Awn's lips purse and eyebrows rise in appreciation of the concept as outlined by Jen and Guthruc.

"I admit I had not considered the military value of our waterways. We feed them, they fight. They eat, they serve. We kill, they eat. I think it benefits us all..."

Male Woodborn Seer 4; HP 31/31; AC 19/T15/FF 17; Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; Init +6; Per +11; Spd 30 ft. CMB +5, CMD 17

Awn looks at them doubtfully.

"I have little faith that they are interested in contributing meaningfully to a confederated kingdom of sentient creatures. I think they eat, reproduce and die. Locally. I'm not sure that extends to travelling, nor joining in...anything beyond that.

He looks up at his companions.

"What do you think?"

That looks great Iorskan.

Though I do see that perhaps some of the NPCs you mention may not be suitable OR up for it.

Personally, as mentioned before I had wanted Awn to be the Diplomat, but if we reflavor High "Priest" as High Prophet he'd be tickled...green. Awesome interpretations of bright and dark btw...

My only real concern is with Akiros. My non-existant spidey sense tingles when I see his name. If only I paid more attention to our intel from Happs to work out just who he was/what his connection to Stag Lord was... (Oh yeah, I can search the thread for "Akiros"...but Awn can't. Then again, Awn doesn't have a reason not to trust Akiros...yet)

Awn blinks as the captain speaks.

"Well said Captain Garess. I guess in making the rich tapestry of life our patchwork runs quite ragged. Perhaps you shall be the darning needle to keep the warp and weft aligned." mangles the woodborn gently.

The Stag Lord's lifeforce ebbs and pulses. Awn noticeably shifts physically - his bulk expanding and a dark stream tracing thtoughout his form until it encapsulates the woodborn. The characteristic grin is gone, now, just a dark Bright Awn.

Now things are getting weirder. I posted the weird posts order post before the one about the ability DC, and now they are swapped around...

Uhhhrm, not really sure what happened there - I tried to edit my original post, which I thought was the roll of 9, but when it was edited a new post appeared before it, that has a much better attack roll. Super. Weird.

IF Stag Lord is still alive...Awn sniffs the weft of causality, like a fatehound sensing the winds of change. It is here. A crux. A moment. Clarity. He steps forward and stabs at the man with T'lass.

"Here".

Awn steps 5' to the west. Stabs, and if it kills the Stag Lord uses death knell [from deathoak racial ability] on Hornhead Lord.

Death Knell: You draw forth the ebbing life force of a creature and use it to fuel your own power. Upon casting this spell, you touch a living creature that has -1 or fewer hit points. If the subject fails its saving throw, it dies, and you gain 1d8 temporary hit points and a +2 enhancement bonus to Strength. Additionally, your effective caster level goes up by +1, improving spell effects dependent on caster level. This increase in effective caster level does not grant you access to more spells.

Stabbity!!!: 1d20 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 2 + 1 = 9 [+2 from second sight as immediate action..., so 11?!?]
Stab!!!: 1d10 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 1 = 13

Round 1
Awn double moves, which should place him south of Abaos and three squares to the east of Horned Head Lord.

Round 2
Drops aura of treachery, enacts aura of second sight.

Awn chases after his companions, feeling the tide of battle almost as a tacit wave. Sensing that the tide might shift either way, and that a greater battle might shift that tide their way he adjusts the warp of fate accordingly.

So if anyone misses HHL's AC of 15 by two, Awn can provide a +2 bonus as an immediate action. Once per round.

No, Awn walks a path now shadow'd. Kill them all. Consider it done.

4 uses of second sight left. (Actually maybe more seeing as he leveled up...will check later...

Awn flies up the stairs, well, not fly flies, more moves swiftly flies. At any rate, or...a fast rate...he moves...fast. Up. The stairs. The woodborn concentrates hard...,causing the Stag Lords forces to get in each other's way, be seemingly in the wrong place at the right time for their enemies....or in the right place at the wrong time for their friends...

