Hello Anunnaki,

I'm sorry about that! I have canceled your subscriptions. You should soon receive an email confirming this change to your account. I noticed you still have some items pending in order 7791542. Are you still interested in receiving the remaining items, of should I cancel the remaining items as well? Please let us know! Thank you.

Please cancel everything, Sam. Much appreciated. Sadly, couldn't get enough interest in PF2 around my area for continued play. :(

Hi Paizo CS,

Somehow I had a bunch of subscriptions "resubscribe" (they were previously canceled). Not sure how and it looks like an order has been prepared and shipped and charged. Mea culpa -- I'll throw it up on Ebay or something.

Before anything else goes out, can you please cancel all of my subscriptions?

Many thanks!

Dear Team Paizo,

Sadly, I've not been able to muster support for PF2 with my play groups. :( (Not from a lack of trying.)

Can you please cancel all of my subscriptions as it looks like I won't be running any games with this edition.

Thanks in advance, James

Hi Diego,

If you can please ship through the missing items, that would be awesome thanks.

Also, I'm not sure about the PFS subscription -- if I meet the subscription requirements, is that a freebie? I added it when I subscribed, but wasn't sure how it's supposed to work.

And thanks again. I know you and the rest of the service team are swamped right now. You're all awesome!

Regards, A

Hi Diego,

Please keep the extra core rulebook (I would like two, please).

Also, I think some of the subscriptions started with earlier products than PF2? Thought I had fixed those, but apparently not. If that can be corrected, awesome! Basically: anything reflecting PF1 products (i.e. prior to PF2 launch) in subs should start with PF2.

Also also, I think with subscriptions I get free PFS sub? Not sure if that is reflecting.

Apologies for the mess. I am sure once we get clear of PF2 launch, all will go smoothly moving forwards as we settle into subscription mode.

Thanks in advance!

And I just updated to Subscriptions on Order 7842154. Hopefully this doesn't mess anything up. I noted that Subscriptions will reduce the original preorder quantities for duplicates by 1? Can you please sanity check that I've got this right?

Many thanks!

EDIT: Apologies, please ignore (delete this thread). I think we're good. (Mercifully, because been looking forward to this for a while.)

Hiya,

Apologies things are tighter this month than expected.

Please cancel Order 7738023.

Thanks in advance and sorry for any inconvenience.

All good, thanks Diego. Much appreciated and sorry for the hassle. I got caught by surprise. :(

Dear Paizo,

I hate to do this (again), but can you please cancel my Pathfinder and Starfinder subscriptions.

Funds got unexpectedly tight this quarter (thanks to work restructuring). I will revisit this later in the year once work is back on track again and pick up anything I missed, but for now, please cancel what you can.

Thanks in advance, James

Thanks Sharaya!

Hi Team Paizo,

Can you please cancel ALL of my subscriptions (both Pathfinder and Starfinder). Moving on to a different game system, sorry, so will no longer be adding to my collection.

I understand this might be too close to the next order. That's ok; just at the nearest next cancellation window is fine.

Appreciate your fine service over the last year.

Kind regards, James

Thanks Diego! Thanks Katina! Thanks Team Paizo!

Thanks Katina!

Close, but Ruins of Azlant - City of the Deep (4 of 6) is still not showing, sorry.

The others are fine (and yeah, we had some mularkey going on with November subscriptions and this is just the last last part of the fallout).

Kind regards, James

Hi Team,

Thanks for shipping out my order.

I am missing PDF downloads for:

Ruins of Azlant #4 of 6 City in the Deep
Ultimate Wilderness
People of the Wastes

If you can please remedy, that would be awesome thanks!

Kind regards, James

Hello Anunnaki,

Thank you for letting us know. I am getting the items generated for you. I see a number of items also in your sidecart, do you want all of those to go with this order?

Thanks Diego!

If you could wrangle that as well (sidecart items), that would be greatly appreciated.

And like others, just wanted to say thanks for the great customer service. Other than this one hiccup, everything I've ordered from Paizo has come through flawlessly and easily. That's a reflection of what you and the team do.

Kind regards, James

Hiya,

Apologies -- couldn't edit my previous post.

Yeah, November seems to have dropped off my subscriptions list for some reason. Perhaps during the web site up/down period. Dunno. I've checked my emails for shipping notifications and nada.

