I already asked this question some time ago, but I was not satisfied with the answers so I guess I’ll give another try.
According to the Leadership feat, a monster cohort should advance by taking levels in a key class. A cassisian angel (cohort level 4), however, is a special role monster and has no key class. If it were to advance in level as a NPC, its first 2 class levels would increase its CR by 1 only. Would this apply to its cohort advancement too? Would a cassisian with 2 sorcerer levels be a 5th- or 6th-level cohort?

I would like to publish a little something on Pathfinder Infinite for the Omdura and Vampire Hunter classes (PF1), but I am wondering since the books they appeared in are not “setting neutral”. Would this be allowed?

Let’s say a minotaur with 3 brawler levels has the Feral Combat Training feat and so can integrate its gore attack in its brawler’s flurry.
Does it do 1 unarmed strike attack + 1 gore attack, or 2 unarmed strike attacks + 1 gore attack?

I am trying to remember if there is a feat or an ability (possibly mythic, possibly 3PP) that allows to shoot a sword with a bow as if it were an arrow... you know, like Uryu Ishida does in Bleach. Because if there isn't, then I would like to create it. I half remember to have seen something like that somewhere, but I can't remember where...

I am converting the characters of a novel I like to PF1. One of them is a cleric that becomes able to use a powerful ritual or magic ability to create an extradimensional, invisible trap for a tarrasque. When the beast is deceived to enter the trap, it vanishes in another dimension forever.
Is there a way to do this in Pathfinder, or should I homebrew an occult ritual/spell/magic item "ad hoc"?

Besides Intimidating Prowess, are there any feats allowing to change a skill’s relevant ability? Let’s say, allowing a drummer to use Str or Con with his Perform skill instead of Cha?

My very first work for Pathfinder Infinite is out! I make mythic all the alchemist discoveries not covered in the Mythic Hero's Handbook.
Please enjoy it!

One weird ability of nongood clerics in 2E was “turning paladins”. Some Planescape books then expanded it telling that both good and evil characters with power over undead could turn powerful outsiders, priests, and champions of an opposite alignment.
Is there a way, RAW, to replicate this ability in Pathfinder? I know that there are fear spells, but the flavor is not quite the same.

Ok, then- I have been struggling with this character for YEARS and finally I found two ideas that very nearly capture the flavor I had in mind. Help me to choose, please- or point out if there’s something better!
He has to be a reformed CE rogue/lord of undead that is currently CN and on the way to become TN. He has trapfinding, command undead, and a familiar. Best of all would be a mix of arcane and divine spells, but it’s not mandatory. I like the idea of him fighting with a spear, but since dhampirs have a high Dexterity I would love finding a way to finesse it.

1st build- Unchained Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel) VMC Oracle of Bones. The main points here are that he wouldn’t be proficient with any armor (though Armor of Bones could obviate to this), the command undead ability would be reduced, and his familiar would arrive only at 12th level, after taking minor magic and major magic. Powerless prophecy would give him uncanny dodge from 1st level and later improved uncanny dodge, and finesse training + the 3PP rogue talent Expanded Finesse Training would allow to use Dex with his spear. Great spells: Command Undead, Legend Lore.

2nd build- Oracle of Bones (Seeker). Gets trapfinding, uncanny dodge/Improved uncanny dodge (with Powerless Prophecy), full-powered command undead and armor use, but must spend feats to get a familiar. Great spells: Call Spirit.

3rd build- mix of the two? Is it viable or too underwhelming?

Possible PrCs: Proctor or Soul Warden.

Ok, so… the Outer Channeler medium. It seems great. Even better than the original (if it could stack with Relic Channeler, it would be the BEST).
But… there are a couple things.
-When an Outer Channeler is channeling a Hierophant spirit, losing his intermediate ability (channel energy) makes the greater ability useless (since it applies to a creature healed with positive or negative energy).
-When an Outer Channeler uses trance of three, which intermediate power does he gain from the secondary spirit, since his outsider spirit power should replace the intermediate power of all spirits channeled? Does he gain the power of the base spirit? Does he not gain a power at all?

