I don't think a post was ever made letting Bitey know he was up. Balthasr, pressed by both enemies, knows the odd looking Tiefling is a greater enemy. He calls out, "For Iomedae and the Crusades!" Holy light bathes Radiance as he swings his sword at the enemy. Swift Action to use Weal's Champion on the Odd Looking Tiefling. Weal's Champion:
Weal’s Champion (Su): Once per day as swift action, a holy tactician can call on the powers of good to aid her against evil. Against evil targets, the holy tactician gains her Charisma bonus (if any) on her attack rolls against evil creatures, and if she hits, she adds 1/2 her paladin level on her weapon damage rolls as well. These bonuses last for 1 round for every two paladin levels the holy tactician has attained (minimum 1 round). In addition, for 1 round after the holy tactician successfully strikes an evil creature, all non-evil allies within 30 feet of her gain a competence bonus on attack rolls equal to 1/2 her Charisma bonus against that creature as well as a +1 competence bonus on damage rolls. The bonus on damage rolls increases by +1 for every five levels the holy tactician attains (to a maximum of +5 at 20th level). She can grant this bonus against more than one creature at a time. To gain this benefit, the holy tactician’s allies must be able to see or hear her, and she must be conscious.
Attack, Weal's Champion, Mythic Surge: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 12 + 2 + (6) = 22
ACTIVE PARTY BUFFS: +1 competence bonus on attack and damage rolls against the target of my Weal's Champion for 1 round - applies within 30'. Status:

I think for Play-by-post, it would be best to do a battle within a battle - we (the active party) take on, say, the army's commander, with the outcome of our battle deciding the outcome of the overall battle. We'll place Irabeth in command of the army itself for the battle, I think, so we can do that. While our army of Paladins has a +12 OM on the first melee phase of the battle with Smite Evil, Standard Tactics, and a Balanced Strategy, and +10 OM in the Ranged phase which could quickly rout the enemy army, it could be boring for everyone who isn't making mass combat rolls - and if it lasts longer than one battle phase, could be even more boring.

Balthasar considers. "Hmmm...if they're rather disorganized, there's a chance that we can catch them unawares, if we move quick enough. Serena, Aravashnial, are there any magical effects you can use to distract or confuse them, as Thrall suggests?"

Balthasar makes sure his armor is appropriately polished before heading to bed to get a good night's sleep before the journey. In the morning, he rides out at the head of the column with Irabeth and Standard Kain, discussing deployments with them. Once they are clear of the city, he deploys the scouts, making sure they know not to get so far beyond the army that it takes them too long to report back. He also deploys riders to watch for flanking maneuvers, and orders the paladins to remain alert - they were entering hostile territory, after all, and the demons would not flee simply because they asked nicely. Everyone else is welcome to join me at the head of the column - I just didn't want to speak for anyone else.

Anevia still has a broken leg, I believe. Since Irabeth is coming, Anevia is coming. They aren't going anywhere without each other. "We'll need to get Anevia's leg healed if she's to help with the physical scouting. Arianna, you'll assist with the scouting. If we can't get Anevia's leg healed, she can coordinate scouting reports and provide her insight. Having one of us physically able to see what's before us, though, will help with providing a first-hand accounting of any obstacles we face." Balthasar looks at the maps, then says, "We can probably expect some opposition at predictable points. Valas's Gift may hold some demonic forces, and they'll definitely have forces at Vilareth Ford. Once we're across the Sellen River, we should be fairly clear until we reach the Ahari Riverbed. There may be more demons there we'll have to face before we reach Drezen."

Looking over the map, Balthasar nods in agreement. ”Let’s move out as quickly as we can. Hopefully we’ll catch any demonic forces off-guard if we can move swiftly enough.” We’ll take the recommended route, I think.

Balthasar considers a moment, then seeks out Sosiel and asks, "Sosiel, we have a companion, Aravashnial, who lost his sight in the attack on Kenabres. Would you happen to know any clerical magic that could help him restore his sight, or where we could find some?"

GM, I said we should invite Irabeth, Anevia, and Aravashnial above. "While the Citadel is our objective, I believe Drezen consists of more than just the fortress. The mere presence of a crusader army in the area should serve to draw out the bulk of their forces, leaving an infiltration team with plenty of room to further sabotage them. We don't need to launch a direct assault on the fortress right away. I suspect we will need to surgically eliminate their leadership, and then let the demons' inherently chaotic instincts further weaken their coordination."

