Here is a RE CAP that the Gnoll DM posted WAYYYYYYY back.
DM RECAP:
A year after your liberation of Kelmarane, a prophet of Sarenrae appeared in the village by the name of Qadir, warning you of an imminent invasion by the Carrion King and his forces from his throne in the House of the Beast. You were advised of a secret entrance through a Path of Fire. You traveled for a week to the cave, wherein you activated an ancient portal that teleported you to a scorching underground lair of fire salamanders. There, you allied yourself with one of the salamanders, Lasserak, who advised you to take out the head of the Salamander tribe, a female named Ataraxia and her elemental bodyguard Onyx, due to their ties with the Carrion King. You did so successfully and were allowed to use another runic teleportation device to transport yourselves into the House of the Beast. There, you fought a fiend and numerous gnolls, before encountering the half-ogre Lazrul, a former slave of the Carrion King, and his band of survivors. After surviving an ambush, you fought your way to the Carrion King's throne room, where you finally dispatched the gnoll leader with ease, causing a withdrawal of the rest of the gnolls in the fortress. Lazrul and his men bid adieu and left. However, there was still danger, as a demonic centipede that the Carrion King worshiped attacked but ultimately, succumbed to your blows. A tattooed 7' gnoll worshiper of Lamashtu then came in and thanked you for your efforts in dispatching the false servant of Rovagug. A possessed Eli led the party further into the bowels of the House of the Beast, bypassing traps, moaning spirits, and finally, encountering a winged horse demon. Though a difficult fight, the party survived, though Tyronel died before the might of the demon's death magic. The party found a powerful item, known as the Scroll of Kakishon in a sarcophagus. On their way out of the House of the Beast, the party was set upon by "Qadir", who revealed himself to be Zayifid, a former Templar of the Four Winds, and his troglodyte priest ally. They wanted the Scroll but the party refused and combat ensued, finally ending with the troglodyte's death but Zayifid's escape. The appearance of more gnolls from other tribes entering the House of the Beast finally forced the party to retreat to the runic teleporter, where they escaped and returned to Lasserak's lair. Phew! You guys have accomplished a lot! Since then we have traveled to Katapesh to have Ty raised and fought a giant worm and the last of the Gnolls who served the Carrion King. In that second battle Dumah died. In Katapesh we sold all our loot and Ty was raised from the dead, but Dumah's spirit chose not to come back. Rumors are about that we have the scroll possibly spread by Zayifid(Qadir) and several parties are interested in acquiring it from us. We went to the Rayhan who confirmed that we did have the real Scroll of Kakishon. Heat is on us to sell it, even though we have made efforts to hide the fact we have the real scroll. Mahath joined the group. Eli got a note signed by "T" who threatened to hurt Heleen, so we went to the meet, but it was a trick and when we returned to the villa Rayhan had been kidnapped and we suspect drow elves are involved. We accused Tamir (one of the more seedy agents interested in the scroll) byt he was not involved (maybe) Quzman's tribe sent a messenger to bring him back for something important, and Mahath has found Rayhan's crystal ball. He was able to see the mage and Heleen (minus one finger) in a jail cell. Another note claimed that if we didn't follow "T"'s instructions from now on they would send more of Heleen in pieces. At this time I believe Eli has the Scroll of Kakishon's case with a fake in it and Mahath is carrying the real scroll. Does that about cover it? I put more notes from through out the thread in the spoilers under this profile.
Quzman reaches Eli, but the bard rises in a confident manner, his grip on Tempest stronger than ever. And in a powerful but worried voice, he says "Mortals, can you not sense it? The magic of Kakishon....in such a place of evil! We must recover it at once!" Without looking back, he marches off toward the gap in the wall. For everyone except Jameena:
**** With Quzman and Jameena in the lead, the party explores the rest of the room. Jameena does not sense any more evil, so that puts the party a little more at ease. To the north, there rests a single massive block of deep black stone upon a dais. Carvings on the sarcophagus and the surrounding wall depict the terrifying image of a nine-legged spider with a gaping maw. Eli suddenly whispers in the now recognizable possessed voice, "The Scroll of Kakishon!" and rushes to open the sarcophagus but try as he might, he cannot lift it. He looks down at his body and says "What a weak form!" Eli regains his senses, as the spirit within him subsides. **** Zayifid smiles, "Smart move, whore. But I've never wanted your deaths, just the Scroll of Kakishon. So run and hide, you are no threat to me, with your scimitar in my hand. But you, shell of Vardishal, will give it to me now or you will die!" Vardishal deftly lashes out with his scimitar and on his second attempt, Tempest falls harmlessly out of Eli's hands to the floor! **** This is what I found to refresh our memory of what has happened around the Scroll. I couldn't find anything where Dumah provided anymore information about it to us. Could you point that out or refresh our memories.
I have updated the treasure record and noted what all the new magic items are. We have some cool stuff like: wand -- spiritual weapon CL 3 (20 charges) Can anyone use this?
Feel free to click on this profile and check to see if you agree with or have any questions about anything.
Would this be a good time to divvy out XP? Also we should all deiced on how to spread this stuff out. Off of Grudmoch, troglodyte preist
from the Gnoll Sarcophagus
off the Carrion King
off of Blobog, the goblin cleric:
off of Ataraxia
Hadir
We also have the +1 Leather I was wearing, but took off to wear the mithril chainmail. I believe we promised it to Jamenna so it could be traded or sold to get her better armor since I was getting the magic chain. Anybody want any to the unclaimed items? What ever we don't want to keep we will need to sell to bring TY back. I hope there will be enough to cover it.
Updated the Treasure Record Can anyone use any of this stuff? I'd like to repalce Eli's wand with the new one. The one I had was bought with group funds, so this also would before the entire group. Also I am in need of better armor, so if the small chain shirt will fit, I think I will need to suck up the AC penalty checks to improve my defense. That would give us a set of +1 leather that we could sell. I already have a Ring of Protection +2 so I can't use the ring or the cloak. Anyone able to use those?
Come to think of it...didn't we give it to Dumah? I think Eli had it then it was free to go to someone else after we got the +2 one. At any case it's a small ring so I don't see why he can't start wearing it now. Eli will just pull it out of his pack and Dumah can put it on. That is where it would be if no one else had taken it.
Eli steps over the fallen snake being and rushes forward, turns and circles around to attack Onyx. "The Sand Stalkers will soon be called Rock Stompers, let's get him gang!" Move to F7,G6, then H6 Eli is currently affected by haste, bull’s strength, Inspire Courage, Dodge, Combat Expertise
Current hp: 30 / 35 max
Full Attack Roll w/Combat Expertise 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Crit Check 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Just a note, Eli doesn't "sing". I chose performance oratory so his bard "song" his his constant encouraging words.

Since this is for the benefit of the whole party for this specific quest, I think the cost should be paid by the Sand Stalkers from our general fund. Anyone disagree?
Tyronel wrote: While we are back to town, Ty needs to restock on arrows, getting back up to his usual 50. I'll subtract the gold to get him there. You dont need to spend any coin, we have 156 arrows in stock that we have collected on our adventures. Let me know how many you need to take and I will adjust our treasure record. |