Does the Spirit Warden archetype’s Rebuke Undead allow to take the Command Undead feat? Since this archetype is clearly made to give the shaman access to the Soul Warden class, and since Command Undead is one of the bonus spells it grants, I’d say it should be possible.

Ok, this is the time for drastic measures.
I want a powerful rager who’s a divine caster and can bless her companions before battle and cure their wounds after battle- and go into a killing spree in the middle. I want a possessed warrior in service of a god. Spontaneous casting, may have or not a personalized spell list, may have or not a curse, uses a mystery.
Possibilities include:
-Adjust the prestige class to make it compatible with the Bloodrager and the Unchained rules.
-An archetype for the Warpriest or the Bloodrager.
-An alternate class for the Bloodrager.
-Other?
I want to create a complete manual with customized mysteries, new spells, archetypes and everything. Will you jump aboard? We have cookies.

An evil sorcerer was a lord of undead before being forced to a long penance. He had a quasit bloodline familiar that didn't disappear with his alignment change from CE to CN, and continues to tempt and torture him. He thinks this is part of his penance.
Actually, the quasit was killed and now a mockingfey is the new familiar of the sorcerer. It has the Prankster archetype so it can keep its real thoughts and alignment hidden to its master. Sometimes, though, it has to take the form of a raven or other animal to "travel incognito".
Now, can the mockingfey assume the quasit's shape again by looking at an image of the quasit? It cannot assume the shape of a creature again "without a visual reference", but does that mean that it has to see the creature in the flesh, or is a portrait enough? Is there a magic item that could do the trick?

Righteous Fist Amulet wrote:
While the wearer is using her divine powers of retribution (such as a cleric’s smite, an inquisitor’s smiting judgment, or a paladin’s smite), the amulet grants her the ability to make unarmed strikes in melee combat as if she had the Improved Unarmed Strike feat.

What does "cleric's smite" mean? I don't thinks it's Channel Smite. Could it be a smiting spell, or some domain power?

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere a cool 4th-level wizard spell whose name was Burst of Frost and Flame, but I can't find anymore which book it was in, and I have too many PDFs to search one by one! Someone please can put me on the right path?

So my Inquisitor VMC Witch has a Cassisian familiar. He later will take levels in Sentinel and once he gains Leadership as a bonus feat, he would like to use the RGG Horrifically Powered feat Cohort Familiar to make the Cassisian his cohort too (it's a mythic campaign and I feel that the feat is weak enough to be granted as mythic).
Question: a monster cohort should advance taking levels in a key class, but since the Cassisian is a special role monster, no class is a key class for it. The character wishes to give it levels in Shapechanger Sorcerer (he really wishes for it to transform into a hippogriff to ride).
At 17th level and with Cha 18, he can have a 15th level cohort. A standard Cassisian is cohort level 4. How many sorcerer levels should I grant the cohort to bring it to 15th level? 11 or 12?

How come there's Coupled Arcana and Coupled Phenomena as mythic path abilities for an Archmage but no divine equivalent for a Hierophant? I would homebrew something like this:

New Hierophant 1st Tier Path Ability
Twin Graces (Su):
Whenever you spend a standard action, move action, or swift action to activate a domain power, revelation, warpriest blessing, shaman spirit power, or shaman hex, you can also activate an ability that uses mythic power as a free action. The mythic ability you activate must require the same action type as the other ability you activated or faster (a swift action is faster than a move action, and a move action is faster than a standard action).

More than a question, but all could apply to the same character... please help me solve this:
A while ago I asked advice about a LG oracle going mythic Hierophant. Let's say she takes levels in Exalted and gains the Good/Redemption domain at 5th level.
-Could she use the Conduit of Divine Will mythic path ability with the domain's spell-like abilities?
-Could she cast her domain spells in place of her mystery spells?
-If she has Divine Source too, could she replace her domain spell-like abilities with the ones from the domains she grants?