Once they’ve gone over their inventory, Balthasar rejoins the others. ”If we were to do that, we would be best suited to using the army to draw out their forces while our raiding party circles around from the back. Remember, we don’t know what they’ve left in Drezen, or what we’ll have to fight through on the way there.”

"Well met, Standard Kain. I'll want to look over our supplies before we head out, so let's move out in the morning. Retaking Drezen will be no mean feat, and I don't want us to be caught unprepared. We will likely need..." Balthasar motioned the Standard to walk with him towards the supply carts as he spoke, thinking of the kinds of supplies they would need for the expedition. GM, we've been given an army, which I'm guessing means some form of the Mass Combat rules. Are we going to need to make sure the army is outfitted with any kind of siege equipment or something like that?

It would be rude to sell the Morningstar - the Mongrelman leader gave it to us as a sign of friendship. As for demons, I think the halberd demon was a Schir Demon. Not sure what the stag demon was. We were only level 5 when we fought the babau demons, I thought - we leveled up to 6 afterwards. EDIT: We did recover intelligence about the location of demonic safe houses in the city, yes.

Balthasar knelt at the Queen’s order, and accepted being knighted. Finally, I am living up to the family name. Rising at the Queen’s command, Balthasar follows her to where their forces wait. To each of the lieutenants, he clasps their hand and says, ”Well met.” Once introductions to the lieutenants are finished, Balthasar stands at the top of a nearby step, and calls out, ”Faithful Crusaders, I bid you welcome. We face difficult challenges ahead - crossing demon-infested lands and retaking Citadel Drezen will be dangerous. I have faith, however, in the strength of our conviction and the righteousness of our cause. Together, we shall strike a blow to the demonic forces of the Worldwound, and show them that our faith cannot be shaken, our conviction cannot be led astray, and that our victory is inevitable!” Throughout Balthasar’s speech, it is plain to everyone that he believes what he says, and that he appears quite comfortable giving it. In fact, it seems as though being knighted has removed a weight from his shoulders, where most would see the increased responsibility as adding more weight. Descending the stairs, he says to the others, ”I agree. If Irabeth is willing to accompany us, we should bring her. She likely won’t come without Anevia, and I think Aravashnial’s knowledge and arcane powers may come in handy as well. We should invite him, too.” Looking over at Sosiel, he walks over and says, ”Sosiel, one of our companions was a paladin of Shelyn by the name of Iolaire. She was slain by demons. We’ve buried her, but had no Shelynite who could say the proper words over her. Would you mind doing so, before we depart?”

Both were alive before the events of Armasse, however, his Uncle Henrik lived in Kenabres, and he hasn't been seen since the city fell. His brother, Silas, was with his regiment, and so out of the city, but he hasn't heard from him since the attack. Balthasar's mother and a couple of aunts and uncles also lived in Kenabres, and they may be dead, as well. Basically, as much of Balthasar's family is still alive as you need to be alive.

Knowledge (nobility), pertains to liege: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20 Balthasar remembered a story his mother had told him about his great-grandfather saving Queen Galfrey’s life during the First Crusade, and knew that despite her youthful appearance, she had served as the Crusades’ leader since the beginning. A woman of strong faith in Iomedae, Balthasar had been proud to follow in his family’s footsteps by swearing an oath to serve her and Mendev. Balthasar was not naive - some would call the destruction of the Wardstone fragments and loss of the barrier treason. Balthasar would have thought the same, had he not understood the threat. He was just glad his liege didn’t think so. At the news Aponavicious had lead most of Drezen’s armies south, Balthasar listened as the Queen tasked them with journeying to Drezen and retake it. At last. My great-great-grandfather shall be avenged, and maybe I can even recover his body to be properly buried. Aloud, he said, ”I would be honored to accept this task, Your Majesty. It is a bold stroke that will keep the demons on their heels.”

Actually, they will. The Purchase limit is for any single item, not everything. I could have been more clear on that, sorry. Base Value only applies to magic items, I believe, not mundane items - otherwise there would be a 25% chance of no one in town selling a backpack, or trail rations.

Oh, well, that's certainly higher than I thought it would be. I figured Kenabres was downgraded to a "Small Town" in all aspects due to the widespread devastation. I should have realized Paizo would give it a special stat block for that.

