. ;-)

My first year playing D&D (Yes, before it was advanced!) I had one character last more than one table-top session. He made it to 2nd level before he died horribly! But it was fun! More monsters died than characters. That said, it was simpler then. Character creation took a few minutes. Roll some dice. Scribble notes on your paper. You're ready to join the party and roll more dice. Some nights the 'big haul' was the salvaged equipment from the dead characters. Some nights everyone died and the next session was to investigate the deaths of the previous team. (And salvage their equipment.) When we finally got a cleric up to 9th level he was our most protected asset. He could raise dead!

Question for my level of amnesia.... Do we know what we look like?

Awe.... but she'd forget the slight!

Hello fellow amnesiacs.... I've never played a game with total memory loss before. Sounds like fun. Kind of like PreHysteria! Sadly I can't even find it online anymore. But if anyone would like the pdf I uploaded it here. All of 8 pages in pamphlet form, so a really detailed game. NOT! But good for a laugh with friends at a tabletop or with a few beers in comfortable chairs.

As I understand it, if/when we die we can just have a random NPC become our character. "Hey, I don't know that person, but I'm the real Charles. But call me Charlie. Charles is too formal." And, possibly you could change something in your build that didn't work quite the way you wanted? Of course that means you really have to try to remember what the replacement character doesn't know.

North Carolina currently. Planning to move to Boston soon. Not sure when. So Eastern Standard Time.

Thank you! And congratulation to the others selected.

Sounds good!

@DM Ray.

"Good News: I noticed that you could have either an additional Skill point or HP from Favored Class! (Unless of course if you're doing one of those fractionals and I just don't know it.)

I think that is because I chose the FCB of a human sorcerer to pick an extra cantrip. One spell known one, level below the maximum.

As to Chadali and the Devil in Grey? I like an interesting story. "You learn that you worship someone that not only do you not know, but neither does anyone around you." I love it!

"the harsh task of only choosing four"

Truth there. Any time there is a post of an interesting game there are 20+ posts from people wanting to play....

BTW, I re-read you NPC alignments stuff. Good review, and looking at it differently than I've usually seen. I've always hated the 'Lawful Good' being played as 'awful stupid'! In first edition it seemed like all a DM needed to do to kill a paladin was mention that there was an evil (fill in the blanks) so he'd go and suicide against it. Occasionally the party would follow in the footsteps though....
I chose neutral good. I think that's the best fit for how I see this character.

@DM Ray. The 2 points gained at each 5th level can be split and applied individually though, right?

CS "finished"....

Questions about languages/linguistics:
First: "Everyone starts with ‘Varisian’ plus one additional Language for free." Does Intelligence add to that? 16 Int normally allows 3. ??
Second: Is Sylvan a basic language costing 1/2 of a rank in Linguistics?
Third: Is Skald and Undercommon Sign Language OK for one rank in Linguistics?
Fourth: Any suggestions on other languages in the area?

LOL! One Magus and 3 sorcerers.... might need to have alternate options for all of us just so DM Ray doesn't have to exclude to not have a party of Magi.

Personally I love the Phoenix Blooded Sorcerer/Healer. I've seen it in action, really heavy-duty out of combat healing. No need for wands of CLW! Even at higher levels the power is good.

@Monkeygod: You want to play a deposed noble from Cheliax? with amnesia? That could be interesting when you start to remember who you are/were. Possibly not very popular with the rest of the group though if you decide that we are all your servants....

Yes! This is a Christmas Miracle!?!

@DM Ray: How about class skills? Since you have a slightly altered list. Do we just match up what skills are matched for our class? Example: Lore of Arcana INT for Knowledge Arcana ?

Great! That means I've got plenty of time to work up the CS. And I don't need to do the equipment.... All good!

Definitely sounds interesting. I was just thinking about a new character idea yesterday.

How about a Neutral Good, Human, Seeker (Archetype) Sage/Arcane bloodline Sorcerer?

Question: How about racial traits and alternates? Standard, or something else?

Note: I am currently in the early stages of a Carrion Crown game. Have never played any of the others mentioned.

Good luck everyone!

Hmm.... If you go that route that might be a significant change to my build. I have +12 to initiative.

I think I've got him finished, equipment, spells, skills, etc.

Short paragraph about why he might be hired at the end of the CS after a short history. He's ready for anything except a fight....

This is Lemming's Undine Wizard. Still need equipment but otherwise mostly done. Let me know if anything is wrong. I'm only human....