Those of you who know my Pathfinder blog know that until now I only posted 1st edition material created by me. But starting from today, 2nd-edition posts will begin to appear too!
This is the first one, a heritage feat for humans: Boundless Ambition
Also, if you like, please donate to [url=https://www.patreon.com/MargheritaTramontano my Patreon[/url]!

So in P1 I had a homebrew deity whose favored weapon was ray. Is ray considered a weapon in P2 too? Could I convert my deity to the new rules as it was before?

So there's a LG oracle who went Mythic and took Divine Source, the Redemption subdomain, and Conduit of Divine Will.
Divine Source says:

If you're a cleric or you venerate a deity, you may change your spell domains to those you grant others.

Does this mean that an oracle may replace her mystery spells with those of her selected domains?
Plus: does Conduit of Divine Will work with mystery spells too? Would it work with domain spells replacing mystery spells?
And so: would my oracle be able to cast Atonement as a standard action by combining those two mythic abilities?

So, probably the Advanced Player’s Guide will give us causes for evil and maybe neutral Champions, but there will be more after these? If would be a little strict if every CG champion must be a Liberator, every LG one a Paladin, and so on. I could see LG Enforcers, NG Defenders and CG Dreamers, just to name a few.

Does a Magical Companion gain a talents progression as a low-level caster, or is limited to talents it can acquire in place of feats?

Let’s say I am a Shapechanger Bloodline sorcerer with levels in shaman. I can extend the duration of transmutation spells I cast on myself only. If I cast polymorph familiar on my spirit animal, can I extend the duration of that spell or not?

2nd Edition could be a GREAT moment to deal with the divine characters' ability to cast EVERY spell in their list. Not every god would grant every spell, after all.
I know it probably would be too much work to divide all divine spells into spheres again as they were in AD&D. But we have schools and, maybe better, descriptors. We could rule that a deity only grants spells with some descriptors, or bans spells of a certain school/subschool.

First archetype published on my blog: the Hearthguard, a dwarven warpriest bound to defend the community's weakest members in times of war.

Kiseru was available as a weapon in 2E, and I'm almost certain I saw one for Pathfinder somewhere. One of my characters wants to use it, so can you help me find the right book before I try to create it myself?

Does the Mindlink spell allow a two-way communication, or does it allow just the caster to pass informations to the subject?

Well, yes, I have a husband and two little sons who love Lego and Ninjago. And I was challenged to recreate the Ninjas in Pathfinder.
Well, one starting point was the kineticist without a doubt. My eldest absolutely loved that class from the start and associated it to the Ninja's elemental powers. After some thought, I discarded the Elemental Ascetic archetype. It can deliver only touch elemental attacks, while we want to fire rays too.
The Pathfinder ninja wasn't a great choice. Too much stealth, too few flashy powers. We want a monk. Plus, he needs to be able to deliver elemental attacks with his weapon, and to make a Whirlwind Attack! Ninja-Go!
So I decided for a multiclass Vanilla Kineticist/Qinggong Monk with the Ascetic combat style chain. Since the Kinetic Fist wild talent is an ability that "improves unarmed strike", the style feats should allow the characters to use it with their weapon of choice.
What do you think? Could I do something else to go even nearer to the show characters?

vigilante playtest wrote:
Although not as tied to the tenets of the deity as a cleric, a zealot vigilante must still hold such guidelines in high regard, despite that fact he can go against them if it serves his crusade and goals.

Does this mean that a Zealot has not the same alignment restrictions as clerics, inquisitors and warpriests? Can he have a very different alignment from his deity? I already made this question, but without an answer.

If so, then the Zealot is the only character who can use a domain without alignment bonds, which makes him VERY interesting....

