Ar'dreth retrieves his wayfinder from his belt pouch and holds it up for Hilrune to see. "Never leave home without it. I agree we should see to Martine."
Ar'dreth sees the injured creature disappear and changes focus to the other, sending an acid globe flying toward it. "What are these foul creatures, an illusion of some sort?"
Move to within 30ft, Acid Splash 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 Damage 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Will Save if needed 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
As Ar'dreth's sword returns to his hand, he sees that the strike did little to the ugly creature. He then raises his sword again and speaks words of incantation in draconic. As Ar'dreth completes the spell, a bolt of pure force flies from the sword hitting the creature.
Oops, guess I let the cat out of the bag. Not really sure why we were hiding it in the first place though, maybe I forgot something :)
As Corath and Martine head off to the stables, Ar'dreth looks at both Hilrune and Lamsfel. "Don't mind me brothers, I am here to study. Let me get out of your way." Ar'dreth then walks to a table furthest away, takes a seat and extracts his spellbook from his pack.
I'm going to make a perception check to see if any books around have arcane markings or contain spells. Perception 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
As Salniel shifts to his female counterpart, Ar'dreth sits and watches him with an emotionless stare. "Though I find your ambiguity and lack of boundaries fascinating, I will have to decline any invitation you present. I am far to busy to entertain such offerings."
Ar'dreth looks back toward the abbess. "Thank you, I appreciate your offer."
Sounds like it is time for a bluff check my man Corath. Oh No!
I have yet to lie. We are being sent to see if it is a temple of Aroden, correct? So, if stuff is there that has no connection to Aroden, we will be required to tell our 'friend'.
True. Then I will gladly count my bluff check as null and void.
Ar'dreth furls his brow as Salniel speaks his 'offer'. "Thank you for the offer, but I am most capable of finding it myself with proper direction. I require solitude if I am to get anything done." Ar'dreth then looks toward Corath, hoping to jump in on their conversation.
"Yes, our friend is not able to check on the area and requires our help."
Bluff 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
Sounds like it is time for a bluff check my man Corath. Oh No!
Ar'dreth sits down at one of the empty tables seats and begins to quietly eat his meal. After a few bites he looks like he wants to say something but closes his mouth quickly. He then drinks from his glass not feeling very comfortable in the presence of such strong followers of the gods knowing that he is not a follower of any represented here. After a few minutes, he looks at the abbess. "Do you have a library here in the abbey madam?" He asks, hoping for a place to study.
"Though I agree Nethys may be a better fit, I could see a scholarly god being very one sided is some instances. I do not think you can ever truly be free of bias. I believe learning is only one facet of this abbey." Ar'dreth replies to Therin's statement.
Ar'dreth moves up to the front of the group, addressing the Abbess. "I find the abbey truly intriguing, but there is something that draws my attention more than that. Why is it that you wear that mask?"
Ar'dreth looks the two priests over. "I would be honored to dine with you. I have a question. Are there any initiates of Yuelral or Nethys I can speak to?"
"Other than knowing of this place, I have little other information. The concept of the wind blowing through it making the music intrigues me though. It would explain the name."
"We should use the wand to our advantage and heal the mule, then we can get back on the trail. Oh, and Therin." Ar'dreth then eyes the pearl in his palm with a grin and speaks the command word "trvsaa" and places it in his belt pouch.
As far as I know, unlike scrolls, wands don't align themselves along the arcane/divine split. As long as Spell X is on your class list, you can use a wand of Spell X, regardless of the class who made the wand.
I think I'd like to go ahead and activate the first of our alternates to replace Kaertya - T&M has already mentioned wanting to play a Pathfinder witch, and I think a more dedicated healer might be a useful addition. Say hi, T&M!
Hello! I'll be crafting the character over the weekend since work must occupy my time today. As I go, I'll send messages to this thread with drafts and requests for comments or suggestions from all of you.
As Ar'dreth finishes examining the items, he puts his head down slowly shaking it. Raising his head back up, he looks over the group. "That was an incredible experience. We have some magical treasure in our possession friends." Ar'dreth holds out the wand for all to see. "This is a curing wand, as you may already be accustomed Corath. This here..." Ar'dreth extends his hand out, palm up with the pearl resting in the center "...is a magical pearl which let's users of magical energy recall a recently used spell." He finishes with a grin.
Ok, so now we have some decisions to make. We have a wand of cure light wounds (21 charges) leaning toward Corath on this one. A Pearl of Power (1st) leaning toward me on this (LOL). Any suggestions. I will give up all other treasure from this encounter if I can have the Pearl. PLEASE!
Can I do it again now? If so, I use my Artifact Seeker trait to cast Identify on myself and check again. Never mind the wand right now, Identify only last three rounds.
In response to your feedback issues Shisumo, I have no issues with any of it. I am liking Ar'dreth's build, the no map method is cool as long as we get regular updates and am excited to see a witch in action.
