I'm stoned

Tomorrow, we'll be in uncharted territory!

We already are!

The small shadow continues to watch Arielle.

Off in the distance a small figure watches. He holds a gem to eye.

"No. This is not your usual woad."

"That shouldn't surprise me. Few things are with you." he adds with a smile

"Yes, Carl. I've changed a bit lately. If it's not too much a bother, I would like to use your workbench for a little bit."

Carl reaches out his hand a bit, as if to touch Ch'ack's arm, but pulls back.

"Certainly, my lord. Anything I have is at your disposal. I am glad that you were able to do without the Stone Magic. It is a dangerous thing to tempt Fate twice."

"Yes, may I help you good sir?"

The gnome starts as he looks into familiar green eyes.

Carl sighs as he surveys the aftermath of the destruction and his ever-opportunistic neighbors. The Stone Lords' visit so soon after the summoning of the augmented earth elemental boded for a very tenuos future. He tried to sing the song of melding to a diamond and sapphire necklace, but he could not coax the stones to go along with his vision. He sighed again.

"I know why you ask. I saw the battle. You cannot protect the god-child forever."

"I beg you. Please calm yourself, and think this thru. If you still wish it, I will return them to you."

JH seems to shrink a bit

"She is too young. There are too many enemies. The World-Splitter could keep her safe."

"And in the process destroy everything she has come to love since she was born..."

The omniportal flashes. JH strides thru and heads straight to a small shop set apart from the bustle and cries of the aftermath of the attack. He enters.

"Give them to me."

"My Lord, you said that I should never do that. No matter how many times you asked, no matter how hard you asked..."

The small gnome trembles visibly

"Give them to me..."

The gnome practically squeaks, "No! I will not!...my Lord"

Sorry, duty called yesterday.

The combined fury is too much of the earth elemental. Having its opposite brought into the conflict pushed the dreadnaught into self-destruction. Its mass quivers violently and explodes sending mud and water (not to mention a few heroes) across the Bazaar. The aura around Tristan ceases. He collapses to the floor unconscious clutching his gemstone. Allura does likewise. Arielle and Little Kiba however seem unaffected by this strange arcane event learned they possess greater abilities then they can imagine. Any powers they used cease immediately.

This portion of the Bazaar has been savaged. Cries and groans of agony sound out across the streets. An alarm for the Bazaar's Mamluks is heard and several disciples of Sunny Godhead quickly move to administer clerical aid. It seems some others will need more than simple miracles this day.

Any presence of Nailz however in this conflict is gone. No doubt, he will be back.

The small figure seems to be unfazed by the climax, or its aftermath. The figure shakes its head slowly then fades back into shadow and is gone.

From a doorway cloaked in shadow a small figure watches. He juggles gemstones in his right hand, seemingly unconcerned by the fury of the battle.

He seems to be listening intently.

LJ hugs JH as tightly as she can without letting go of Arielle, and he gets a few kisses as well. Happiness radiates from her and the Song emanating from her reflects that.

The crystal bird begins to sing along with the Song emanating from LJ, flying above the family in intricate circles. Its crystalline body flashes in the sunlight.

Arielle laughs with delight as the bird hops onto her hand. She loves listening to one of her favorite songs.

"So what are you going to name your new friend?"
"I think I'll call it Kanoni. That seems like a good name for a bird."

The bird flaps its wings excitedly, whistling strongly.

"There are few who know how to sing any Nature's songs. Someone put a lot of time into. I'm guessing whoever made this likes you a lot.

Arielle smiled. :Well, it was a very kind thing to do. And it's so pretty.: She reached out to gently touch the little bird.

The little bird hops onto Arielle's finger, changing its song to one of the sky. Its crystalline body has flecks of red, blue, and yellow mixed into clear. Its chest is the color of granite, but still crystalline.

Over the ancient forest a small light flies, heading straight for Arielle. As it draws near it is a small songbird made of crystals , the sunlight reflecting off of it in a rainbow of colors. Landing on a root near the girl the songbird begins to sing happily.

In his small shop hidden within the maze that is the bazaar the gnome stone singer has finished his gift for the daughter of the Stone Lord. He whispers a few ancient words in the language of the deep stone, and the object flies off.

Arielle wrote:

Arielle smiles broadly and clutches the star close. "Thank you so much." She sings along with the star for a moment before putting it into her bag.

"There are eleven stars left to find outside of the Dremalands, Daddy," she says seriously, looking up at JH.

"Daddy?"

"In that case young Princess you come by my shop some day soon and I will have another gift for you. Something almost as pretty as you."

He bows once again, to both Arielle and JH, and departs.

This is one of the 'shinies'?

Sure. You have 5 unaccounted, and who better than a gemologist to have one? Especially one that can sing stone into filaments?

A gnome with large glasses approaches the group and bows.

"Lord, is it safe to re-open my shop? The deep dwarves are still drinking to their fallen. But they drink to victory. The rest of us are getting back to work."

"Ahh, who is this pretty little angel? I have something special for pretty ladies today. Free to friends."

He holds out a small necklace of silver with a single small star upon it.

The strange metal golem sure didn't match his appearance. Expecting a brute, and getting a true patron as a customer. Very few indeed can discern the quality of his wares so quickly. And not care about the price. Some lady will be very lucky with these gifts. Perhaps two, as one request was so delicate and the other so powerful. It matters not, the golem's platinum was as pure as the order's specifications.

He sings to the stones as he begins his work.