Move Action: Up we go!
Free Action: Drop whatever aura was going.
Standard Action: Enact aura of treachery.

Please move Awn to the square just to the right of Guthruc, as if he were flanking 19 with the help of 18. Because now, hopefully, he is.

Aura of Treachery: Enemies who enter or begin their turn within the aura must make a Reflex save against the aura’s effects. If affected, the seer and her allies may count them as allies for the purposes of determining flanking bonuses.

Sorry for the extra rolls required - I guess all enemies within 30' of Awn need to make a DC 15 Reflex save.

I don't think we need to know HP, IF we are given narrative/descriptive clues along the way to reflect relative health/damage done.

Posting AC is probably a handy tool so we can narratively explain things when they hit or miss, and it might actually help Awn with his narrative-jamming (and Abaos too). Though some enemies might have interrupts/immediates that could also stop us. Definitely tricky in PbP, but where things are simple, by all means post the relevant AC.

Finally seeing a reason to move, Awn shifts the passage of immediate time, quickening those about him. He rushes after the rushing girl, rushily.

I thought that both howlers were dead - one slain by Dharak, the other burnt by Iorskan. Or was Iorskan just assuming he killed one?

Awn watches as the wizard *puffs* into smoke and disappears. He sighs. For some reason, he ardently wished to...kill... that man. Perhaps he will be afforded the opportunity again.

Bereft of meaningful options, the woodborn tries to assist Dharak in chopping into Howlers...

"Dharak - there, under the...yes. There. Ish."

Aid Another: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

@DM - actually reading Aura of Second Sight again again, I can only use it for free once per turn, which totally makes it next to useless in PbP. Awn (I) would need to interject after something happens (a dice roll), and then attempt to improve it.

Male Woodborn Seer 4; HP 31/31; AC 19/T15/FF 17; Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; Init +6; Per +11; Spd 30 ft. CMB +5, CMD 17

Sorry for not knowing what round Awn is acting on, and posting now so folk don't have to wait while I sleep...

The hairsbreadth contraction of Awn's eyes and the greater fading of his wolf smile attest to his dismay that Sneeg knows exactly who he is. If there is one thing a soothsayer doesn't like, it's his enemy saying...sooth.

He reacts accordingly, stabbing again...knowing innately that his own effort is fateful enough to strike the burly spellcaster...

You!!!!: 1d20 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 2 + 2 + 1 = 18 [+2 Str, +2 BAB, +1 enhancement]
Die!!!: 1d10 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 1 = 11 [+3 THF, +1 enhancement]

Just going through Awn's posts to find ut how many uses of second sight he used before swapping to Aura of Second sight. He used the +2 version (which actually consumes a use during that Aura) twice - once for Guthruc's jump (if he saw that) and once just now.

Male Woodborn Seer 4; HP 31/31; AC 19/T15/FF 17; Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; Init +6; Per +11; Spd 30 ft. CMB +5, CMD 17

As of THIS post, Awn should be on the square labeled "up"...

Awn looks down at Sneeg. The woodborn smiles, a wolfish crease in his features that appears to be mostly teeth and illwill.

"Hello Falgrim."

Then stabs at the man with his blade.

Stabbity!: 1d20 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 2 + 1 = 10 (+2 Str, +2 BAB, +1 enhancement)
Stab!!!: 1d10 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 1 = 6 (+3THF, +1 enhancement)

His smile falters, and he wrenches the stuff of fate, attempting to drive the point of his blade closer to the fallen wizard.

Immediate Action: Second sight (+2 due to Aura of second sight)

[Five uses of second sight left]

Some questions!

Who is Ralmog? Where is Ralmog?

Abaos miss chance roll was 65 then? But if that was enough to hit, maybe he missed the AC? Is that how it worked?

