It happens, it's all good!

Cerin opens the secret entrance to the maze with an exaggerated flourish. "Welcome to the graveyard! You might want to hold your breath, it's quite pungent in here. We probably should have buried or tossed the bodies over the cliff. I can only imagine what it will be like in the fortress itself; all those bodies in an enclosed space..."

He leads them in a roundabout path to the bridge, avoiding the majority of the bodies, and tests it before hurrying across to listen at the door to the fortress.

Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28

Cerin steps into the briar walls of the maze to scout out the area before anyone moves in, creeping through the thistles to peek out periodically until he reaches the bridge. If he finds nothing, he rushes back to signal the group.

Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28

Cerin holds up the shield for Gwyn's perusal. "It's enchanted, I'm sure it will be fine." he replies to Fluff's warning. A sly smile crosses his face. "It would be a good test, though. If it can stand up to Gwyn, then it should survive a battle!"

Cerin's eyes light up when he sees the shield. After setting down his old one, he takes the offered shield and straps it to his arm, testing the weight. "Savah, you always seem to have the perfect item! I'll take it. I don't suppose you have use for my old one? While a bit battered, it is quite finely made..."

He will buy the shield, and take any offer she might make for his old one.

"Savah, by any chance would you happen to have any enchanted shields available? This old thing is just about ready for the kindling pile!" Cerin holds up his much-battered shield with a wry grin.
"If not, perhaps you could do a few minor repairs and possibly direct me to someone in town who might be able to enchant it?" he continues with an arched eyebrow.

Sounds cool. If I wasn't already playing 7 pbf games...

Huzzah! I have missed this. I'm glad to have the opportunity to continue!

Thank you for running this, it has been a lot of fun! I hope things get easier for you, and I would be eager to play should you feel like continuing.

Cerin pulls down a tuft of his shaggy hair to look at the new color and smiles. "I haven't had this color before. Thanks!"

"As for calling you a kid, it was meant as a compliment. I had a daughter who would have been about your age now..." his smile fades as painful memories resurface, and he turns away to look at a suit of armor without really seeing it. His eyes glisten with tears but he wipes them away quickly before they are shed and composes himself.

"Ah, yes, we were discussing new weaponry!" he states, his customary smile back in place.

Cerin lets out an exaggerated sigh. "Gwyn, I expected you to have better sense - or at least better taste! - than this." A sly grin spreads across his face as he tries to keep himself from bursting out laughing.

Hopping around them, he strolls over to Savah and greets her warmly. "So good to see you again! Oh, never mind them, kids these days! Anything interesting come in while we were away?"

Gwyn said she did not want any gold.

The total should be 2,696 / 4= 674.

Does Orik want to switch out his +1 Banded Mail +1 for the +1 Breastplate? He would still have AC:22, but his ACP would be only -2/-3 with shield and he would move at his normal 30ft speed.

Is Gwyn going to get rid of her +1 Leather Armor? If so I will add it to the sell list.

I don't suppose anyone is interested in the Gutbite belt? It seems it is only useful if someone is going to be grappling.

Normally I would not think that goblins would have much chance to undo a complex demonic binding, but if it has been weakened..." Cerin shakes his head. "I am going to have to vote to investigate the demon at Thistletop, though we should prepare first!"

Does he have any idea from what he saw and read in Nualia's journal exactly what type of demon they are facing and what would be most effective against it?

Cerin pops the last bit of fruit into his mouth and chews as he looks at each of those gathered around the table in turn. When he finishes, he is grinning from ear to ear.

I have missed this! The camaraderie, the good-natured banter around the table, being with a group that cared for each other. Some friends had gone and others had just arrived, but he had a good feeling about this group.

He surreptitiously wipes some moisture from the corner of his eye and clears his throat. "So, what's first? Shopping, bar-hopping, hitting the beach, something else..?"

Cerin strides in the front door, still a bit damp from his early morning prayers down by the sea. "Good morning!" he calls out a bit too loud and cheery. "Did everyone have a good rest? Don't tell me Helena is still in bed, we should be out celebrating!" he continues as he hops up on a chair and starts loading up his plate with sausage, biscuits, cheese and fruit.

"Did i just hear someone mention the ghouls? Surely we can take at least one day off, have some fun, recover from our wounds and recharge before embarking on a new adventure!" he states before stuffing his mouth with food, looking back and forth between his companions while chewing noisily.

Cerin heeds Gwyn's advice and back up a bit before summoning a small thundercloud to stun the crawler.

As the Demonic figure falls, Cerin shifts back to his normal size and form and stares at her with pity. Upon seeing Gwyn crawl towards Nualia with her blade, he reaches out to place a hand on her shoulder.

"Gwyn," he says gently, "I know you want revenge right now, but pause a moment and think about it. She wasn't born this way, she was twisted by an unfortunate life. It could happen to anyone. I won't stop you if this is what you really want, but killing someone in battle is one thing, and murdering a helpless person in cold blood is another.
This will stay with you, trust me..."

The large bear stops in shock as Gwyn falls, a look of anguish on his face. He lumbers over to tend to her and huffs in relief as Helena's wave of healing energy washes over both of them. When Gwyn's eyes flutter open, he nods at her, then turns back to Nualia and charges her with an ear-shattering roar!

Cerin-bear drops down to all four legs and scoots down the stairs, trying to avoid the swinging blade above. Upon reaching the bottom of the dais, he lumbers forward and rises to his hind legs to roar in Nualia's face.

Total Defense (AC: 18), move next to Nualia. I can't adjust the map ATM.

Didn't Orik already succeed on a Will save? Once you save, you are no longer affected by the spell.

Lumbering to the other side of the dais, Cerin-bear climbs up the stairs and circles around to box Nualia into a corner. Huffing with derision at her feeble spell, he snaps at her to show her Lamashtu has no power over him.

Cerin: Your claw 1 is a critical threat. Please roll to confirm. You are correct that you don't get Grab: Your Wild Shape currently duplicates beast shape I. Grab isn't included until beast shape II, which your Wild Shape will allow when you're a druid 6.

I included the crit confirm roll at the bottom of my previous post. I don't think it confirmed with a 16, though...

Cerin ducks underneath the statue's swinging blade and charges toward Nualia, a snarl on his face. He starts to change as he moves, his tiny frame growing larger and more muscular. Black fur sprouts all over his body as his weapons and armor fade into his skin, his face elongates into a muzzle filled with sharp teeth, and huge razor claws burst from his fingertips. When he reaches the fallen aasimar, the huge black bear he has become roars in her face, ready to tear her apart!

Move action: 10ft south near Orik (can't adjust the map atm)
Standard action: wild shape into black bear.

What does it take to kill this thing? Cerin wonders as he continues slashing at the mutt. His spirits rise as he catches sight of Kyrian, and he breathes a quick sigh of relief as everyone comes to his aid.
