Longstrider 1hr Even when playing on-tier, you can get near-one shot. Remember that axe wielding halfling in that Lvl 1 evergreen mission. He had a battle axe that did like 1d10 an if it crit, it was insta-death for any level 1 character...ouch. I recall my lvl 5 Barbarian was fighting a great axe wielding NPC with Power Attack and like +10 damage and I knew if that GM crit me, I was going to die, even from full health. The times you really get screwed playing up is when there is spell casting or the monsters have status effects, like ability damage, negative levels, or paralyze or something.

Longstrider 1hr What scenario was that you had a bad experience playing up? If this was PF2, playing up would probably be suicidal on account of the +10 crit mechanic. In PF1, it's kind of a crapshoot. In early years, playing up was a trivial increase in difficulty. Around Season 4, PFS dramatically increased the difficult of missions and there were LOTS of TPKs. I have no idea how season 9 averages out.

As far as I am concerned, the issue is done. The "shoulder rub" was role play, and the GM specifically allowed for discord IC. I openly acknowledged that it can be ignored if it takes the role play too far. Sorry to hear your game has been impacted. So has mine. Sleeping Sword:
1. I didn't disagree with anyone's tactical choices. I have not made any unprovoked comment to Rogarch or anyone else. Oddly, you and her went back and forth about how she should play her character and she refused your advice. Yet I did not accuse you of telling her what to do. 2. I haven't made any unsolcited comments about anyone's actions in combat. At no point did I tell Rogarch or anyone how to play their charcter. What I did do push back both IC and OOC when Rogarch attempted to bully me. 3. My comments to Rogarch are AFTER she tried o lecture my character about brinig my own wands. Except, I didn't ask her or anyone else to volunteer their wands, I have my own. When I rebuffed her IC, she resorted to taking it OOC and doubling down. Textbook passive aggression which has negatively impacted my game and your game, but you seem intent on laying it all at my feet. Rogarch's posts are asinine given the totality of the circumstances, it's unfortunate that you are unwilling to acknowledge it. That's fine. Passive aggressive behavior is frequently overlooked on forums and everyone focus on the person who confronts it and wants to label that person as the aggressor. I've been playing 10 years and never had another player try and lecture me both IC and OOC about how to play my character. I guess there's a first time for everything. Actually, with the GM's permission, I will withdraw from the game and we'll say this never happened. I don't know if the majority of the players here want to hold Rogarch faultless, but I'm not going to force the others to take sides. Apologies to the GM. Appreciate the opportunity and I certainly had no issues with the other players. And thanks Lo Pei, I appreciate you embodying the spirit of PFS.

Please check the thread for Pathfinder Society or play live at any lodge once covid is over. Your character might not know it but as a player you need to know this fact. You're conflating the convention of having a way to heal yourself with expecting to be able to sit in the back, play up, and contribute absolutely zero to the encounter. You're ridiculous if you think you can hide out of danger and then contribute nothing, while playing up. Whenever I play my investigators, I always offer to heal the frontliners. And think about it, are you better off healing someone to stand between you and Mummy Rot or would you rather stand there yourself? And the same goes for my archery Ranger who does more than his share of damage. If there characters who are willing to protect me from harm, I am willing to heal them and keep them standing. It's called cooperative game play.

As you are both inexperienced and apparently selfish, not to mention tryng to punch above your paygrade, let me make something really clear for you. If you cannot contribute in a fight, then you had better make damn sure those who are standing between you and your demise are kept standing. Because if you expect me to both risk my life and life and then provide my own healing, while you or others hide behind the very protection I am providing, then you are in for a rude awakening. Next time, I will not be so eager to risk my life and we shall see how long you last with no one between you and eternal rest."