Is Awn aware/did he see that Sneeg disappeared? If not, he'll remain where he is, providing a second sight with a +2 bonus (thus expending a use) to Guthruc's grab, which I think he can see. If he saw Sneeg disappear, he will stab the air in an attempt to hit Sneeg-he-thinks-is-passing him.

Unless the Darkness took effect, and the spell Tartuk's-death-caused-to-fail was a different spell. In which case Awn stays still, readying a strike if Sneeg, or someone he thinks in Sneeg comes near him.

Just to be clear, I'm just trying to see through the mud of clarity I have.

Actually, f$&k it - what is happening?

;)

But seriously, am I even close to understanding what is happening?

Not cognisant of the creature in the wall, and unable to successfully impact the battle with Sneeg, Awn decides to wait where he is. Sorely tempted to ascend the stairs to ascertain the situation above, the woodborn wisely stays put lest he disturb or alert even more foes...

Awesome picture DM!!!! Awn looks cool, and I love Guthruc's face! Jen looks suitably wistful/mystified (wistified? mystful?), Ozzy right at home with her family and Abaos has just the right amount of "whelp!?!?" Fantastic. Except Iorskan. My dreams are not this glimmering, nor as active! the woodborn muses, finally free of smoke, gas and web.

Something appears to be happening in the cell to the northeast, but Awn cannot see a reason to investigate it with everyone and their maternal grandmother already there. Shaking out T'lass in the way an aristocrat might straighten a crumpled hat or cravat, Awn quickly doubles down on his control of fate, and moves to the bottom of the stairs to provide a guard to the party's rear...err...back.

Free Action: End aura of whatever it was before
Standard Action: Enact aura of second sight
Move Action: Move to bottom of stairs... [please move Awn to the square with "up" in it]

Aura of Second Sight:
Once per turn while this aura is in effect, the seer may use his second sight class ability without expending a use of second sight. If you spend a use of second sight to use your second sight ability while this aura is active, the bonus is increased by +1. This applies only to the basic use of second sight, not other class abilities, feats, or other prophecies that spend second sight (except for improved second sight).

Essentially this means Awn doesn't expend uses of second sight by using the ability, OR, if he wants to double the bonus he can expend one use...

Awn considers Happs' question. The woodborn's smile fades and he scrunches one eye, part wink, part signal to Jen that he intentionally disengaged from their impromptu ocular challenge.

"Definitely not botanic. As for her loyalty, given her state, probable duration of incarceration and the answers she's given to questions posed...as well as the likelihood of the Stagnant Lord OR his cronies being witful enough to arrange such erudite chicanery...I would say no. Not a plant."

The smile returns.

"Which isn't to say she doesn't have an agenda or that she's completely trustworthy. Then again, who smong our ragged band of liars, cheats, ne'erdowells and ruffians is?"

The wink follows.

Ok, seeing as the Abaos approaching Jen isn't happening as it should, Awn will adjust to the new timestream and weave a different fate.

Perhaps it was the shadows, or Jen's incarceration. Or perhaps it was all the weird personages that came after that confused her as to what entered before. One moment she was talking to Ozzy, and the next she remembered that the man seemingly made of roots and branches and wait, what...weird smooth skin...and flowers had been there for some time.

He was wyrd. Like a piece of wyrd, perhaps folded in on itself, upside down. Twice. And then flattened and elongated and then rolled up into a wedge of possibility. At least that was what his eyes felt like. Because he was staring right at her. With a heady mix of nonchalance - the kind of nonchalance you are born with - and imperturbable...stillness. Which would be unsettling if he didn't then suddenly break out into a gickshit eating grin. Which was great, because then his eyes went back to...normal. For a tree. Then again, for Jen, as a tiefling, normal left a loooong time ago.

Essentially, he wore a loincloth. Less essentially, but more practically the bark and roots covering his torso created armor. A blade, elf-curved jutted insouciantly from a scabbard at his hip. Mostly he stood. And watched.

"I'm Awn. And you, you are the Change."

Apologies for liberties taken with Jen's character or point of view...
