Male Human Barbarian 1

"A very good idea. Would you like me on point? I have a bed feeling about this place."

Male Human Barbarian 1

Balnar stays with the casters for just now. This is too good a spot for there to be an ambush to take the chance.

Male Human Barbarian 1

"Best we give the magic users time to rest. We are probably going to need every advantage we can get."

Male Human Barbarian 1

At what he judges to be an hour or so before dawn, Balnar nadges Rall awake. "Keep an ear open," he murmurs, "I am pretty well certain we were followed by that 3rd one but for some reason he does not want to make a move."

He waits a moment or 2 for any reply Rall has then gets himself settled for some hard earned sleep.

Male Human Barbarian 1

Readying his axe, Balnar scans he darkness for the one who is stalking the group.

Male Human Barbarian 1

Although tired, Balnar keeps a vigilant watch.

Perception Check: (1d20+6=21)

Male Human Barbarian 1

"A very good idea. You all try to get some sleep and I'll take first watch." Nodding to Rall, Balnar continues, "I'll wake you an hour or so before dawn so's I can get a little shuteye too."

Male Human Barbarian 1

With a slight step to the side to open the a greater angle of attack and to allow Rall to flank if this bastard is still up next round, Balnar takes a swing that is although accurate, not as damaging as it could be.

Attack: (1d20+5=23, 3d6+6=12) Sorry, subtract 2 from that attack roll, used the wrong modifier)

Male Human Barbarian 1

Aeryn's PC is screwed at the moment. He will post whenever he gets access to a working pc, but for now he asks that he be NPC'd if necessary.

Male Human Barbarian 1

With a battle cry, Balnar charges the north monster.

Attack Roll: (1d20+5=21)
Damage: (3d6+6=15)

Male Human Barbarian 1

With a curt nod, Balnar agrees. The focused look on his face giving away almost immediately that he is primed for another brawl.

Male Human Barbarian 1

With the sound stopping suddenly, Balnar knows the element of surprise is lost and makes an attempt at bum rushing the first opponent he sees.

If he is able to get an attack in:

Attack Roll: (1d20+5=22) (-2 if he cannot get a charge in)
Damage Roll: (3d6+6=13)

Male Human Barbarian 1

Stealth Check: (1d20+2=22)

Hefting his axe, Balnar starts moving towards the goblins with surprising stealth.

If needed, Initiative Check: (1d20+2=14)

Male Human Barbarian 1

Balnar shakes his head when he realised what Bowen is trying to do. He waves his hand to get to get everyone's attention, then holds up one hand.

He silently counds down from three on his fingers then makes a punching motion, waiting to see if the others understand before jerking his head in the direction of the goblins.

Male Human Barbarian 1

"If we must travel through the night, then so be it. But first I must ask Fee something," turning to Fee and looking him in the eye, "do you feel that you could keep up with us? Or would you prefer to hitch a ride on my back? Either way is OK by me, but do be aware that if we do travel on by night, we will want to move as quickly as we can afford to to get to those kids."

Male Human Barbarian 1

"Give me a few minutes to rest and I shall be ready to move on, that fight was rather draining." Taking another long pull from his waterskin, Balnar leans back against a tree and closes his eyes, apparently trying to get his heavy breathing under control again.

Male Human Barbarian 1

With a primal roar, Balnar imbeds his axe in the closest tree and sits down, the power of his rage now burning his own muscles. "It had to be the kid didn't it?" he asks rheotrically.

Male Human Barbarian 1

I beleive you will find that Bowen's last strike has another 1d6+4 damage coming to it due to the confirmed critical strike if this makes a difference...

Attack: (1d20+7=25)
Damage: (3d6+9=14)

Male Human Barbarian 1

Fortitude Save: (1d20+6=15)

Ensuring that he is now in a flanking position with Rall, Balnar swings again...

Attack: (1d20+7=17)
Damage: (3d6+9=18)

As she attacks, she circles around Balnar, a little further away from Bowen.

Is she only moving 5 feet around me? or should I get an attack of opportunity due to her moving through threatened areas?

Male Human Barbarian 1

Round 1: move 40' to within reach of the beast, activating rage and power attack(1) and taking a swing...

Attack Roll: (1d20+4=24) - Critical threat!
Confirmation Roll: (1d20+4=9) - fail to confirm (dang)

Damage: (3d6+11=19).

Round 2: If he is still in my face, beat on him again. If not, charge if I can (Add 2 to attack and damage).

Attack Roll: (1d20+4=6) - (miss either way)

Male Human Barbarian 1

Listen Check: (1d20+6=26) (Yay for 20's)

And welcome to Aeryn and Arla

Male Human Barbarian 1

Balnar bolts from the hut, headed for Jeva as fast as he can.

Initiative: (1d20+2=14)

Male Human Barbarian 1

Balnar is going to position himself by the door and keep an eye out for trouble.

"I really don't like this..." he can be heard to mutter.

