Moving a bit forward and readying an action to attack any enemy spiders that get within reach...with the idea being I'll get a readied attack and possibly attacks of opportunity.

Not sure how you'd like to handle AoOs GM. I'll be online a bit today to check on the game, so I can roll them if they happen...or if you'd rather roll them as they come up that works too. Blaughter is at +5 to hit, and does d8+6 for damage currently

Oddly for being a cleric, Blaughter has no ranks in Know religion just yet, as he's not very knowledgeable on the specifics of his own religion...let alone any others.
"Can't say I seen that afore. Least I don't recall so. As for goin' on...aye, maybe a little ways further. I'm agreein' with Roscoe though. This is lookin' more an' more like somewhere I don't want to be sleepin' near."

Blaughter finishes digging around in his ear with one calloused and hairy knuckled pinky..."Eh? Someone say m'name?" He asks, having missed the exchange over bravery, halfling lives, and scouting. Sorry, misplaced my computer charger and have been scrambling to get a replacement.

Seeing the scouts return he shrugs, guessing it had just been a figment of his imagination.

"I agree with the lass," He says after Orono speaks...though he's careful not to make eye contact with the woman, and makes a few nervous glances toward her pack (assuming that's where the spider is currently). "If'n we're goin' to be out here we might as well get accustom to the land. Plus, if Minah can scrounge us up some squirrels, an' maybe some mushrooms 'an the like, I can make a pot o' squirrel nut stew for us t'night."

Going to go ahead and put Blaughter back to a standard cleric if that's alright GM Ragged.

Background Question:

Also...Blaughter's hook for coming to the keep was the contract to kill someone there. Did you want to do anything with that or just leave it in the background? As I said before, I've no intent of going through with the contract. If anything, Blaughter would likely make a point of getting in touch with the individual and letting them know someone was interested in seeing them dead.

In theory Blaughter is designed to be a frontline combatant...though I'm going to need to get his AC up...and start managing to hit. I probably should have started the fight off with a buff instead of plunging in to melee too. Considering the number of people we have I'm going to have Bless at the ready next time I prepare.

As for a good target to enlarge, Blaughter is a decent choice like Henris said, but hitting Houk with it to give us two melee folk with reach would help.

As far as mechanical changes...I wouldn't mind dropping the Evangelist archetype to gain back medium armor prof. Especially considering I spaced the fact that the evangelist loses the ability to spontaneously cast cure spells...

Staggering to his feet slowly, Blaughter hawks and spits a large glob of bloody phlegm onto the ground near the downed owlbear. "Bloody things pack a damn good wholop. Thanks there, lass, for the healin'." He says to Orono, "An' you too." He adds, gesturing to Margut.

Round 3
"Whaarrhh, dear gods lad, I'd say that taste like my boot, but only if I'd stepped in ogre scat and washed it off in piss!" Blaughter says, rolling to his feet clear of the owlbear's painful reach. Once clear he starts on a prayer to Desna, imploring her to stitch his wounds so he might help his companions bring these things down.

Margut's heroics did not go unnoticed, and while chanting Blaughter gives the hobgoblin an appreciative nod.

Blaughter spends a moment watching the way the owlbear infront of him fights. Beasts went about killing different than men, but they still had their patterns and rhythms and a perceptive old soldier could pick up on...the way something with such bulk will try and use that bulk when it swings, pulling back just a hair too far to get the right amount of momentum...and there! There is an opening!

Move action to use Studied Target on the owlbear, then attack. GM, you mentioned flanking earlier...I'm assuming you were just being descriptive as I don't think me and Houk are actually flanking, but I'd be happy to be mistaken.

Sorry for the delay

Having been away from the field of battle too long, Blaughter didn't initially catch on to the situation he and his companions faced...truthfully, when the discussion turned to the subject of Orono's venomous companion his mind drifted to a time, maybe not quite long enough ago, when he was more acquainted with such creatures.

The cracking of branches and howl of pain as one of Houk is bloodied draws him to the here and now though, and he rushes toward the beast, adrenaline stripping everything but his training from his thoughts.

Move five squares down and one to the right, engaging the owlbear with my long spear. If the brush is difficult terrain I don't think I'll have enough movement to move in and attack, so I'll just move up.

Blaughter walks around the shop for a moment with his companions, eyeing this and that, before excusing himself back outside. It was good to establish contact with the local buyer/seller, but the old soldier was more than happy to let Roscoe take lead in that endeavor.

