Branth will throw one of her axes at G1.

Axe throw = 1d20+4 = 8

Whoops.

Uh... what number initiative roll are we on? Looks like Caladan posted #1 and Raoh #3. I really don't remember where we're at.

Anyway, my ten initiative rolls are here.

Branth raises her eyebrows and grins. "Smart thinkin', godling!" Following his line of thought, she adds, "Maybe their not coins at all, but coin-shaped monsters!"

Female Half-Orc Barbarian (Favored) 1

Branth doesn't seem to care much either way about the gold, as she remains silent through that exchange.

If Saul is around, she will ask him, "Ay, Saul, what time are we closin' up tonight?"

Female Half-Orc Barbarian (Favored) 1

During all of the hullaballo about the snake in the kitchen, Branth has remained posted at the door, doing her bouncerly duties.

I'm assuming she saw Caladan leave with the snake or perhaps only return if he took it out a back door, and has an idea of what has transpired, but she's keeping a watch on the main room for anything suspicious

Perception Roll = 1d20-1 = 6

I'll be on a trip from 3/14 until 3/21. Sorry for the absence. DM Dave, please DMNPC Branth while I'm gone. Her tactics are basically intimidate, attack, rage, repeat. Thanks.

Perception: 1d20-1 = 0

lol--not the most astute individual, this Branth.

Branth tries to pay attention to the big man that Saul indicated, but keeps getting distracted by all the people coming in and out of the front door where she is posted.

Female Half-Orc Barbarian (Favored) 1

Branth boggles at the man's words. "You mean the Cyphermages could be responsible for the damn thing, but you don't even know? How irresponsible!" She rolls her eyes in irritation and mutters to herself some curses about magic. After this, she blurts out, "Can't anything be done?"

Female Half-Orc Barbarian (Favored) 1

As the man enters and introduces himself, Branth blurts out, "Damn right we've got questions about the Blot! Any idea what it is? Where it comes from?" She speaks rapidly, getting worked up, and moves towards the man as she does. "Who's behind it? What's going on? Lots of strange things've been happening, and I'm getting fed up!" She seems to be losing it, and has really gotten in the man's personal space by the end of this rant.

Intimidate = 1d20+5 = 22

She's not consciously trying to intimidate the man, but she's irritable this morning and doesn't like the stuffiness of the lodge, so she's edgy and unpleasant. ;)

"Gah! I hate waiting in this place!" exclaims Branth in an outburst of sudden anger. She clenches a fist and looks like she is ready to hit something, smash some teacups, or otherwise do something that she might regret after her flaring temper subsides.

"We are quite busy," the women says. "However, I guess we could find someone who can answer your questions. Follow me." She leads the way, to a finely appointed parlor. "Please wait here," the woman says.

Branth is clearly uncomfortable in the refined room. She wanders over to a small, ornate table where tea cups and thin, fragile plates are arranged. Turning to Raoh with an expression somewhere between a grin and a grimace, she asks, "Care for a spot of tea, Raoh?" in a poorly-rendered mockery of the woman's snooty accent.

DM Dave wrote:

The rest of the gang

The trip to the Cypher Lodge is convoluted and long, since it sits on the other side of the river from the Gold Goblin and Riddleport has no bridges. However, after about an hour and a half, you stand in the shadow of the Cyphergate. Knocking on the great doors elicites a prompt response, and the door is opened by a middleaged woman with glasses, wearing a green and gold gown. "May I help you," she says.

Imagine her with a snooty British accent

Branth waits for Raoh or someone with a bit more social grace to take the lead.

Female Half-Orc Barbarian (Favored) 1

Okay, so all but Uathach are headed out to investigate the blot, right? We should probably go have a talk with the cyphermages to see what they know about it. Perhaps a DM'ed Caladan can take the lead on this, as he was the one asking Saul last night about the blot?

Female Half-Orc Barbarian (Favored) 1

Branth clasps her fist in her other large hand in a gesture of finality. "Then it's almost settled. Uathach, do you need help with the interview, or are you good?" She hesitates briefly. "I mean--I know you're good, being a half-celestial being and all--but do you want me to stick around back here in case you need someone to play devil to your angel? 'Cause I can do that. But I'd rather hit the streets, to be straight with you."

Female Half-Orc Barbarian (Favored) 1

Branth nods at Uathach. "You may be the man for the job, then." She addresses Saul, "I'll help if you want, if you need someone to browbeat her or somethin'. I'm good at making people feel unwanted. But I'm gonna assume the demi-god here"--and here she pauses to grasp Uathach firmly by the shoulder and flash a beaming smile, with a hit of carnal savagery, at him--"is gonna be the man for this particular job."

Turning to the others, she says, "Now if Saul would give us a little time off this afternoon, maybe some of us could go snoop around town and see what kind of bits of knowledge we can soak up about this stupid blot. I'm gettin' tired of these weird mornings. Don't know about the rest of y'all." She raises her eyebrows and ranges her gaze around the gathered men.

Female Half-Orc Barbarian (Favored) 1

"Well, who is she? And what are we interviewin' her for?"

Female Half-Orc Barbarian (Favored) 1

"Sure, Saul. What you got for breakfast? And who we interviewin'?"

