![]() Even though I am old enough to be 'old school' I didn't start roleplaying until 3.5, so I missed this era of gaming. I didn't hear about this book (or simply passed it over) until my FGS owner tagged me in a post about it. I read the review on ENworld and then ran over and bought it. From what i've read so far I can't wait to try out some of this 70's gaming goodness. I may change my mind once a handful of my level 0 guys die horribly, but we'll see =) ![]()
![]() So I put the question to my group and here's the first response ... Yeah ok so I came up with a straight 20th level fighter with 880,000 starting gold. He has AC of 48 and his armor and shield are both +5 enhancement with Heavy Fort (75% negate crit) and the armor is adamantite which is DR 3/-. He has an amulet of Natural Armor +5 and a ring of Protection +5 and a cloak of Resistance +5 His weapon is a +5 adamantite vorpal longsword. If using max HP every level he has 440 hit points. He also has a Belt of Physical Perfection +6 (to Str, Dex, Con). Pretty much invulnerable to anything and has a fair chance of negating any crit threats that happen to get confirmed. So IMO one 20th Level geared Shield and Sword fighter could take on an army of Gnolls singlehandedly with no real chance of failure. He did not give me a feat list though. ![]()
![]() So, say I wanted to try this as a real world experiment. What would the rules be for creating the fighter? The original post says "generic" fighter, but what is a generic fighter? If guidelines for creating this guy can be established, I would find it interesting to grab one of my friends and see just how long it would take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop ;) ![]()

![]() So, a couple of weeks back I joined the killer GM club, and quite frankly I hate it. I only hope I didn't drive away players. At least one was fairly ticked seeing as scenario completion would have meant a level up. I am only a mildly experienced GM in general and the TPK was on my 3rd PFS session. I kind of wished I had backed off and done more to insure a party win. I was running #29 The Devil You Know part 1 and was told afterward that the scenario was fairly notorious for killing players, but I still feel pretty bad for my players. ![]()

I believe that hex maping is from Games Workshop's "Mighty Empires" set. They are made of plastic, come unpainted and you can interlock them however you want ![]()

I absolutely love Worldworks. I have quite a few of the sets and have big dreams of building tons of terrain. Unfortunately I have only brought one piece to a game session ... so far. Two weeks ago I put together an Inn for an encounter in the Pathfinder Society scenario I was running. I got the board out, arranged all of the pieces, and set the stage for a lively fight .... Only my PCs walk in, turn the antagonist friendly, arrange a deal and walk out in about 2 minutes. =) ![]()

Not sure how much PFS will be going on there as of now. Perhaps between all of us playing in the area we can organize something. ![]()
![]() Weary pathfinders in southeast Virginia now have another place to kick up their feet and tell some tales. We are just starting to get PFS up and running at our store. Hopefully it will take hold and grow. So, if you're in the area and want to stop in, feel free. Atlantis Games and Comics
Or visit our sister lodge: Atlantis Games and Comics
http://www.atlantis-comics.com I also started a google group to help spread information about PFS not only for our games, but anything happening nearby https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/pfs-seva ![]()

I was finally able to get mine the other day from my LGS. Shipping delays and routing errors had me pulling out my hair. I have to agree the quality is top notch. I was a bit skeptical that it would be worth the price tag. I am pleased to say my worries turned out to be unfounded. The art style is awesome. I would love to see wallpapers for all of the covers. The bestiary is very cool, adding new monsters and all. My favorite would have to be the Attic Whisperer ... extremely cool. The only niggling negative would be the font size. My old eyes would love a slightly larger font, but I can live with that minor gripe =) Good job all. |
