My ring allows me to move and attack in the water, and the Sihedron can change any of us into sharks. So I can work in the water. There is a stone in this batch that allows people to survive without air. But there is only one, so we need something to let whoever doesn’t have the stone breathe. But I am not great at swimming, so something that lets me swim better would be most welcome.
Bad very Bad. Greregof shakes his head but can't stop a smile.
Father Keil and Mr. Spugnoir, you two are probably the ones best able to tell us what you can do to aid us with dealing with the water, so I'm guessing we need you to start on the plan.

As suggested after the first attack Grergof send the Sihedron to whoever is getting Full Attacked (if not him). Assuming of course it actually gets a second round. :)
Ahh, so someone could stumble into this Fiend. Ok then we should remove it. I am not as blessed against demons as the living dead, but I can still hold my own.
I think I used up every favor I have to keep me from dying. But other than that and the memory of being extremely beat up, I could probably take on another fight. Just be ready to heal me if I take a ton of hits again.
I was actually going to talk about the demon when we were finished here. If it is still bound to the room forever, I have no problem leaving it as it can’t do any harm, as nobody can get there without the Sihedron and we are keeping that. Better than it being free to tempt beings when back loose in the planes.
Now if it is free we need to remove it from the Plane.
Grergof walks over and drops the key in his Hand Haversack.
We can decide what to do with this later, but for now let’s not leave this laying around.
Are you all sure that Xin will not come back? Also did you figure anything about the the crystal?
He looks over the rest of the crushed construct.
Does anyone want these rods or know what the any of this other stuff does?
Well technically he is the Savior of Magnimar and Ustalav. Although if you hate that gloomy country so much, I guess you could leave that off the resume.
How much damage was there in the city. A few buildings in the waterfront…. I believe we stopped the rest. Did I miss some? If so we should go there and help them rebuild. And yes a handful of golems could be quite useful for that.
Honest question, I don’t remember much after we stopped the tital wave with a miracle, killed the creature in the sea and took out the constructs in the first couple blocks.
Oh ya A and B don’t match at all. Still debating on weapons:
A is if I stick with a rapier as those should be pretty common. That would combine with Canny Tumble to make multiple sneak attacks possible but very dangerous.
B is my thought on how I can use that combat reflexes feat I have to pick up if I’m going Shadowdancer. Plus I can stand behind our smash face dwarf in an hallway and still attack.
Oh boy: then I need to ask permission for a ton of stuff:
Can I use any or all of the following in my build:
1) From Pathfinder Unchained Unchained Rogue class
2) From Melee Tactics Toolbox :
A) Feat: Circling Mongoose
B) the weapon: Elven Branched Spear and the Feat Phalanx Formation
C) Feat: Press to the Wall
3) From Adventures Armory: TraitHeirloom Weapon
4) From Advanced Race Guide: either of the following Alternate Racal Traits Envoy or Silent hunter. Both can be found in the middle of the Elf entry.
Obviously feel free to say yes or no on each different item. These are all just options I’m throwing around in my head.
Ahh ok, that makes sense.
Well then If I need to talk, I may need to rethink where I was going personality wise. Unless Ythiel or Andrea1 you want to be the party face?
Grergof responds to Ardan ‘s comments about bards
I suppose this story will need to come out to let the city know what happens so they feel safe. But I’m not a hero. Every one of you did and Father Redgrave did the hard work of figuring this all out. I just can hit things, so I shouldn’t be the hero. It should be you all.
Then later when talking about mansions he says to Spugnoir:
I can think of no better master for Schloss Caromarc. That should make a wonderful lab!
For me, I have an empty teaching post I should return to. Now If the world is safe, I think I can train more knights on how to fight quite well given all our experience
He looks back at the destroyed construct:
Of course I may need to get a merciful weapon to make Sure I don’t hurt the novices.
But don’t we need to worry about the construct army?
Grergof takes the first critical hit which tears deep through his armor.
first hit is 132 - 5 from DR or 126 + 1 fire - leaving me at 11 hit points. Second hit does 29 - 5 from DR or 24 + 2 Fire leaving me at - 15 HP
But his divine a patron wont’t let him fall.
Immediate action to trigger Hero’s Defiance Hero’s Defiance + GM:8d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 1, 3, 1, 2, 4, 6) + (6) = 30
It keeps him up but not in great shape.
15 HP when he takes the next hit dropping him to - 13 the next hit drops him
1 point from death. Ohh just realized I missed my staggered mercy. I could have full attacked last turn :(
The final Crit kills him
But the Sihedron has other things to say about this.
True Resurrection
Leaving him standing better then he was before as his Constitution comes back.
back to max 155 HP when the Rend happens. That’s 42 damage leaving Grergof at 103
Fast Healing 5 brings HP up to 108
Grergof opens with his flail
5 Heavy Flail + HF + H + S:1d20 + 31 + 1 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 31 + 1 + 1 + 4 = 48 Damage:2d6 + 18 ⇒ (6, 2) + 18 = 26 20% Miss:1d100 ⇒ 17
Then Grergof sends the Sihedron to Abomentolor.
