Ah, I finally got a chance to look at the map. The Lower Map keeps making me have to actually download it to look at it, which I can't do at work. Cardon can get close enough to Allyph to help.

There's just nothing he can do against these spiders. He only hits them on a 20, and otherwise takes up space and blocks access to the spiders for those who can actually do something.

Cardon moves close enough so that his light can help everybody, and otherwise delays.

Cardon steps forward to K21 and throws his bladed scarf at Giggles, which suddenly takes on a life of its own and darts across the space.

The scarf flies back into Cardon's hand as the half-orc slumps to the ground.

Cardon shies away from the dog and men, only having to half-pretend to be frightened. He lets the sweat running down his face double for tears.

"Please, sir. I'm sorry. Don't let him eat me! I didn't mean to snoop, sir honest. I...I just saw the light, and it looked so warm inside, and maybe you had some food. I gots to look after my little brothers, sir. They're hungry."

Cardon glances back at the abandoned building with the rest of their team, then quickly forces himself not to look there.

Cardon fingers one of his scarves, casting a spell. Suddenly, he seems to shrink in height and breadth, and his features soften to resemble a human boy of 12. "Cover me, but let me try something," he whispers, making his voice squeak slightly and dashes forward to M19 and badly hides behind that barrel. He starts sobbing and shivering.

But instead of calling you back, Allyph got restless and came out here."

"I can cast that, too, or at least I used to. I should tell you folks that my Acadamae spells don't seem to be working for me at the moment. I suspect interference from those damned cards draining my arcane reservoir. Rest assured, I have plenty of other tricks I can bring to bear, but if you're expecting me to annihilate everybody with balls of fire, you're going to be waiting a long time."

I think if we have to run anywhere, we'd be better off disappearing into the slums than trying to handle an unfamiliar sailing vessel."

Cardon leaps out of his chair as the huge man bursts into the building. With a click, his wand is in his hand, and with a quick motion, he hurls a bolt of arcane death at the man...at least, he tries to. In reality, the wand just fizzles and sparks and does nothing.

Cardon looks even greener than before. Once it's clear they aren't being attacked, he forces the wand back into its hiding place with a bit of extra force and slumps back in his chair.

Carson's eyes widen, and he quickly sheathes his wand up his sleeve with a click and pulls a harrow card from his coat pocket, staring at it intently.