Craft Magic Arms and Armor is the feat. As for settlement rules, there's two relevant values for things to buy. -Base Value: This is the value for available magic items in GP. There is a 75% chance that any magic item up to this value is available in the city. If the check fails, it may be attempted again in one week to see if the item has become available. -Purchase Limit: This is the maximum any shop within the city can spend to purchase an item the PCs are selling. If an item's value is above the purchase limit, then the PCs either have to settle for a lower price find a bigger city, or, if the GM allows, find a specific buyer with deep pockets to buy it. The stat block also lists the specific items above the settlement's base value that are available for purchase, which is the list ToxicStar posted above. I believe Kenabres' base value to, currently, be about 2000 gp, based on the purchase limit of 10,000 gp. So, any magic item with a value less than that has a 75% chance to be available. This says nothing about mundane items. EDIT: I flagged a couple of things on the list we might want to keep. Serena, for instance, may want the masterwork backpack to boost carrying capacity, and a couple of the scrolls may come in handy down the line. EDIT 2: I also noticed we didn't include any loot from the Grey Garrison in there. Not too concerned about it, since Wrath is pretty loot-forward, but something to point out.

I got sick on Monday and completely forgot to post here! I'm a paladin, so I'll pass on the cloak of resistance until we have more. With the news the Queen would be coming, Balthasar spent the day polishing up his armor as best he could - he really did need a proper set of armor, but at the moment, such things were in short supply. Still, he did his best. He also does his best to find chicken for Bitey. Balthasar nods in agreement. "We will be ready to see the Queen as soon as she is ready. Defender's Heart is the most secure building in the city, at the moment, so it is probably the best place to meet. However, if it is more convenient, we will travel to her camp."
I'm GMT-5. I can typically do real-time Discord after 8 PM my time during the week, although with a new baby, it may be difficult sometimes. We were also looking at doing a bit more 3PP besides Serena's bloodline. The previous GM was going to have us use the additional Mythic Rules on the Spheres of Power wiki, which does include one feat I'd intended to take, Mythic Leadership (after regular Leadership, of course). I took the Natural-Born Leader trait as well to go with that. If Leadership isn't something you would want to deal with, I'd ask to swap that trait for a different social trait that makes sense for the character.

Good news! Someone has expressed an interest in taking over. The thread is here. ToxicStar is going to read over the Gameplay thread and give us the opportunity to ask any relevant questions about their experience and style, and then we can decide if we think they are a good fit.
We had several of the original players drop. The five listed are the ones who remain. We originally had a paladin of Shelyn who had Radiance. My original idea for my character was to dip bard and go for the Battle Herald Prestige Class, since we had so many people who would be making attack rolls, but after the paladin was forced to drop from the game, I chose to switch it up for Holy Tactician Paladin so that Radiance would stay in the party.
Good day, fellow gamers! I am posting here because we need a new GM for a Wrath of the Righteous Play-by-Post we're doing. Real life medical issues have unfortunately forced our GM to step away from the game, and we are looking to continue the campaign! We just finished Book 1 of the AP, and leveled up to 6 with our first Mythic Tier. The Gameplay thread can be found here. The current cast of characters is: Balthasar Heimrin, Human Cavalier (Standard Bearer) 4/Paladin (Holy Tactician) 2//Marshal 1, wielder of Radiance
Please feel free to check out the Gameplay thread, and decide if we're the right group for you to run through this AP!

Balthasar returns the scouts' salutes. "Down Bitey. We'll get you chicken as soon as we can," Balthasar says. To the scouts, he says, "That is good news. Kenabres has been hard hit. The demons last fortress in the city we knew of was the Grey Garrison - we took it yesterday. They had a plan to use the fragments of the Kenabres Wardstone - shattered in the attack on the city - and plans to use them to subvert the protective field and use it to transform all of the Crusaders into demons. After we disrupted their plan, they may have fallen back to lick their wounds."

Balthasar enters the conference room, Radiance at his side. Somewhere he'd found a holy symbol of Iomedae to wear. The banner of Mendev is hung on the wall - tattered and a little dirty, but proudly displayed. In the end, the crusaders had managed to hold Kenabres, and had prevented Areelu Vorlesh's plot to use the Wardstone fragments to turn the crusaders into demons. Balthasar approaches the scouts and says, "Balthasar Heimrin. A pleasure to meet you both." He then waits on Irabeth to speak with them. After all, a command chain is a command chain.
