Technical question: Can we occupy the squares around the pit (squares that have portions of the pit contained in them)? If so, does it appear to the average person that it would be difficult (aside from the chance of being knocked in)?

Anything that will bolster our defense would be helpful. It sounds like catching whatever disease it spreads will be unpleasant, to say the least. My suggestion is to bolster/heal Huc and Fynn, if you can’t do significant damage at range, or otherwise distract it. I will switch hit as needed.
