Guys, I am very sorry but I'm going to have to bow out of the game. There has been a lot of things going on in my life lately and I haven't been able to commit to the game as I should. So rather than continue to drag you down I'd like to offer my spot to someone that can make a more meaningful contribution.

I am so very grateful and honoured to have had this opportunity and it's always a pleasure gaming with you guys, but for now I'm hard pressed to keep my own games updated. I am sorry to have to give up this early in the game but sometime you have to opt for the lesser evil. I wish you all the very best.

Cabe is unable to look at Sara. The insight that he will never be a proper Trunau citizen strikes him hard. Or maybe, he ponders bitterly, this is one of those half-orc things that he will never quite fathom, being only a puny human. He remains silent, just nodding to affirm Elisen's and Falric's conclusion.

Cabe flushes as he hears the man's words about half-orcs. "No, no brothers or such. Why do you ask?" he mutters in a throaty voice.

In an aside to the others he mutters under his breath: I have no magic to put his head straight. Do you think you can handle him?

After the guards have left Cabe will channel again to take care of the rest of the damage. He looks pensive and worried. Something real special - after what he had already done, this must be really bad.

Cabe grabs some clothes and tries to get decent before joining his friends downstairs. He tries to use his anger and bulk to reinforce Morti's message. "Your friend was right; you should have killed the priest. We know a thing or two about anatomy, so I'll make sure it hurts when he hits you.

Cabe curses and reaches for his holy symbol, releasing a burst of healing energy, healing himself and the two dwarves and excluding the wounded half-orcs. Channeling: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Assuming he is conscious, Cabe desperately tries to fend off his attacker long enough to heal himself (converting Remove Fear).

However, his spell fizzles.

Cabe will try to see if the swords are anything more than generic swords, in case there is a clue in their design. Other than that, he's all for calling it a night.

Cabe looks worried too, chilled to the bone at the thought of possibly having worked shoulder to shoulder with a murderer or worse. He had noticed the crossed swords before but not thought much about it. Symbolology was never his strong suit.

Cabe looks like he's hoping for the earth to open up and swallow him. "Oh, I'm so sorry, Sara. I just didn't want to drag you into all this. It looks like very foul play is afoot and we do believe that Rodrik was murdered. We need to find Urnsul to get some answers from her, but if you know anything that might help us, we're very grateful. Whoever killed Rodrik may have even worse things planned.

Cabe tries to suppress a blush as words come tumbling out of his mouth in no particular order. "Not customers I'm afraid, at least not at the moment. I did hear the news, yeah. Awful thing, really. We promised Brinya to find out what happened. We'd like to talk to Urnsul. Maybe we could swing by her place and rouse her if she's slept in."

"I should take a look at that ankle but that will take some time. It seems that bad things are afoot so maybe we should proceed before that alchemist scum gets there before us."

Cabe moves 20 feet towards the wolves and draws his warhammer.

Hearing about such a sad love story makes Cabe feel like he is being pummeled in the stomach. Sara obviously has a lot to explain here. And could it be possible that this lass unwittingly sent Rodrik to his death, causing him to take a foolish risk? Cabe stiffens, at a loss for words. Slowly he says: "No, Brinya. He is dead because someone murdered him. We will find out who did this, and then we will avenge him. This I vow."

"No, Kurst, I don't think Brinya is involved but she needs to know. And we need to piece together all the information we can get. But I agree with my companions here; the other investigations can wait.

Cabe's voice is thick. "Of course we'll help. Let's talk to Brinya.

Cabe twists in discomfort. "Yea, I'm also in favor of leaving the notes. Not that I trust anyone after this. Something bad is going on, even worse than this murder, and I can't make heads or tails of it."

Cabe turns almost as pale as Rodrik, thinking about his own last words to the watchman. He mumbles a silent prayer to speed the dead man on to the Boneyard, and kneels down reverently to examine the corpse for any more clues that might be there, like how long he has been dead.

"He didn't do this to himself. Not the Rodrik I knew. But why?"

Cabe is happy to have an excuse to leave town for a while, uncomfortable with the notoriety that is sure to follow this exhibition.

Cabe mutters a prayer to Torag and pulls with all his might, ignoring the pain. He's thankful for his calloused hands.

Not one to shirk taking one for the team, Cabe accepts the front place. He casts a nervous glance down into the pit and then shrugs, readying himself to pull for his life.
