Wouldn't you hurt your hand doing that? They all wear iron masks.

Not if you wear a spiked Gauntlet. HEH. HEH. HEH.

is there an easierway to get the "retirement" updates, other than Trolling the message boards ?
Could they be sent in one of the relavent product emails ?
Just a thought.

there are some quizzes that are supposed to do just that, but what we are seeing is that people disagree wildly on what those letters stand for...

I could not agree with you more on this statement. I think Alignment's real problem is that it isn't given the "Psych 101" section that I personally feel that it deserves in the book that says:

"Hello game master and players. When we talk about Lawful persons, we aren't talking about the laws of men. We're talking about structure and orderly behaviors. Does your character have an obsessive compulsive disorder? That's a lawful trait. That's why we said monks should be lawful, because they have such strict self discipline to master their own bodies and minds. On the other hand, maybe that same character is also emotionally driven, and trusts their instincts over a set of accepted rules and behaviors as much as possible. That's a chaotic trait, and we thought it was necessary that Barbarians not stray too far from this and become lawfully aligned. Take a look at your personality traits according to the table below, and compile your scores to see whether your character has a strong enough tendency in any one direction to possess that alignment."

People are still going to disagree, but I think we would have fewer disagreements if the game designers devoted a section to alignment to discuss what their intention was and to get people on the same page. People will still say "I don't like that" but so many more will go "Ah, I see where you guys are coming from."

HUZZAH !!!!!

Ryan thnks for another well written post .

HEY FOLKS! The alignments are GUIDLINES and can Change depending on how the Charater acts/reacts in the game .
EX. 1st level PC may start as LG, but if he continually attacks the townspeople "because he can", he becomes LE or maybe CE.
Same PC starts as CN, but is always defending the helpless and trying to change the laws to protect the "little man" should become LN or even LG.

So to do away with alingment just because you find it "constricting" is not as helpful as you might think.
I have in several games told the players thst they were playing the wrong alingment and if the PC continued to act this way the alingment would change.

Alignment is a GREAT tool for beginners as they have an idea to base thier char. actions on, if you want to be like Conan play GC Barb.,
If you want to emulate King Arthur play LG Pal. etc.

Most alignments can be Condensed into a paragraph or two. which I think is the point of an alingment to give you a starting point to play the PC from , NOT to limit his actions to those that a person of ___ alingment would do.

Will the official book have more of a background on the planar connection between summoner & E?

As in how they first contact He/She /It?

Wow Monty is writing a pathfinder adventure.
My thoughts exactly... Go Monte! When something written by him is billed as "innovative" or "unforgettable", I can easily believe that! :)

I concur although using those words inthe same sentance as Monte Cook, is a bit redundant.

The removal of the Heavy Armor Prof. from Clerics

As an aside I dislike the removal of the bonus skill and weapon profs. that Humans had in Alpha and Beta.

Played this @ Anonycon 08 and it was awesome! As this was my first Mod @ my first con consider this a rave review.

Thanks much, all. It's good to see a supportive community. I have a couple of interested players; what do you think is a good number of players? Do most of the scenarios hanlde 4-6 w/out issue?
Yeah, if you're playing the games officially, meaning reporting them and following all the rules outlined in the GtPFSOP, then 6 is better than 4. The party will be more likely to survive the tougher scenarios and their character wealth/experience won't be affected by having a larger party because it's all been simplified.

I recommend that you have no less than 5 players due to combat opponent #s and GP scarceity so the gruop wil get as much GP as possible to buy items with.

I don't know if this is "fly in the ointment " stuff or not but so far I have gleened two useful pieces of info.

1) 1st level should be over sooner i.e. "intro mods".

2)gold should be SLIGHTLY more controlled : if you want to have a gold "ceiling" you need a gold "floor" because if you have players at higher levels, who meet in a pickup game (usually in con only scenarios) they are more likely to give up individual rewards , if they know they will get SOMETHING out of the mods

on a relavent subject but not wholly germaine to the thread, why not give low level characters all the gold for a module, if they manage top avoid or negotiate an obstacle instead of killing or beating up a NPC?

in the 2 modules I have expierenced the group lost gold for NOT beating up a NPC, and in another they lost gold for talking the info out of a NPC insead of fighting.

A common joke. All but Andorans tend to joke (?) about how Andoran is just one big sewer. Hey, it's a chance for my Taldan halfling to befriend at least some of the Chelish pathfinders ... I know, impossible anyway. :)

That's ridiculous. Why would Taldor insult one of its own provinces -- namely the province of Andoran? And why wouldn't a Taldan get along with residents of another of its provinces -- namely the province of Cheliax? They should be treated as wayward (if rather slow) children and they should be gently encouraged to think and behave properly.

Now those Osirians and Qadirans, on the other hand...

I heartily agree with you brother ! It is goodwill not confrontation that will reunite the Empire. while those backward , reckless, and corse peoples...(read Osiria and Qadira) pretend at civilisation but bring only havoc.

One of my PCs is a Favored Soul of Boccob. But he's been stating that he's only paying lip service to him. I find this to be a cop out and unrealistic. Would a deity allow you to be powered up by their divine energy and yet be insincere?

I say NO. Am I being unfair? Should this character be an Ur-priest or something else? I find that obtaining divine magic without worshipping and being faithful to a god (or gods) to be a cop out.

Educate me. Am I being unreasonable here?

ABSOLULY NOT!!! I would strip the char of his Favored Soul powers , just like a Paladin or Cleric would have happen if they perform an act against thier faith.

tell the Player he can run an UR-Priest (maybe) or just take away the Fav. Soul powers and spells, and tell him to choose another class as he advances.
