She retreats behind Tanith, not wanting to get surrounded and almost carved up like she was before!

Then she turns on the visible ankou to her right (blue ankou) and starts bombarding it with bombs!

New Discovery: Grand Mutagen
--The alchemist's mutagen now grants a +6 natural armor bonus, a +8 alchemical bonus to one ability score (Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution), a +6 alchemical bonus to a second physical ability score, and a +4 alchemical bonus to a third physical ability score. The alchemist takes a –2 penalty to his Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma as long as the mutagen persists. An alchemist must be at least 16th level and must possess the greater mutagen discovery before selecting this discovery.

Carina lets out a little yawn as she appears in the dream.

"...Lashonna?"

Carina winces.

"...kind of. Pre-reincarnation."

Carina checks her bombs.

"...I don't have a full complement..."

Carina holds up her hands. "Alright."

"Regardless, thank you for talking with me. It's... it's been enlightening." She stands up.

Carina folds her hands in her lap. "Even if that was the case, it's fairly clear that whatever happened is... unpleasant for you to remember. I didn't mean to dredge up bad memories, ma'am."

"I was just trying to offer some sympathy. And since you don't want to talk about it, I understand."

Carina pauses, trying to get a better read and decide how to best continue.

"I figured." Carina sighs.

"...the reason I asked... it's because I think I had something similar happen to me."

Carina lets out a breath.

"That's... um... thank you for sharing that. That's clearly something that's been bothering you for a long time." She replies, her tone shaking with restrained... emotion? Well, emotions. It's a tangle trying to spill out and being held back with mostly willpower and a prayer.

"You and... you know Mom? How do you know her?"

Carina sighs, her eyes starting to sting with tears. "...I don't know what to do next."

She looks at Sabir. "Mo--" She starts, the word catching in her throat and causing her to choke a little. "...Sabir..."

"...I know that I don't really know you. I never had a chance to. I know you fought against us--maybe even tried to kill one or two of us. You're here on the same mission we are, but you came here for different reasons... ones that are at cross-purposes with ours."

She takes a shuddering breath. "The thing is, I know you're a better person than this. You could have handed me over to the Ebon Triad when I was born--and Fharlanghn only knows what kind of person I'd have grown up to be, then. But you..." She swallows. A tear runs down her cheek. "...you didn't."

"I don't want you dead. I want to know you better--and... hells, I don't want Rin--" She winces at the name. "--to be without her mother."

"We can work this out... can't we?"

Carina watches, star-struck, as Tanith does what he does best--wrestle massive things to the ground and bury them.

A gleeful grin shows on her face as she turns to Sabir and points to him.

"I'm going to bear that man's children one day."

Carina steps up to Tanith as he rises from his prayer and kisses him on the lips.

"For luck."

Carina finishes her extract of cure serious wounds and hands it off to Krekie.

Then she joins the others on the beach.

"...I second Eben. Krekie doesn't deserve that kind of fate."

"Though he is pretty powerful... and it doesn't look like he exerted himself that much in the fight. If we do this, we do this hard and fast."

Carina focuses more on making sure Sabir isn't going to die before looking over at Krekie.

Noting the kenku's grievous injuries, she starts brewing an extract to heal some of the worst ones.

Using this time to brew an extract of cure serious wounds.

Carina doesn't give the fleeing Rin much of a glance--she instead races over to the smoking body of Sabir and produces her extract of breath of life, injecting it into her.

"Oh please oh please work please work please work..." She whispers to herself, her heart pounding.

Honestly, in the moment Carina's terrified of what just happened to Sabir, and is probably going to do something to try to save her. If nothing else, she DID keep Carina's existence a secret from her masters since she was born...

Carina's eyes widen in horror as Farrukh first sets upon Sabir...

...and she lets out an even more horrified scream as Krathanos calls meteors of power down from the skies.

She stares at Sabir's body, her face almost completely white.

Switching targets to the nearest displacer beast then, since Malhazar is no longer a threat.

Carina plucks several divinely-empowered bombs from her bandolier and starts throwing them at Malhazar!

"NO! NOT AGAIN!" She screams.

And hurls it at the Duke...

...or, rather, at the churning winds surrounding him.

It sails right into the midst of the howling gales--and it EXPLODES.

Zyrxog's mind blast drives any semblance of focus from Carina's head. There's only a searing migraine.

Carina lets out a gasp of surprise when the horned devil suddenly materializes before her and Tanith.

She grumbles, prays her displacement spell will help keep her safe, and proceeds to bombard the devil with holy bombs!

Carina rather easily manages to avoid catching fire, twisting her body in every which way to negate the worst of it.

Still trying to process the fact that their attempts at negotiation with a mentally unstable, nigh-psychotic titan were successful, Carina goes about preparing her usual complement of self-buffs.

Mutagen, False Life, Shield, Communal Stoneskin on everyone.

Carina looks between the others with confusion bordering on panic.

"Yes, that would be what they're after." Carina nods, rather unfazed.

Carina sighs.

"Sir, none of us are foolish enough to try and talk down to a being of your power and presence." She shakes her head. "I mean, the size difference alone would be enough of an incentive to not do so."