Female Half-Orc Barbarian (Favored) 1

Branth is up at dawn, strolling around the streets of Riddleport in an attempt to escape the stuffy confines of the Goblin and enjoy some fresher air. As the first rays of the sun attempt to dispel the odd pall cast over the town by the blot, the metallic clamor of every weather-vane in town being wrenched blotward makes the half-orc jump and cringe.

"Aw, hells," she mutters under her breath as she picks up her pace, heading back towards the inn. Soon, confused masses of sleepy people mill about the streets and hang out of windows, trying to puzzle out exactly what is going on.

Female Half-Orc Barbarian (Favored) 1

Branth nods as Raoh exits for the evening. Shortly after he leaves, she excuses herself to head upstairs to the suite of rooms. Once there, she lounges for a while in the common room, wondering to herself about the odd shower of seemingly illusionary stones that morning. Eventually she gets sleepy and holes up in her room to sleep for the night.

Female Half-Orc Barbarian (Favored) 1

"Well, let's eat! I'm in the mood for some roasted boar and a giant tankard of mead." She gives a sidelong glance at Uatach. "Hey, you--being a favored celestial being and all--ain't gonna condemn our souls if we indulge in the drinkies, are you? I mean, not that it really matters to me. I'm just curious." She grins, showing block-like teeth and two canine tusks jutting upward from her lower gums.

"So Branth, Bron" he gives a look to the two half-elves "and you two. Why don't we go for a quick bite to eat and drink. I'll show you around the town before the tournament gets into full swing."

"Uh... Raoh, we might wanna check with Saul first, eh? I don't think I wanna just walk off the job on my first day."

Female Half-Orc Barbarian (Favored) 1

Branth nods. "Course it doesn't. That would be silly. It would make enforcing the no-weapons policy a little more difficult, wouldn't it?" After a second, she adds with an air of pride, "I could still do it, mind you... but Raoh over there might have a hard time without his special friend the coily blade." She grins at Raoh, clearly satisfied with herself for having gotten in two digs at her friend in such a short period of time.

"What? No, I've got to stay here and watch over this punk," replies Branth, indicating the lead sailor by patting him patronizingly on the shoulder.

She beams a grotesque smile over to Uatach, the smile plainly forced. "You wanna talk about religion tonight, I'd suggest goin' over to Raoh's place. I seen his soul, and it is dirty. Mine however, gets washed every now and again."

"I'll keep watch over this one here," she says to Raoh, indicating the leader.

Branth quickly pulls the greataxe from her back and feints forward towards the lead sailor, crowding him with her massive bulk and yelling at him. "Now that was extremely rude and extremely stupid!! I'd suggest that you apologize for your mistake, take your chips, and go home!!" She pushes forward, adding through clenched teeth, "The last person who received the business end of my axe lay lifeless in a pool of blood just last night, not far from where you are standing right now."

When Bron walks out of his room, Branth is still standing around in the common room, watching the stones fall. "Can you believe this?" she asks the rogue, pointing out the window, as if he may not be aware of the fragments of black stone falling from the sky. Seeing that he is on his way out the door, she follows.

Branth yells over the resounding clamor of the stones hitting the dome of the Gold Goblin, "What the hells is all that noise?" She climbs out of bed, fully dressed, and thuds her way to the shared room, looking around vengefully, clearly irritated by the racket. Glaring out the window, she sees the black stones raining down outside and stares at them silently for a moment.

"Alright. There are black rocks falling from the sky!" she announces with a loud yell that fills the suite, although half-muted and garbled in the cacophony created by the stones slamming into the roof.

Female Half-Orc Barbarian (Favored) 1

Branth grunts and mumbles to herself, then says to Saul, "I guess I'll stay here too, for the time being. I'm already used to the smell. I can't say if I'll be here every night, though. You know, I like to sleep under the stars, and have some people I need to stay in contact with outside of town." She stands from the straight-backed chair, lugging all her gear back on as she does so, and waits to be shown where her room is.

Branth searches the body of the woman she has just killed, taking what may be of interest. She then closes the woman's eyes. "Can't stand her staring accusingly and horrified at nothing like that," she mutters.

Standing, she walks over to the dwarf and asks, "Who is this boss man?"

As the one-eyed woman begins her performance, Branth leaps up onto the nearest table (lets say square M12). Hefting a throwing axe in her right hand, she pauses briefly to take aim, then hurls the weapon at the one-eyed woman (assuming the other thug between us has moved out of the way; otherwise, I'll just peg him).

Ranged attack: 1d20-1 (+3 for DEX -4 for range increments) = 8; damage: 1d6+3 (+3 STR) = 7, although I'd say that's a miss.

Bron gives a slight nod as the woman strolls up, and says with a genuine smile " Good day mi lady, the names Bron Islar, may I have the pleasure of your name and the company with this round on me?" he asks?

Branth glares at Bron suspiciously as he makes his introduction and offer, then begins to grin crookedly as he pours on the charm. She snorts. "You wanna buy me a drink?" She shrugs, then looks away. When she looks back at him, the grin has disappeared and her face is stony and impassive. "You can call me Big B for now, brawny Bron," she says. "What are we drinking?"