Male Human Barbarian 1

Doh! got them mixed up

Male Human Barbarian 1

"Great, just great... Fee's dissappeared somewhere and I've got some great cursed nicks in me blade. It's gonna take a week to hammer these out." Grumbling and griping, Balnar eyeballs the remains of the cauldron, then the rest of the room.

Dropping his axehead to rest it on the ground, Balnar gathers his breath...

"FEE! Where in the name of Gorum's soggy jockstrap are you?!"

Having made enough noise to wake the dead 2 towns over, scare the girl nearby almost senseless and somehow managing to profane the god of combat's underwear all in one breath, a slightly panting Balnar starts looking for cupboards and other hidey-holes the diminuitive priest might turn up in.

At this point, Balnar is starting to get the look, which among men of Balnar's stature, tends to mean something is probably going to get thoroughly mangled in the near future.

Male Human Barbarian 1

Attack of Opportunity: (1d20+5=19)
Damage: (3d6+6=17)

Getting into his rhythm, Balnar's next swing is much more precise.

Male Human Barbarian 1

Attack: (1d20+5=12)

Balnar makes another swing and misses the surprising hard to hit pot.

Male Human Barbarian 1

Moving into a flanking position, Balnar takes slightly more careful aim than before and attempts to ring the death knell on this creature.

Attack: (1d20+5=20)
Damage: (3d6+6=20)

Male Human Barbarian 1

Sorry Rall, But i think you will find that longswords threaten a critical on a 19 or 20 and you rolled an 18 there.

Male Human Barbarian 1

Balnar all but roars with laughter at the absurdity of the challenge before him.

"Need an airhole my friend?" Balnar chuckles as he takes a good hard swing at the gluttonous pot.

Power Attack (1): (1d20+2=13)
Damage: (3d6+8=14)

Male Human Barbarian 1

Initiative Roll: (1d20+2=10)

Male Human Barbarian 1

Lets try this again...

Balnar picks up the dagger and stows it in his belt, before moving to join the others in examining the hut.

Male Human Barbarian 1

Curious, Balnar approaches the straw imp that he spotted.

Male Human Barbarian 1

Balnar stays alert to danger, something doesn't seem right here.

Spot Check: (1d20+2=22)

Male Human Barbarian 1

"Don't fret now, you will be safe with us." Reaching into his pack, Balnar removes his winter cloak and settles it on the girl's shoulders. "Now if you stay close to Sherrif Rall here, I imagine he would be very good at keeping you safe, would you be able to guide us to where those childre have been taken? There is a very good chance they could be in serious trouble and need our help."

EDIT: I just now relised the irony of calling Rall 'sherrif', not because of his class but rather because it was just mentioned to me that Sherrif is apparently most commonly used in the Forgotten Realms to refer to a Halfling Paladin.
This does not however change my attempts at reassuring the girl.

Male Human Barbarian 1

"I won't hurt ye girl," growls out Balnar as he shoulders hi axe, "but we do need to know now... have you seen a group of children pass by here? and did they seem to be in any danger?

Male Human Barbarian 1

With a sudden roar Balnar makes a dash for the undergrowth he believes the person or persons he heard are hiding in.

Male Human Barbarian 1

I'm back, and wow... we didnt do much at all... :(

Catch you in a few days, (I get home wednesday night)...

Male Human Barbarian 1

Let us move on then. Balnar carries on along the tracks once it is becomes clear that no one else seems willing to lead the way.

Male Human Barbarian 1

Listen Check (1d20+6=10)
Balnar keeps his eyes and ears open for trouble.

Male Human Barbarian 1

"I will stay with the main group then. My speed means that i will be able to reach you quickly should you get in any trouble."

Male Human Barbarian 1

"If there is a chacnce that one or more of the kids are injured, I think it might be better for us to move as a group. If anyone needs a healer's attention, it would be best that we not have to wait for them to turn up."

Male Human Barbarian 1

For Rall and DM

Spoiler:
Agreed, we'll keep an eye out for any hostiles in the meantime.

Male Human Barbarian 1
Rall Kirnast wrote:

Rall glances significantly at Balnar. "We could go faster alone. If there is no sign of immediate danger to the children, we can wait for the others."

If that is the case, then let us make all haste. The sooner we ensure the safety of those children the better.

Male Human Barbarian 1

"We did at that, though I very much doubt that they will stay that way for long."

Male Human Barbarian 1

Balnar places his axe head down in front of him, leaning on the grip as if it were a quarterstaff.
"The name's Balnar, sometimes folks in these parts call me the Frostblade. I'm a local, or as much as can be called one."

Male Human Barbarian 1

Balnar nods, "Thank you for your hospitality. Hopefully we can get this mess straightened out in the morning."

Male Human Barbarian 1

Balnar shakes himself out of his guilt induced stupor.

"Right, I'll help on the escort."
He rapidly unties the knots on his axe cover and stows it. "Anyone who runs, I will assume wants to lose body parts."
