Bugsby runs forward to the man and crouches on all four legs.

Are you okay sir? What happened to you? Was it those stupid purists?

He looks the man over, unsure what to do.

Bugsby has no particular healing skill, unless that's just something everyone gets. On a related note, do we regain HP for our night of rest?

"As far as names go, people call me Bugsby. That's not my real name, though. Adny and Glickly and I have to find our real names. That's part of our quest, too. Usually that would be our whole quest, but the famine needs a solution."

Combat-wise Bugsby mainly is a meat shield. High AC and decent HP. Unfortunately his melee capability is not awesome, and I've come to realize that I should have taken a bow. I'm still re-learning how this game works.

We did have a watch cycle, but two characters have gone and two more appeared.

I will post in the gameplay thread this afternoon.

Bugsby's grief and fear have worn away some of his normal cheerful nature, but he makes no threats nor move to ready weapons.

Bugsby, regaining some confidence, takes another swipe at the knight who hit him.

"Ow. OUCH!" Bugsby flinches back from the ferocity of the knight's attacks, then retaliates.

"Hahahaha! None of you can hurt me! I'm going to marry your daughters! Your grandchildren will be bugs!" Bugsby continues to taunt the knights, hoping to draw their attacks. He swings his sword at the one he hit last round.

Bugsby draws his sword and sends it telekinetically at the lead rider.

"Guys! This cat-guy is talking in my brain!" He looks at Deyemi "Do I talk to you or should I think at you? Are you okay? I don't think I'd taste very good, anyways! What happened here?"

"Uhhh... That's not cool. That's not cool at all! What happened to these people?"

Bugsby looks for clues, but tries to avoid looking too closely at the charred bodies.

"Woah..." Says Bugsby, leaving his mouth hanging open for a moment. "I wonder if the skyfire did that. Let's go check it out!"

He trots ahead, heeedless of outpacing his companions, scanning the burnt strip for signs of what might have caused the devastation.

"It's so cool..."

Before setting out, Bugsby looks for a good, high vantage point and tries to see as far ahead along the Oad as possible. As they make their way south, he will occasionally slip off to a nearby hill to get a quick look ahead.

"We should set up our camp uphill from the Oad so we can see anyone confirm ng sooner."

Once everything is set up, Bugsby will try to summon some small game again.

Bugsby joins in the stories, and sings a song his parents taught him from the ancients.

I only want to keep you sheltered from the yellow rain.

He also periodically checks the tent to see if there are any leaks developing. If the rain let's up, he will slip out and check the outside of the tent.

"I say we set up the tent. Worst case, we use the shovel as a centre pole and weigh down the corners, but with even a few sticks we can stake it better. If there are any trees to tie it to, we are set!"

Bugsby sets about figuring the best configuration for the tent in the current area.

Is one of my stat bonuses applied to swim, or is it just a straight roll? I could only find info about drowning after extended swimming.

"Let's bundle our gear up in the big tarp. We can swim across holding the rope, except whoever goes last can untie the end and tie it to the bundle, and everyone else can pull them across. I volunteer to go last, unless someone else really wants to. I'm a pretty good swimmer."

Bugsby starts bundling up everything in the big boss,.making it as waterproof as possible.

I am working on the understanding that we can't stop Adney and the rope from going in the river. If the Dex check means we can brace and pull, I would do that instead.

As soon as Bugsby realizes that there is no way to prevent Adney from falling he lets go of the rope. He runs to the bank and starts throwing g off gear, getting ready to jump in if Adney needs help.

I don't have any idea how much Glickly can lift, but given that I have four legs and a shell, with gear I imagine I'm close to 300 pounds. So maybe we'll go around...

Bugsby looks surprised, then understanding dawns on his face. "You mean with my invisible hand? No, I can only lift small objects. I could piggyback you, but I don't think that would be safer."

"If the center support on the bridge is holding, I think we should just be able to cross in the middle. Or we could just walk along the west bank of the river to the next crossing and we should be back on the road."

"Maybe one of us could go across with a rope ties to them to see if it's safe, then we have a rope handrail if they make it, or we all pull them up if they fall. I'd do it, but I think I'd be better bracing the rope."

"I'm sure we'll have better luck eventually. Not all of the animals everywhere can be gone."

Bugsby whistles cheerfully as he helps pack up the camp, and hefts his load.

"Be nice if we had a cart or something to carry this stuff. Still, it's easy walking on the Oad!"

"We should use the big animal hide as a shelter. Who is carrying that? I don't mind setting it up! Also we should dig a latrine a little ways away from the fire. I have the shovel."

Once camp is set up, Bugsby spends a bit of time trying to summon whatever local prey animals that normally might respond (something similar to a rabbit or a groundhog). He will also k3ep a lookout for birds suitable for eating, and try summoning those.

"I volunteer for third watch!"

In the morning, Bugsby will again try summoning some small game.

Bugsby looks at the alter and bows solemnly. His beads lift off his neck and over his head, floating to the alter. As soon as they land, Bugsby straightens back up.

"Woohoooo!" He cheers as he does a funny little four-legged dance.

Bugsby takes a short sword, which he waves around telekinetically. He uses the dagger to mock-fight with the floating sword.

"I can carry one of the ropes and the shovel" he offers, smiling.

I don't know about you guys, but I am super excited! I really want my adult name. I mean, I don't look that much like a bug! And I can't wait to get somewhere where maybe I can call for animals again. Lately I can't even get a rat to show up! I hope the berries taste good. Sometimes berries can be sour, and I don't like that, but a nice sweet juicy berry is the best thing ever! My parents took me to see the great oad one time it was pretty cool. Have any of you been to the great oad? I can't believe we are going past it! That's so far! Can I see that map? So cool!

Bugsby chatters on, largely oblivious to whether anyone is actually listening.

Bugsby has four legs and a chitinous shell. In spite of being a chatterbox in the village, he is known for his uncanny hunting abilities.
