Sorry about out the delays. I don't know how many posts Paizo ate this week, where I typed up posts and Paizo was back down when I submitted. It was frustrating, but I hope that things get smoother, and the game can pick back up better. BTW Passing on the perception, since I have a -1 maxing me out at 19.

"I'm not talking to any men, I'm talking to the Halfling. If you are including yourself among men, you are throwing around the term very liberally. My question to the halfing was specifically because those are skills often taught to them. Field halfings learn farming and livestock trades. House halflings might be more likely to learn crafts like sewing or cooking. Based on the carvings I identified, those skills could be of use to us, so I wanted to know what kind of Halfling we have with us. Of course he may just be a street Halfling, untrained in anything but picking pockets. That is good information for all of us as well, since you'd know to keep better watch of your coin purse."

"Make sure you get the rubbings of the farmer, shepherd, and the tailor. I will need those when I make my report upon our return. "
"Well get on your hands and knees and let the gnome step up to reach it. Do I have to think of everything? I had hoped that the pathfinders recruited a more intelligent breed of furfoot than most of those we have in Cheliax. Between chasing minotaurs, falling in pits, and not being able to reach high spots, I am finding myself disappointed." The Chelaxian moves on from the carvings, as if expecting the tasks to just get done now that he gave instructions.

history: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 "This site seems to have once been important to the church of Aroden. The carvings are so old, they are barely readable unfortunately. I can make out a fisherman, scholar, shepherd, and soldier here. I can only assume some of these others were at one time the other eight guises, but they haven't held up to time." He begins to walk away from the carving. "Although I care little about dead gods and their cults, I suppose the elf will want a record of this with our report. Halfling, take a rubbing. I trust you have been trained in such things? If not, have the gnome show you."

Benedikt mutters half under his breath, "Halfing should know better than to try a jump with those short legs." Now to see if I eat my words! The militant wizard backs up to get a running start, getting a head of steam up before leaping to attempt to clear the pit. acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
"I don't see any more ropes in here, but a number of these items will likely be useful as we find another way out of here."[b] Benedict reads off the scroll of mage armor. Satisfied the spell worked, he tucks the mage armor and burning hands wands into his belt, along with the scrolls. [b]"There are a number of potions, alchemical supplies, and a healing wand as well. We should divide them up so we don't need to transport this pack across the pit. The Halfling has likely been trampled or skewered by now, so she won't be needing it."

A Chelaxian man standing with a military posture and a large blade strapped to his back watches the master of scrolls exit. "Well that was rather abrupt. And now the furfoot is going to lead us? This certainly isn't starting out well." He shakes his head, before looking to see the rest of the group has been brought together on this occasion. "I am Benedikt, Benedikt Karsten."
