Clarification for the Manifold Host?

This is probably a silly question, but I want to have as many people join the Manifold host as I can, and I'm happy to spend my points to get as many people as possible, so I want to make sure I'm doing it right.

So just to clarify, as the primary "Host" boon holder, I can buy a Manifold Host Recruiter for 2 fame, make a photocopy of the boon, then fill out the info on the photocopy with who I want to recruit into the Manifold Host and induct someone in, but then they can't buy a copy themselves (Because their version should have the info for me in the blanks of the slot). I can then purchase another copy with another 2 fame for someone else.

Am I understanding the procedure correctly?

Because it is limited use it is restricted to this one time.

There's some wonky rules interactions, but as I understand it the manifold host allows you to recruit one, and only one, additional person per boon you have received.

If you somehow obtained a second copy of the boon for GMing you could apply that boon to another character and recruit another person. People who GM'd enough slots at PaizoCon and/or Origins received multiple copies of the boon allowing for this.

I am unaware of whatever this thing is, but I happily volunteer to be a host ^_^

For science, of course.

Was wondering what this was myself, as it has popped up when registering a character.

I got this boon for GM'ing at PaizoCon this year. Applied it to my Wrickreechee.
I'm going to be giving an invitation to my friend, who got a Skittermander boon at PaizoCon. :/

I hope that I didn't miss out on something great because that was way too much text for my post-travel brain to read with any comprehension at GenCon, so I went with a race boon.

The big draw of the Manifest Host faction is after spending some rep points- it opens up your Personal Boon slot that you've used for an uncommon race boon.

other than that, not much else. I haven't seen other Personal boons on chronicles or such.

Spoiler:
Then you haven't played #1-17 yet.

There are two scenarios I am aware of currently that grant non-race Personal Boons.

I didn't say what the boon was, only that there was a personal boon on it.

That would be a spoiler, yes.

Something not using your personal race boon would be a known thing out of the gate, because the wayfinders tier 4 rep makes a big deal out of it.

I just want one because it fits in perfectly with my -705 character’s background and motivations. A character recruited to the Society by the noble act of another, but completely unfamiliar with the Pact Worlds. Who will be eager to be welcoming to others as well.

Happy to write you into the one I'm keeping. I'm applying it to the same character thing. Hit me up after gen con.

That’s exactly what the Manifold Host should be — welcoming! Thank you, Shaudius.

So, HMM could you perhaps confirm if it's 1 person I can invite into the host or as many as I can pay for?

With the explanation above, I think I understand that it's only 1 (In which case, I'll have to be a lot more stingy with who I give it to) but if it's more, than I wanna invite as many as I can!

Only one. You have to put their member# on your boon sheet.

For those with concerns, we're looking at ways to make the Manifold Host more widely available in the future. For now, we want to make sure our current "Hosts" get some time to enjoy their boons and bring new members into the faction. But, that being said, keep a lookout! :)

How much did you need to GM? I just about killed myself running eight slots at GenCon (including three different multi-table specials) and I got only one (and I needed to pick between Manifold Host, an SFS race boon, and a PFS race boon).

Thurston's statement about opening up Manifold Host to non-boon holders makes me think that I chose poorly and I should have selected the SFS race boon.

EDIT
Also, where did my novas go?

As noted above, we are WELL-aware of the issue of re-releasing a boon that was just made available as a special reward to some of our most dedicated GMs. One thing with Starfinder, is that I'm trying to avoid a boon being a one/done deal. I hope to circulate boons in a more regular manner so that when people are offered a choice between two special boons, they don't need to worry about never getting the second choice. In this way, I hope we can somewhat accommodate both groups of "oh I missed something" and "oh I worked hard for something cool and now everyone is getting it."

As for the novas, see this thread for more info!
