Asaran has been modified based on the different character generation rules. Have a little left over to spend on consumables, but otherwise good to go. (Unless I missed something, of course)

Just saw this and would love to submit Asaran, an orphan from an earlier Mummy's Mask that died almost exactly where you're at.

Will need to make a few adjustments based on the build rules, of course, but should give you a good idea of the character.

System ate my updated character posting -- will redo it in the morning.

Making a small adjustment to my stats -- bumping Dex to 14 (cha to 11).

Will update the sheet

Asaran is now a 25 point build, level 4, and 6,000 gp.

I have Asaran here who's an orphan from a campaign that died -- could quickly modify/level/equip to match creation rules.

Would be easy enough to have him be a member of another group that suffered heavy losses and fell apart..

Just saw this, and wouldn't mind (if possible) submitting poor, orphaned Asaran into the mix -- will need to adjust the crunch - he was level 3 when the group he was in collapsed.

That said, I would think that he could easily be the sole survivor from another group (IC as well as OOC), looking for someone to continue on with (given that he believes that Anubis wants him here, he'd be looking pretty hard for another group to join).

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

I'm certainly sorry to end things, but I get it -- and I do know how it's hard, sometimes, when a character isn't really working out.

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Well, it looks like we can afford to pay down the debt -- but still, the Vargouilles certainly ate our WBL. ;)

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Likely so.

For myself, I tend to think it's all useful sellable items, but that may be (partially) from my debt...

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Unfortunate. Was hoping to keep going (given the leveling and all).

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

I think we lost our original tracker.

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Ok, Ranger (Divine Hunter/Trapper) 3:

+8 hp (6, +1 FC, +1 con)
+1 Will
+1 BAB,
+7 Skill Points [Kn (Rel, Dung, Nat), Stealth, Percept, Disable Device, Survival]
+Bonus: Endurance
+Favoured Terrain: Underground
+Feat: Power Attack

Still planning for the cleric dip at L4 on the way to Holy Vindicator (at 7th).

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran nods his agreement with the words of his companions, rubbing the wound over his throat, warming it before says, "Indeed. Anubis, and his followers, honour the fallen."

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran shrugs, "I was thinking that the ingots, plus some of the earlier gear, would suffice -- let alone the resale of these other items. Still, better to settle our debts within hours instead of needing days or weeks."

He takes a deep breath, "Onward. Let's try to get ourselves into the positive column."

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran shrugs, "Better to pay it off the next day than weeks later. The ingots, atop what we'd already collected, should suffice -- let alone resale value of other items."

He says, "Onward. Let's get even further into the positive column."

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran whistles, "I think we may be able to pay the clerics."

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Can I aid another on that (I assume Sunjeet would be the primary)?

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran says, "Careful... Some of those things are fragile and would need magical mending to be safe."

He then stands aside, keeping careful watch to ensure that nothing leaps out to kill his companions while they carefully gather the goods.

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran. Clearly. :)

Asaran follows the bard closely.

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Garavaen nods, "Yes, let's keep our heads."

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran nods, "Thank you. We'll try to avoid needing more healing."

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran repeats, "I prefer keeping my body attached to my head.", and rubs the scar across his throat.

He nods, "I swear by Anubis that I will pay my debt... and should I fall first, then I will my gear to the temple."

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran says, "Those things weren't undead. I know undead... followers of Anubis loathe them." He then shrugs, "But I know little of magical diseases... and I'd rather not have my body wither away leaving only a head behind."

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran says, "Is it a magical disease that needs curing, or can we simply be treated and recover? "

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran nods and smiles at Dusty's suugesting, "That too."

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran keeps his defenses up, watching for any signal that might pass between them... only relaxing as they leave. He pauses a moment, exhaling his tense breath, before saying, "I do not trust them... I can't help but think that they were denied a slot, and look to steal ours. It may be wise to warn the officials at the temple about these jackals."

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran nods, then says in a low growl as his eyes narrow, "A few less now."

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran steps up next to the cleric, rubbing the scar on his throat with his left hand, pleased to let her speak for him when he hears the skepticism in her tone. He smiles cooly, adding, "Fortunately, still able to get out under our own power."

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran nods, "It may be worth falling back and returning with supplies... though I'm loathe to do it give that we've found so little so far."

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

Asaran snarls as the creature wails again, "Looks like that didn't work so well." He then steps forward to try to carve the skull.

Falcata: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19 for 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

I'll be out of town this weekend -- starting tomorrow, and until Monday.

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran snarls, "The still-fleshy flying heads are far worse than the skulls.", and swings again.

Falcata: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 for 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran asks, "Do you know what these flying heads are? And if they've got a weakness?", then follows his target, slashing out again.

Falcata: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 for 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

It hasn't killed me yet.

(Not sure if I mean the Vargouille or the diceroller...) ;)

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Whew. Thought it was paralysis.

Asaran winces at the strange feeling, then shakes his head to clear it before swinging his falcata at the flying head once again.

Falcata: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 for 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 And so much for making the save...

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Just noticed the post-eater got my successful save. Ugh. Sorry.

Fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

The 19 was better, but that still works.

Asaran tries to get into a flanking position with Dusty, lashing out with his heavy blade.

Falcata: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 for 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran waits his turn. ;)

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran nods, drawing his Falcata and scanning the room, "Can't say having my head pulled off doesn't sound pleasant.."

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran nods, "Getting out was always part of the plan."

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Let's keep a positive attitude? ;)

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran nods, "We will do all we can to keep them at peace...", bows his head to the figure, then continues on, following Sunjeet's lead.

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

I am, certainly. Did we try DMing Sunjeet?

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

I'd like the daily schedule, personally. Now that I'm back, at least.

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran bows his head to the figure, then rubs his throat, warming it to speak, "I am Asaran Neitekh, chosen of Anubis."

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran chuckles, "Fair question. Maybe about half that much. I mean, it wouldn't do to be attacked by fuzzy poppets. We'd never take them seriously."

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

Asaran rubs his throat, "Well, that was scarier than it needed to be."

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

AoO: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 2 = 22 for 1d8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 2 = 13

Asaran chops down one of the skulls as it flies toward him, then quickly steps back, repeating his last manoeuvre... but swings a little too quickly, the heavy blade passing wide of the skull.

Falcata: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 2 = 12 for I'm assuming that misses..

Male Human Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) 4

AoO: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 2 = 13

Asaran curses he misses the skulls, I let them in too close before swinging... Bad move..., then winces as he's bitten. Well, I'm not likely to scare them off, but maybe I can make myself a small bit of space... He then leans forward before taking a quick step back, using the small amount of space he's created to take a full swing of his heavy blade.

Falcata: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 6 + 2 = 28 Confirm: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 2 = 26

Assuming that FE undead applies.

Critical: 3d8 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (8, 1, 8) + 9 + 2 = 28 That's likely more than a mite overkilly
