Ash's little floating orb dashed out and tried to distract the Maggot just before it bit Ash.
The small floating gem had a few smaller stones orbiting it. It glowed like a torch now and set about moving towards survivors.
Array flew the rope to the other side of the ravine and looked for something sturdy to tie it to.
Array scouted the ravine, keeping an eye out for signs of anything living at the bottom.
He spotted the skeleton and clung to a wall to examine it more closely. He threw a rock at it to see if it stirred, and then swooped down to land next to it, his small hands quickly squirreling away all the valuables. He rose out of the ravine carrying a fine looking mithril short sword. Dead halfling. he said
Array reacted to Spectrum's mental command and moved down the passage, activating he healing wand as he went.
The dragons swooped in first, clinging high on the wall. Array aimed a wand at the one next to the opposite hall. Nothing obvious happened.
Array landed on Kaven and stung him one more time for good measure.
With a twisting aileron roll to avoid being attacked, Array swooped past Kaven and snapped his barbed tail towards the man's neck before pulling up and flapping clear again.
Array burst to the air and streaked to the west, following Kaven, hurling one of Spectrum's glue bombs at the traitor.
Array hid a little further forward on the path, intending to hit them from behind.
The dragons surveyed the terrain and reported back. Array drew a careful, detailed map in the dirt with the stinger on his tail. Glimmer put rocks on the map to represent the creatures she'd seen.
From his perch on the roof, Array eyed the heated discussion, but would be hard pressed to care less about what was being said. He stretched out lengthwise down the peak, hung his limbs and wings on either side and enjoyed the afternoon sun.
Array flew outside and perched on the roof to keep watch with Shalelu.
Array swooped in through the front door and back up into the rafters, scanning the room for anything interesting.
Array circled left.
While Reynard checked the door and the others looked over their findings, Array indulged his curiosity and poked into the nooks and crannies the rest of the large room.
He didn't find much.
Array swooped down and stung a rat with his stinger tail.
Array fiddled with a wand of his own.
There are creatures inside. Array reported.
Array, still hidden in the trees, used a wand on the Ogre.
Array began to scout further back, looking for whatever had released the dogs.
Array followed Raynard into the brush.
Ours is weird too. I think it comes with only having two legs. Array said without opening his eyes from where he napped on Spectrum's shoulder.
The other was dark but swirled with subtle color, like an oil slick. He was larger and had a stinger on the end of his tail, but he also seemed more cautious. Who are you?
Array quickly delivered a reply to the Pathfinder's letter, landing on the upstairs balcony and delivering the parchment sealed with the signet of House Dawntree to a junior pathfinder for delivery to the Venture Captain.
Array tilted his head, still watching Wyam and his new friend. I am perfectly controlled.
Array loved his golden perch. He lorded above the people below with the kind of aloof condescension that only dragons and cats are capable of. He preened absently, showing off the iridescent sheen of his black scales. He listened to the inane conversations happening below, taking particular intrest in the female speaking with Wyam. She wishes to mate. the dragon's mind-voice said inside Wyam's head.
Yes it does. Smells of gold... Array craned his long neck and looked out over the wealth displayed in the room and the crowd.
After some thought I decided that I wanted Glimmer to be the Cohort and Array to be the familiar, so I'm switching their stats. This decision is based on their respective personalities. I'd originally had Glimmer as a Pilferer Familiar and Array as a Skald Cohort. Turns out Urban Skalds get the ability to insult people into a frenzy. I figured it would be a lot more funny to have Glimmer doing that than Array. Since Array's the quiet, predatory one he fits the Pilferer well. After looking at the Skald, I realized a Faerie Dragon would be a lot better a fit due to the higher Charisma, so with the two little dragons "growing up" and losing the Young template, Glimmer is going to molt and end up with rainbow wings. Glimmer will molt and get darker in coloration, looking something like an oil slick (dark with rainbow highlights). I'm looking forward to future encounters with these two. They both just became a lot more capable and a lot more funny.
I saw. I don't think they would have won without you. Array said. Of the two he was certainly the more stoic, but in this case he sounded proud. Spectrum told me to watch, and stay clear in case you were all defeated. He wanted to make sure someone survived to tell others in case of failure. I think he figured you would be more useful in this fight than I would be. I was angry about it earlier, but I think he was right. Your knack with those wands and potions saved the day.
Array rolled his eyes, a gesture he'd definitely picked up from Spectrum. Amieko will be fine. We are going with you.
The little dragons pulled back from the terrible stench, sick and gagging.
Array shook off the last of the bat's paralysis and took to the air again, feeling angry that he hadn't been strong enough to fight back against the creature. He wanted to dive back into the battle, but he didn't like how close the quarters were. He hung back and waited for an opening.
Array's muscles lock up and the little dragon crashes to the ground.
The two little dragons pounced, lashing out with the energy they'd been storing in their tails.
Array moved to the nearest window and opened it, ready to do his part if the Revenant began to leave the house.
"Stop. The desk is one of these... things. The dagger."
I do not understand what is happening in this place. Why are these... objects behaving so oddly?
Array launched himself into the air, flapping to hover, looking like a bird of prey waiting to dive.
With the command from Wyam, the two dragons took off, one low and one high, their tails sparking with held energy.
Array took to wing and did a circuit of the farmhouse, looking in all the windows. Then he got impulsive and looked for a chimney to climb down.
