Second Seekers (Jadnura)

A comm unit is essentially just a Tier 0 Computer with the Miniaturization Upgrade.

So just bolt on other upgrades using that as your base frame.

IIRC, when I was adding a custom comm unit to my Technomancer in Society, there was a point where I wasn't sure of the exact price of something. Some Upgrades are a percentage increase and others are a flat cost. In those cases either consult your GM (in a homegame) or go with the higher cost (Society) and you should be fine. It doesn't cost much more in the long run.

Does Solarion + Junk Armor not accomplish this? This gives you the mechanics, and you fill in the flavor.

I realize that you have to be a Solarion and/or Mystic to pull it off, but it's doable.

I have a Technomancer 10 who walks around wielding and wearing junk 24/7 and it's very enjoyable.

I think it's great to flavor where the junk in your junksword comes from. The articulated arm of that sentry drone your group encountered. The remains of an explosive trap you failed to perceive. Almost as a way to record the memorable encounters your group has had.

Mechanically-speaking, it should probably just translate into higher-level spellslots.

I'm playing my Nuar Technomancer for the first time tomorrow and while choosing spells I came across junksword. Since every Technomancer I've seen picks the same magic missile or jolting surge, I thought this would be fun change.

I was also planning on taking Weapon Focus and had the same questions as the first few posters, which led me to this thread. Made me feel all giddy that other people noticed the same discrepancies.

I hope this gets an eventual FAQ or errata as well. Until then I'll take Weapon Focus and Versatile Focus to handle any table variation. Thanks for the suggestion!

In my experience, it's easiest/quickest to roll Initiative for the group. Just organize everyone alphabetically for consistency.

An unexpected rift opens in space-time and a passenger shuttle exits the Drift between the two vessels. It pulls alongside the Loreseeker and flashes its hazard lights. In the middle of the front dashboard you see a glowing pink sticker that reads "DRYFT".

"*comm crackle crackle* -llo! Pardon the belated intrusion. Venture Captain didn't think I'd make it to you in time! Looks like you already did all the hard work. Mind another body to help you board 'em?"

Most Bots I've seen were the GM making a simple attack or following what the character would normally do.

Delaying can negatively impact the rest of the party, IME.

That's why Braford has a "BOT ME!" spoiler on his profile.