The Advanced Class Guide presented a great many "hybrid archetypes" and class features, giving a class the powers and flavor of another, but you will agree with me that there can be many, many others. Also, some old archetypes are now obsolete with the new rules and need to be rebuilt. For example, now that panache and the Swashbuckler class exist, how should the Swashbuckler archetype for rogues change? And how should the Spirit Ranger be adjusted now that we have rules for shamanic spirits?
So I decided to open this thread to host all our hybrid creations, rebuildings or requests. This is my first one, a rewriting of the Swashbuckler Rogue from the APG- now with panache! Feel free to critique, request an archetype/feature, or post your own.

Daring Scoundrel (Rogue)

Joining the audacious deeds of a swashbuckler with the subtle mobility of legendary thefts, a daring scoundrel is a romantic figure, a smiling shadow that leaves the rich without their most cherished treasures, and the maidens without their hearts.

Fencer (Ex): At 1st level, the daring scoundrel may select one martial weapon to add to her list of weapon proficiencies. This ability replaces trapfinding.
Daring (Ex): At 2nd level, a daring scoundrel gains the swashbuckler’s panache class feature and one 1st–level deed of her choice. She may regain panache through critical hits and killing blows scored with her sneak attack ability, other than with normal means. This ability replaces the 2nd–level rogue talent.
Deeds: A daring scoundrel can choose any swashbuckler deed in place of a rogue talent. She must meet the chosen deeds’ prerequisites.

Rogue Talents: The following rogue talents complement the daring scoundrel archetype: acrobatic stunt, climbing stunt, convincing lie, finesse rogue, offensive defense, positioning attack, powerful sneak, steal the story, and weapon training.

Advanced Talents: The following advanced rogue talents complement the daring scoundrel archetype: crippling strike, entanglement of blades, redirect attack, and unwitting ally.

Since Matthew Duval created the Everbloom Monk archetype for RPG Superstar 2013, I loved it. It's a great way to make a NG or CG monk without changing what a monk is at the core (plus, Milani is one of my favourite deities). When I picture my Prince Luminous (one of the characters I use for my flavor texts in Wayfinder), I see him as a NG Qinggong Everbloom Monk (with Cavalier levels, but this is another story).
Now that the Unchained Monk is out, I'm still thinking if reskinning the character with this version of che class would be worth the effort. Sure, I'd love the extra BAB with weapons, but maybe I'm not ready to give up the good Will save.
In the meanwhile, I tried to adjust the archetype using the Everyman Gaming suggestions. Of course, I informed Matt of this. So, if you like, there it is. I hope Matt will like it too.

Everbloom Monk (Unchained)
The everbloom monk finds her strength in her faith, honing her mind and body to be a vessel for Milani’s liberating power. She provides courage and hope for any who wish to live free from tyranny.
Alignment: chaotic good, chaotic neutral, neutral good
Class Skills: The everbloom monk gains Diplomacy and Heal as class skills and does not gain Intimidate as a class skill.
Ring the Temple Bell (Su): At 2nd level, the everbloom monk can restore a creature to its right mind with a resounding strike. She can use this attack once per day, and additional times per day by expending uses of stunning fist. She must announce her intent before making her attack roll. If she strikes successfully, the attack deals no damage. Instead, it removes the dazed and shaken conditions. At 5th level and higher it removes additional effects.
At 5th level it removes the cowering and frightened conditions.
At 8th level it removes the fascinated and panicked conditions.
At 11th level it removes the confused, paralyzed, and stunned conditions.
At 14th level it makes a targeted dispel against enchantment spells and abilities affecting the creature, using the monk’s level as her caster level.
This ability replaces the bonus feat gained at 2nd level and the 16th level monk ki power.
Tongue of the Flowing River (Ex): At 4th level, the everbloom monk gains a +2 bonus to Diplomacy skill checks and may influence anyone who can hear her. She may choose to be heard regardless of ambient noise and silence effects when making these checks. This ability replaces still mind.
Ki Pool (Su): The everbloom monk channels Milani's power, rather than her own energies. She uses her Charisma modifier in place of her Wisdom modifier to determine the size of her ki pool.
At 10th level, ki strike allows her unarmed attacks to be treated as chaotic weapons, if she is chaotic aligned, and good weapons, if she is good aligned, for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction. This ability replaces ki strike (lawful).
The everbloom monk gains all other ki pool abilities as normal.
Sworn to the Everbloom (Su): At 14th level, an everbloom monk is immune to charm and compulsion spells and abilities, as long as she has a ki point available in her ki pool. This ability replaces the monk’s 14th level ki power.
True Freedom (Ex): At 20th level, the everbloom monk is immune to spells and effects that restrict movement, including binding, entangle, grappling, imprisonment, maze, paralysis, petrification, pinning, sleep, slow, stunning, temporal stasis, and web, and can travel freely through any spell or effect that blocks movement. She still suffers any damage or other effects for doing so. Finally, the monk gains the ability to enter a state of perfect calm. During this time, the monk can take no actions, but she does regain ki at the rate of 1 point per 10 minutes spent at calm. She cannot use this ability to gain an amount of ki in excess of his maximum. This ability replaces perfect self.

