Azig looks up and sighs. "Escaped familiars. They shouldn't attack with us aware of them.'

Azig cringes at Lem's words but nods. "If we get involved fighting against all of the looters we'll be fighting half of the city. The guard needs to do something to establish order."

Azig glances outside and listens. ”No. This might be a safe spot to rest if we need to rest. But I don’t think the mob will go back to normal anytime soon. We should try to get the Queen’s jewelry back to her. If we don’t, some local thieves might pick pockets and then we’re out and the Queen doesn’t get her property back.”

Azig watches as Lem searches in the tool shed. With Hiogryl digging, he is fairly certain that the halfling isn't searching for hidden treasures.... to steal.

"I don't think there's another shovel, in case you were thinking of helping Hiogryl dig the grave for Zellara's head and hands? And it looks like he's about deep enough. Did you perhaps want to say any final prayer for her?"

Azig opens the door to the tool shed and looks for a shovel. Finding it he hands it to Hiogryl. "I'll lock it back up once we're done."

That 17 was my first attempt to open the lock. If that failed he will keep trying until it opens, or breaks? Take 20? is a 27.

Azig reaches to open the door of the shed, then notices the lock. ”Hmm. Okay then.” He digs in his belt pouch and pulls out his lock picks. ”Erm. Hiogryl? I think I heard something in the house. Maybe you could check that out.”

Azig looks around the property for a good spot. Assuming there isn't a family graveyard perhaps a spot with proper sunlight in the morning for some flowers to grow over the grave? Finding the right spot he starts digging. He doesn't have a shovel, but does have daggers to break up the soil.

"Does anyone have a shovel? If not, I can break the ground with my dagger and dig it out with my claws."

Azig looks at the guards. ”Are you familiar with the criminal, Lamm? I think I saw his ghost. He was heading that way.”

He points in the direction that the ghost went. ”I saw flames right after it left”

Azig looks at Lem, this time obviously offended, then shrugs. "They won't throw us in prison for returning her jewelry. No thief just walks up to the owner of the purloined object and nicely returns it. Lamm never would have done that even though I doubt that he actually stole the thing. The worst that will happen is that they will just take it and turn us away. The best? They pay a little reward and the Queen knows that we're good people."

"So. Shall we go and bury Zelarra? I don't want to be carrying body parts to the castle!"

Azig looks at the dwarf. He has a confused expression on his rat face but is fairly certain that the dwarf can't read it. Didn't he call Lamm a Rat.... ??

"I thought I already answered. These are Zelarra's head and hands. Zelarra was killed by Lamm. She was a fortune teller and she helped us. We recovered her Harrow deck, and now her head and hands. After we found the Harrow deck she appeared again and asked us to find her head and hands and bury her. If we couldn't find them she said just burning the place down would do."

"As for the Queen's jewelry.... Seems Lamm somehow 'acquired' a piece that belonged to the Queen. Since we are all good, upstanding citizens, we decided that we should try and return the item to her." He considers mentioning that there was no way any fence in the city would buy it.... No. Probably not a good idea. The dwarf didn't seem to have a sense of humor! "We're hoping that the Queen might be willing to pay a reward, especially since we can explain who had it, and let her know that the thief has already been delivered to his final reward, or punishment."

Azig considers the flames as Lem asks his question. "Well, she requested burial first. Burning with the building if we couldn't find the head and hands. So.... I guess we should bury her. I wonder if we can just dig the grave in the yard of her home? She didn't specify anything like a family grave yard."

He turns away from the house and looks around the area. No guard presence? Well, they were busy with rioting.

"Let's go bury her. Then maybe off to the castle for the Queen, and her piece of jewelry? I hope there's a reward!"

Azig is surprised by the request. If it had come from anyone else.... "We're going to burn the fishery. Nobody should ever be stuck in this place, ever again! In a few years, you and this place will just be a dim memory. Why should we risk carrying your carcass under the building? You've probably got traps and some kind of dangerous penned monsters there!"

Azig jumps up. "Wait! There's a sound in the fishery. It's.... I think maybe we need to check it before the fire is started."

He moves in hoping that the torch hasn't dropped yet....

Azig stops as he's walking away from the building. "Zelarra's head and hands. Zelarra was killed by Lamm. Well, there's a lot more to that story. but the important part...." Azig pulls a deck of Harrow cards from his pouch. "We 'met her', actually I guess her ghost? And she asked us to find her harrow cards. Um, a deck of Harrow cards can be used for prophesy. And she asked us to find her head and hands, and bury them. If we couldn't, then she said they were likely hidden too well and to just burn the place down so she wouldn't be tied to it. She helped, provided some information. So I think we should help her to move on." He shrugs. "I'd want someone to help me if I was dead and tied to a jerk like Lamm!"

"She also said we could use the deck to ask her.... 'pressing questions'. I'm not sure how, but maybe it's magic?"

Azig carefully packs the head and hands in his backpack. "Hey! I found Zellara's head and hands. We don't 'have to' burn this place down. Maybe just toss Lamm's carcass into the water so the fish and other low life can eat him?"

He notices them already in the process of lighting and spreading the fires. "On second thought. If his carcass is burned he can't be brought back. But let's have a proper burial for Zelarra once this is done."

He goes back to the street. "Anyone have any skewers, marshmallows or such to roast?"

Just kidding about that last thing!

Azig finishes up his stew and drink and hears the anger in the dwarf's voice. "Valid point. You'll notice that Daranil mentioned Lamm's performance? Sometimes he talks like that as if life were just some big play. Don't take anything that he says like that at face value. None of us would ever consider creating undead, even from a waste of skin such as Lamm. He's dead and his soul should be well on the way to his 'final reward'...."

He pushes away from the table a bit and listens. Does it still sound like an active battle outside? "I would like to finish the job though. We weren't able to find Zellara's head or hands so we can't give her the proper burial. She did request that if we failed that we burn the place down so she could rest in peace. I don't want to have to fight through a mob to do that. How is it going outside?

Azig takes a seat across from Hiogryl. He replies in dwarven, ”More the fools who try to take the Father of Creation’s weapon from Toragdan.”

He glances up to the waiter and says, ”I’ll start with a mug of ale for myself and our new friend.” He returns his gaze to Hiogryl. ”I’m Azig Bohrs. Thanks for sharing your table. The city has gone mad.”

Well, we didn't find Zellara's head and hands did we? If we did we need to see them properly buried. If not we were supposed to burn the place down.

Second someone was going to copy the Lamm's paperwork so it could be turned over to the authorities. Our copy was to be sure it was acted on properly.

And we were going to the castle to inform the Queen that we recovered her brooch from Lamm. We believe it was a thief in his employment that stole it.