Outside, he keeps an eye out for any other adventuring types, or arriving patrols to chat with. The captain had said they were the only band of freeblades for the moment, but who knew when that would change?

Blaughter rises fairly early, and spends a surprising amount of time in his shared room exercising, mostly stretches and the like...and is quite limber for a man of his girth. When done, if Margut is awake the old soldier gives him a wink, "Secret to a long life may be heavy armor and a longer weapon than yer enemy, but that there'll keep ye young forever. Now, are you as ready ta eat as I am friend?"

He heads downstairs, joining up with the rest of the "freeblades" in time for Roscoe's break down of the situation.

The prospect of a nice bottle of wine is enough to draw him out of his head though. "Aha, this is why I love traveling with the wee folk," he says after Roscoe points out the bottle to Doris. "Sharp eyes and impeccable taste!"

Having just finished relieving himself on a tree some distance from the path, Blaughter makes his way back to the caravan. He is a man of immense girth in both the abdominal and facial hair region. Even while out making water he keeps his kit and accompaniments close at hand, using his long handled spear as a walking stick while navigating the off track terrain.

Over the days of travel he's conducted himself as a jovial enough companion, more than happy to help anyone in the caravan not accustom to roughing it, joking and telling stories about the fire at night...in fact, it appears he is quite fond of regaling the group with some story or another. If even half of them are to be believed, he's been on the field in nearly every major battle in this region and all neighbors for the past twenty years. Perhaps it's just the number of days spent traveling making everyone's tells sound alike, but last night's grand tell sounded an awful lot like one someone in the caravan told the first night...

"Lunch time already?" He says hopefully, eyeing Orono's "pet" feast upon some woodland creature or another. His tone is friendly, though he gives the spider a wide birth and nervous glance.

OOC:

Would like to pick up a few last bits of gear if that's alright. Rope, rations, a tent, things like that.

Blaughter is melee based. Granted, melee at reach, but still melee.

Hitting a schedule snag at the moment. Curious on what the posting expectations are going to be like? I'm pretty sure I can finish up the sheet in time, I'm just worried about keeping up over the next week if it's something crazy like min of multiple posts a day. After this coming week I should be solid.

Interested in playing this profile. Blaughter is an old worn down solider, jovial and kind natured, tired of seeing good lads fall in wars began by men who've never even seen a battlefield.

Or at least that's the lie he's been living the last few years. The truth is, well...something less heroic. He wasn't so much a soldier as a hired killer, and, at least at the time, he didn't care a bit for the young men who didn't make it home. That was a long time ago, though, and he's a different man now. Changed for the better. Even dedicated his life to serving the goddess Desna.

Or at least that's what he tells himself. But sure enough, an old "friend" came sniffing around for him, offering a big sack of coin for a job that came as natural as breathing just a few years ago, and Blaughter said yes just out of reflex.

Spoiler Alert:

;) I don't want to play a bad guy in this campaign. Backgroundwise Blaughter's been hired to take someone in the keep out (the Castellan perhaps...maybe someone on one side doesn't want to risk him taking orders from the other), but if selected he isn't going to go through with it. It's just his reason for going out that way, and once there he's going to decide doing whatever adventurey type stuff we have to do is going to be his second chance.

Sounds like we have another synthesist...drat. Hopefully the two of us are different enough, both mechanically as well as background-wise to not conflict too much.

Rhys Grey...Thank you for the time you spent considering all that. Only thing I would have done different if I were GM would be the hit points, but I'm interested in seeing how it works out (assuming I get selected of course).

Ray, thank you for the link, I had no clue they already had a FAQ up for the APG. Good to have handy.

Anyways, here is Auzshial Medveyed, though he's not fully statted up just yet. Background is very rough, as I through it together this morning before class...hoping to have to polished a bit by tomorrow. Hopefully there is enough to get a feel for the character.

Mechanically I want to make him into a front liner (though looking at the other applicants, we have plenty of meat with which to shield...) with plenty of buffing/counter buffing spells. I'm new to the summoner class though, so any advice people have for building him up as we go would be greatly appreciated.

Human Witch 6 here and getting ready...

Going to read up on The Twelve tonight, but so far it seems like something Auzshial could be at least loosely connected to.

As for goals, I'm still interested in playing around in the Mournland. Personal goals would include a deceased love one who's body he is trying to track down and bring back. I'm going to come up with some more detail, though any input from the DM/fellow players would be appreciated.

Don't have much in the way of stats on this computer, but here is the alias.

This character isn't so much evil, as just off putting. Very Rastlinesque I suppose you could call it.
