I don't think that you did anything wrong, Red. I think that we just lost momentum somewhere and it kept getting slower. For what it is worth, I was enjoying it. Thank you for sticking with it as long as you did. Sometimes games just die, especially adventure paths (which are a long-term investment). I've lost more than my fair share, despite efforts to keep them alive.

With both of the hags engaged, Avora tries her luck again at casting a 1 round spell. She begins casting. Casting swarnm of fangs.

I'll wait to see if Kalt can take her down before I apply the negative levels and damage. Sure, it isn't likely, but stranger things have been known to happen.

Avora decides that spells that take too long to finish casting are not a good idea and settles instead on a spell that is loosed more quickly. She moves her arms and intones ancient phrases of power and a blast of hot wind slams down upon the hags.

If my measurements are right, I can catch all three without getting Sven and Kalt. The radius is 20 feet. If not, I'll get red and blue. Casting sirocco.

A blast of furnace-hot wind blasts downward, inflicting 4d6 + 17 ⇒ (1, 6, 2, 1) + 17 = 27 fire damage to all creatures in the area and knocking them prone. A successful Fortitude save halves the fire damage and negates being knocked prone.

Any creature that takes damage from a sirocco becomes fatigued (or exhausted, if already fatigued, such as from a previous round of exposure to a sirocco spell). Creatures with the water subtype take a -4 penalty on all saving throws against this spell and take double normal damage.

Spell resistance does apply, so here's the caster level check.

Caster Level: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (13) + 17 = 30

Concentration check: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (2) + 20 = 22

I am under the assumption that she cannot use her spells in dragon form. She has the Natural Spell feat, but that is limited to wild shape, where the dragon form is a spell. If she [u]can[/u] cast spells in dragon form (she can speak as a dragon), then she will retain that form instead of dispelling it.

Con season is upon us, and in just two months, I will be running the game room for CoastCon (Biloxi, MS - March 16-18 if anyone is interested). This does mean that for the next two months, my life is very hectic and gaming must take a back seat. I'm not dropping, just giving warning that my posting may be slightly curtailed (more than usual). Avora easily shrugs off the effects of the hold person and snarls, "You are no god!" She casts a spell and her face lengthens as her size expands, her body becoming covered in scales. When the spell is complete, a majestic dragon with scales that reflect the multicolored hues of the heavens stands before the party (Large-sized). (Casting form of the exotic dragon II.)

As a sky dragon, she gains a bite attack (2d6+5), 2 claw attacks (1d8+5 each), a tail slap (1d8+5), and a gore attack (2d6+5), AC 28/21/28, Fort +23, and +34 hp. She also breathes a 40-foot cone of electricity (8d8, Reflex for half) and gains electricity resistance 20. The spell lasts for 17 minutes.

Avora struggles against the flames that lick and burn her, remembering all-too-well her near-death experience with the dragon.

I can channel to banish flame. Any chance that I could have softened the effects of Rasputin's spell as he cast it? If not, can I use that ability to extinguish the remaining flames?

Alternatively, you may use this ability [Banish Flame] to negate magical fire effects as if using a targeted dispel magic; at 12th level, this functions as targeted or area greater dispel magic instead of dispel magic.

I'm back and will be spending today and tomorrow catching up. If you ever get the opportunity to do the Ultimate Disney Christmas Package, take it! For roughly $800/person, we stayed at a moderate resort (Coronado Springs), attended Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, got extra hours in the parks, attended an exclusive Christmas dance party, had an exclusive holiday buffet with live entertainment (and the food was fabulous), and received a special gift in our room on Christmas day that contained a picture frame, serving tray, chocolates, cookies, and much more! All-in-all, a wonderful vacation at an excellent price! I was able to do most everything I wanted to do, with the single exception of Avatar Flight of Passage (my shins were too big), but my wife and brother-in-law did experience it and they thought it was a lot of fun! With the imminent approach of Christmas, I am going to be out-of-touch from the 20th-27th. My brother-in-law is treating my wife and me to a trip to Disney World so that she can see the Christmas decor before her vision is completely lost. If you are in my game, I will try to find the time before Wednesday to make a brief post, but the game will be suspended until Dec. 28th. Avora is finished with her resplendent new magical goodies. Mostly, it was an upgrade to AC and resistances, but the ring of fire elemental command is new. I also upgraded her armor to leaf armor +3 and gave her a dancing scimitar +1.

I will add whatever gear Avora needs today or tomorrow and be ready to go.

Avora is leveled up and ready to go, except for magic items. How do you want to handle that? The changes are too extensive to go into, but I used Hero Lab, so she should be mostly correct, if not completely.

Will have Avora leveled up by tomorrow, if not today.

Avora floats in the air above the corpse, still in shock that it was her blow that killed the beat. She slowly comes down, landing lightly with a look of wonder and awe upon her face.

I am very interested in continuing, though the boards have been a problem of late.

Avora, realizing that under the influence of the spell, she can fly, floats up to the dragon and stabs with her spear, shouting, "Die, abomination!"

Actually, she should have two hero points, as I have not spent any (I keep forgetting about them). GM, can I call upon those HP's to somehow survive (although another blast of breath will make it superfluous)?

Avora takes the brunt of the fireball, the flames engulfing her body. When the smoke clears, she lies unmoving, her once-attractive body and face now burned nearly beyond recognition. She manages to gasp, "Sven..." before her spear slips from her lifeless grasp.

-34 hit points puts Avora well-beyond her negative Constitution. She is dead, barring a raise dead or resurrection. Sorry, guys.