Mr Goblinburner you seem to be having trouble, maybe this can help Healing:2d8 + 19 ⇒ (7, 1) + 19 = 27 ends at 135/155 HP
Ok, going back to the next campaign....
What we have so far:
Andrea1 - Dwarf Patrolman - Tank
Ythiel - Dwarf Cleric - Divine
ScrubKai - Elven Rogue - Skill
Pad300 - ??? - Arcane?
??? - ??? - Wildcard - Do we want a 5th character?
Foxy -
Should we be using the CotCT Campaign Traits for these characters?
Are these going to be 20 Point buy Characters?
Any other restrictions we should consider as we come up with character concepts?
Grergof focuses and stops his vision from spinning. As his wounds heals he smashes at Xin again with a single large overhead smash.
only single Action due to Staggered so Vital Strike.
Back to full health and no conditions except -1 Con
As he recovers from his strike Grergof comments to his companions:
Odd that he doesn't seem to be evil given how evil all his apprentices turned out to be. In life he must have been a terrible judge of character.
What is the 1d6 for each attack?
Grergof get pummeled by Xin.
Ok 1 con drain drops HP to 127/138 then take 66 damage from the three hits after the DR 5/Evil leaving Grergof at 61/138 HP. — oh and I’m staggered. Ouch
It’s the last fight, and Arden is doing all the rolling. Unless Foxy complains I don’t see a problem with pulling out all the stops.
This is supposed to be the epic capstone fight with a literal legend after all.
That said in general, I would agree with you if this was a regular tactic, just for the speed of the game.
I’m hearing lots of dwarves with darkvision…. Any chance we are looking at a semi stealthy party? (SWAT/Special Forces).
Or will this be more of the dwarves phalanx that waves of enemies crash on but never moves? (Dwarven Defenders)
Of course we could have one Human female bard followed by a bunch of dwarves…
Hi ho…. Hi ho it’s off to slay we go!……
I played a cleric in my last CotCT campaign, so I’d prefer not to do that again in this one so I have less chance of mixing up the two stories in my head.
@Grergof, please keep track of your damage visibly; I want to know if I need to heal you...
Since they hit, I’ve now updated my stat line like normal. But with my lay on hands it’s not too often I need outside healing. That said there is a lot focused on me this fight.
you need to roll miss chances on the sword strikes. I’m assuming the blood also would need to roll as it’s a physical attack as it made a touch roll? Will if it hits:1d20 + 20 ⇒ (12) + 20 = 32
Axiomite 3 miss from blink 20%:1d100 ⇒ 53 Ok with DR that is 21 damage, then I fast heal 5. How many Temp HP did we get from Hero’s Feast? Hero’s Feast temp HP:1d8 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Holy Atua defend them. I have the leader!
Then Grergof offers a quick prayer for Divine Grace and the blinks right through the Axiomite before him before striding over and smashing at Xin with a single powerful strike with his flail.
Swift action cast Grace so I provoke no AoO from movement this round. Move Action to blink through the enemies then move next to Xin with my hasted movement speed. Standard action to do Vital Strike
I’ve played the first couple books of CotCT and loved them. I really wanted to continue but I think the game has died.
I’d be excited to play that again (and continue on) if Foxy you don’t mind that I might remember some spoilers out of character. I really wanted to see where that story went.
Plus Urban stories can be so much more fun to roleplay the just being murder hobos.
Foxy I agree with your thoughts on both Skull and Shackles and Giantslayer. Both didn’t really thrill me (although I think it was my fault the S&S game fell apart. I just wasn’t feeling the forced marriage plot.). Iron Gods is the only other one on that list I would be leery about doing, as I’m not huge on science fantasy. But I’ll trust you all if You say IG is good as I know zero about it.
Foxy just wondering. Since this AP appears close to being over…. Are you thinking of starting anything new after this ends?
If you are I would probably be interested in joining…. But would need time to prep if you were changing systems or something.
Grergof takes the blink from Abomentolor and sets the Sihedron to his favorite setting of Generosity.
Do the Axiomites need to make a roll a 50% miss chance for blink?
Also what is the distance here to Xin and or the other creatures? Obviously the Axiomites are next to me.
Since this looks like it will be a fight, I'll take Shield and Enlarge person please Mr. Spugnoir
When they are ready to leave Grergof sets his fail to glowing and casts his full set of buffs on himself. (Veil of Positive Energy, Effortless Armor, Deadly Juggernaut, and Bright Blade of Victory, plus the two extracts - this makes his Flail become a Large Holy Ghost Touch Adamantine Heavy Fail + 5 and his AC 30 and DR 5/Evil or 3 Adamantine and AC 32 VS Undead
Flail Stat lines for future reference:
no power attack +31/+26/+21/+16 (Crit 17-20) Damage 2d8 + 18 + 2d6 if evil. power attack +26/+21/+16/+11 (Crit 17-20) Damage 2d8 + 18 + 10 + 2d6 if evil. Smite power attack +31/+26/+21/+16 (Crit 17-20) Damage 2d8 + 18 + 10 + 17 + 2d6 Undead Smite +36/+31/+26/+21 (Crit 17-20) Damage 2d8 + 18 + 34 + 2d6
