This weekend will be his first game at 10th level, and one of his 4th level spells is junksword ^_^ DochSavage wrote: More thoughts on the Engineered-variation of Junk Sword. I think it's great to flavor where the junk in your junksword comes from. The articulated arm of that sentry drone your group encountered. The remains of an explosive trap you failed to perceive. Almost as a way to record the memorable encounters your group has had. Mechanically-speaking, it should probably just translate into higher-level spellslots.
I'm playing my Nuar Technomancer for the first time tomorrow and while choosing spells I came across junksword. Since every Technomancer I've seen picks the same magic missile or jolting surge, I thought this would be fun change. I was also planning on taking Weapon Focus and had the same questions as the first few posters, which led me to this thread. Made me feel all giddy that other people noticed the same discrepancies. I hope this gets an eventual FAQ or errata as well. Until then I'll take Weapon Focus and Versatile Focus to handle any table variation. Thanks for the suggestion!

Taking advantage of Rogers's quick maneuvering, Braford thrusts twice. Spear vs. KAC: 1d20 + 4 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 2 - 4 = 18
Spear vs. KAC: 1d20 + 4 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 + 2 - 4 = 16
"If this don't work, we hightail it towards that gun."

Mysticism: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 "Don't line up! It'll spit sound at you!" Braford calls his trusty spear to his hand (honestly this is my favorite tactic in Starfinder, Lol) and jabs at the invertebrate (standard action). Spear vs. KAC: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Darn. Wish those numbers were reversed =(

Presented with a Flank, Braford strikes to the left with his spear while goring upwards with his right horn (Full Attack) Spear vs KAC: 1d20 + 4 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 + 2 - 4 = 17
Gore vs KAC: 1d20 + 4 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 2 - 4 = 14
Nuar Technomancer (10)
"HRRUUU!!!" Braford calls his spear to his hand (swift) and jabs it into the ribcage of the undead in front of him (standard). Spear vs KAC: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Unfortunately, it just rattles around inside the skeleton ineffectually. "Give up ya bags o' bones! Surrender in the name of the law!"

"I got outgoing!" Braford calls his spear to his hand (swift action) and tosses it at the nearest skeleton (red, standard action). Spear, Range Penalty: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 4 - 2 = 4
As his spear goes wide, Braford tries to recall what he knows about this type of foe. Mysticism: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

An unexpected rift opens in space-time and a passenger shuttle exits the Drift between the two vessels. It pulls alongside the Loreseeker and flashes its hazard lights. In the middle of the front dashboard you see a glowing pink sticker that reads "DRYFT". "*comm crackle crackle* -llo! Pardon the belated intrusion. Venture Captain didn't think I'd make it to you in time! Looks like you already did all the hard work. Mind another body to help you board 'em?"

I think with my 40ft speed I can get adjacent to her going through the path and then into the foliage. "Just what the doctor ordered. Thank ya kindly!" Braford shakes his massive head and charges (figuratively) at the ghoul. Spear vs KAC: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Nuar Technomancer (10)
"HRRUUU!!!" Braford moves further down the walkway to bypass the cover of the thugs (move), tosses his spear at their leader (standard)... Miss Chance: 1d100 ⇒ 60
...and calls his spear back to his hands (swift). "Gigs up ya varmints. Surrender in the name of the law!"

Braford grumbles audibly before scraping a horn against the metal shelving, producing a horrible noise. "I said 'nostalgic', not 'ancient'. And I don't like being made fun of with your PUNS, either!" he says in an ever-increasing volume. "Why don't you tell my friends here what they want to know, Vesk-ling. You don't want a double dose of mad cow disease." Intimidate: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (20) + 0 = 20

"That'll probably be me. Failed Vehicle Ed twice, now. I always feel squished into the driver seat. But gosh that'd be excitin' to drive a police cruiser some day. Maybe work for the Stewards during downtimes." "I've been free rangin' my whole life. Born on the Station, lived in the Spike, the Ring, even the Armada. Used to be a medic, but higher learnin's so expensive these days. I felt so blessed when the Society said they'd take me. Not often you see one of us bein' sent off on a mission, and here we are two of us!" "What about all you lot? What's your story?"