If a character were a multiclass Divine Hunter/Cleric (or inquisitor, or druid) with the Animal domain, I suppose that domain abilities would stack. Would the character receive the double ability score increase for her animal companion, or could she add her cleric level -3 to her hunter level for the purpose of determinating her animal companion's abilities? Would she add her domain spells to both her spell lists?

I have a magus with a cassisian familiar who took the Mythic Familiar mythic class ability (from RGG's Base Mythic Class Abilities). He is a 2nd tier mythic character, so the angel should gain 1 mythic rank with two abilities. I think that a shapechanger familiar able to become an hyppogriff to ride or a parrot on your shoulder would be great, so I'm giving her the change shape (greater polymorph) universal monster ability as a mythic ability. Should it count as one ability or two? It's pretty powerful, but a regular cassisian already has change shape (polymorph), so replacing this with that should count as one... Or not?

I bought Legendary Games' Path of the Stranger and Path of the Genius on Friday. I can't download the latter file. The download doesn't start.

When I come to the order checkout page, the "place your order" button is disabled.
Does it have something to do with the office being closed for the weekend?

So... Strongblade contacted me a while ago asking some more informations on the iconic character for the Obedient Diabolist prestige archetype I wrote for Wayfinder #11. I had promised to write her complete stats if the issue had got at least 3 reviews. This didn't happen, but since Strongblade seemed very interested in her, I made an effort.
And here she is. Let me know if the link works, because this is my first Google Doc.

Lady Jade Black

It's been a real struggle to decide if she should be an Oracle, or a Witch. The Heavens Mystery seemed to fit very well my concept of the character (I was tempted to give her the Solar or Apocalypse mystery, but they didn't just fit as well), but she really would have needed some witch spell on her list. On the other hand, she wasn't the type to have a familiar. For a while I thought of her as a Magister, but I wasn't quite satisfied with that. The Advanced Class Guide solved my problem with the Spirit Guide archetype for oracles: a shamanic oracle is definitely what she is.
As for my inspiration source, let's just say that I used the template of my most hated manga villain. That's all, folks...

Should Half-blood extraction be available to half-orc shamans? It's on the cleric, druid and witch spell list, so I guess it should. At 5th level or more?

It seems my previous thread was somehow cancelled, so I ask again... Can the Soul Warden prestige class from the Undead Slayer's Handbook take the Command Undead feat? Since he channels positive energy, that shouldn't be possibile, but he does have Undead control powers, and the text says that the ability qualifies for all feats or effects related to channel energy (not positive energy only).

I can't seem to find anywhere a rule on mounts' attacks in mounted combat. More specific- when a cavalier charges, does his mount attack at the same time as the rider, and does it gain the same benefits from the charge?
