Ceweldyn stifles a laugh at the almost comical sight. "What ho, Bogo," he says at last. "You will be taking your leave of us then?"

Now, let's not turn on one another," Ceweldyn states. "There is plenty of room for Corellon and whatever other deity you wish to acknowledge to co-exist. As for you, Quill, I, too, am an elf. Though if he is to continue being in the front, then perhaps he should be permitted to use the ring."

Ceweldyn attempts to identify the objects. He also unfurls the scroll. Spellcraft vs. sword: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

Sense Motive (untrained): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 Ceweldyn watches the creature go, wondering what it is thinking. "I hope he does not intend to ambush us later to get "his" treasure back." Turning to the pile of goodies, he asks, "Shall I make the effort to identify these things?"

Ceweldyn blinks twice at the sight of Bogo inserting the heartstone into his chest cavity. "Indeed, you would seem to be magical," he comments. Looking over the map, he remarks, "The treasure must be here." He beings searching the room. Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

Ceweldyn casts entangle at the elf's feet. This spell causes tall grass, weeds, and other plants to wrap around creatures in the area of effect or those that enter the area. Creatures that fail their save gain the entangled condition. Creatures that make their save can move as normal, but those that remain in the area must save again at the end of your turn. Creatures that move into the area must save immediately. Those that fail must end their movement and gain the entangled condition. Entangled creatures can attempt to break free as a move action, making a Strength or Escape Artist check. The DC for this check is equal to the DC of the spell. The entire area of effect is considered difficult terrain while the effect lasts. If the plants in the area are covered in thorns, those in the area take 1 point of damage each time they fail a save against the entangle or fail a check made to break free. Other effects, depending on the local plants, might be possible at GM discretion.

My apologies, but I am having a bit of a stressful week. A friend is being forced out of his house and I am helping him move and we have family visiting. Please GMPC as needed. If you are in one of my games, know that you are not forgotten and I will resume regular postings ASAP. Thank you.

I'm here; just waiting for something to happen. Ceweldyn remains vigilant, not particularly liking the eerie quiet. "Like a calm before the storm," he notes.

Still here. Just having a little trouble at home. Nothing big, but on occasion, it keeps me from posting as often as I would like.

Ceweldyn merely raises an eyebrow at Mungo's comment. "The heroic thing to do, I suppose, is to assist this Rashasia. Besides which, I feel a compulsion to aid one of my kinfolk." Heal (unskilled): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

"I am Ceweldyn," the blond elf intones evenly. "You will find that I have skills that will serve us well, no matter what mission we undertake. "And on that matter, I have no particular love of orcs. Beyond that, I suspect that there may be more to this 'simple delivery' than meets the eye. And can we be certain that the owner of this castle would allow us to make use of it having cleared it?" Turning to Caelmah, he gives a curt nod and speaks in the elven tongue. "Fáilte, deartháir. Táim ag súil go mbeidh orainn a lán rudaí a phlé le linn ár dturas." Elven: "Welcome, brother. I expect that we will have many things to discuss over the course of our journeys."

Ceweldyn raises an eyebrow at the violence, rises from his seat, and adjusts his chair so as to have a better view of the proceedings. No magic? That's what I do, he thinks to himself.
@Tribute: Dude, this is going to be epic! In my own campaign, magic items are things of wonder. Scrolls and potions are common enough, but if the characters find something truly magical, then it was made for someone by someone for some purpose. Bardic knowledge, identify, and legend lore are useful for finding out more about the item. Magical items are rare and wondrous and are seldom, if ever, sold (not that most merchants could afford to pay what they are worth). On the rare occasion that you might find a magical item for sale in a shop, it would be very expensive, even if the properties are unknown.
WhtKnt's submission is Ceweldyn, the elven druid. His full write-up is linked to the profile. Ceweldyn stands 6 feet and weighs 124 lbs. He has blonde hair and blue eyes that are unflinching in even the strongest sunlight. His demeanor is that of a proud elf and he can be condescending to other races, which tends to be off-putting. But his loyalty is unquestioned and, given the opportunity, he will forge unbreakable friendships. |
