Situation at hand: the target of a 'Target: creature(s) / Duration: concentration(+x rnd)' spell becomes invisible. (e.g. spells like Id Insinuation)
In our group I'm currently running a slightly modified version of Dragon's Demand (some encounters and elements have been removed, the end encounters, NPCs and loot are toned down - for a lower level group), and as the group is nearing the end of this module, they're considering moving on to Taldor's nearby town of Maheto.
So, I'm looking into ways to play a character based on negative energy healing. Like an antipaladin that gets to heal himself with Touch of Corruption. Or a cleric/oracle that's focused on burning enemies with inflict spells/channel energy and nasty necromancies, while being able to heal himself with said spells. I know the cleric gets this option at 8th level with Death domain, and the oracle (Bone) gets the same thing via Resist Life, however I want this much sooner (1st level preferably).
The wording on 'Necromantic Affinity' feat suggests it only works on Inflict spells -only-, so channel and touch are out. Playing a dhampir is out of the question. Are there any options I haven't explored yet?
I'm sure this subject has been brought up plenty of times, but is there any official explanation why this is -obscenely- overpriced? I'm aware of the fact that monks get a "special two weapon fighting", and this is basicly worth two weapons while using flurry, but a max +5 is just depressing for the 125k, especially when compared to regular weapons (and weapons made out of special materials!).
I've gotten into a debate with my DM about this issue... (in depth case: I've built an inflict-based oracle using a heavy shield and spiked gauntlets to flank with various summoned undead creatures.) A. Can you cast spells with somatic components while wearing
B. Do you (and summoned creatures in flanking position) get the flanking bonuses since you are "considered armed while wearing spiked gauntlets"? My personal interpretation is
Opinions, please? ;)
As I can't find any definite answers, and I prefer not to house-rule these, here goes: 1. How does damage reduction interact with incorporeality? i.e.: the Shadow Demon is an incorporeal monster that has DR10/cold iron or good.
2. As in point #1, the same damage issue versus the Sacred Shield's (UC paladin archetype) -Bastion- ability. How about elemental damage and target resistances? 3. Is there any official ruling on the (Sp) cleric domain powers and the eligibility for the 'Quicken SLA' feat? 4. Exactly how does one discover the powers of a (minor) artifact, preferably via spells? Excluding "I cast Wish/Miracle!". Since artifacts can't be identified, and leaving an "Instructions!" note for the players is not something I'd like to do. Is it even possible? I'm thinking... Legend Lore/Vision ? that's from the top of my head, got some other topics, but I'm having a brain lapse right now...