Anyways, missing:

Pathfinder Products
•Pathfinder Adventure Path: #124: City in the Deep (Ruins of Azlant 4 of 6)
•Pathfinder Player Companion: People of the Wastes
•Pathfinder Maps: Flip-Mat: Sunken City
•Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Ultimate Wilderness
•Pathfinder Pawns: Ironfang Invasion Pawn Collection

Starfinder Products
•Starfinder Accessories: Alien Archive Pawn Box

If you can please resurrect this subscription order and get it into my list, along with my subscriber benefits, that would be awesome thanks!

Kind regards, James

Hiya,

Any chance someone could please check my subscriptions and confirm that I haven't missed an order? I recall seeing a block of upcoming products which included Ultimate Wilderness and other things, but haven't received any order information and obviously UW is now in the wild (sic). :)

Just making sure something hasn't gotten gummed up. My next subscriptions are showing late November/early December, but don't seem to include UW or some other products that have been released this month.

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards, James

Tonya, as a Kiwi now resident in the US of A, I was so happy to read that you were well looked after by my fellow New Zealanders. Thanks to the local PF VCs for turning on the local hospitality! Now I am somewhat homesick ... but in a good way! :)

Hi Everyone,

The July #1 Update is up on RedBrick's News and Announcements page, at:

http://redbrickllc.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=566

It's been a busy few weeks. Creatures of Barsaive (Pathfinder Edition) should be available in PDF format later this week, with the print edition due towards month end. For all you GMs, throw some Earthdawn critters at your Golarion players for a little fun and amusement... /grin

Kind regards, James

Hi everyone,

As a note on Discipline feats, I boo-boo'd and left a prereq in for Sky Raiders. Sorry about that (eyes glazing over from all of the layout-fu going on, atm). So here's an errata, erratum, um, a correction:

Errata: EDPF Player's Guide, p.45: Remove the Prerequisite line from the Sky Raider Adept (there are no Prerequisites for the Discipline feats).

We will setup the Errata document soon and make that available from the Downloads section of the RedBrick Forums (http://forums.redbrickllc.com).

Kind regards, James

Hi thejeff,

thejeff wrote:

Or at least it did in the version of the PDF I have. I haven't figured out how to download the new version/errata. I may have to wait until the physical book arrives.

If you login to your account on the RedBrick Shop, then access your order information, you will see a link to download your PDF. All you need to do to get the latest version is download the ZIP file again (it's always linked to the most current version).

Any problems, just drop us an email via the Contact Us page. Always happy to help (and Dawn is much better at explaining things than I am). :)

Kind regards, James

Hi everyone,

A bit of a News "double whammy", sorry (but in a good way).

May Update #2: Earthdawn SW and PF Player's Guides

and the big one:

Preorder Your Earthdawn SW or PF Game Master's Guide Now!

Back to the grindstone, folks. Next up after the GM's Guide is the Parlainth Campaign Setting book.

Kind regards, James

Blastin wrote:
since James was answering questions here I was hoping he might chime in. I'm interested in the 3rd ed stuff as well as the SW and PF versions, but without their boards I don't know where to get info on the 3rd ed books (in the new format) release.

Hi Blastin,

We will be making more information on the "new format" ED3 books available closer to Gen Con. I'll make a point of cross-linking from this thread to keep people in the loop, and there will be some News Announcements about changes, etc., closer to release.

If you have anything specific that you do want to ask, however, feel free to drop me a PM or if it's not against Paizo's policy, post something up in the General Forums and/or here.

Kind regards, James

Hi Pathfinder fans,

Just in case the announce gets missed:

May Update: Earthdawn Savage Worlds and Pathfinder Releases

An update on the status of these books. The PDFs for both Player's Guides have been updated and revised versions will be released to those who purchased them on both the RedBrick Online Shop and one OneBookShelf this week.

Thank you for your patience. Our apologies for the delays. Unfortunately, we identified a few errors, which required another proofing run. It's taken longer than expected, but we have layout formats locked in and the release process should be smoother moving forwards.

For Savage Worlds Edition Player's Guide pre-orders, books were ordered last week and we hope to have them for shipping soon. You will receive email notifications that your book has shipped. For Pathfinder Edition Player's Guide pre-orders, we are waiting on one last proof, then will be ordering the pre-orders for shipping.

In the meantime, pre-orders are still available from the RedBrick Shop. However, once the print order arrives, these will revert to full pricing. If you want to get your pre-order, now is the time to do it!

The Game Master's Guides are well into layout and the expanded development team has done a bunch of work on locating and fixing errors. You can expect this book to be available for pre-order next weekend. With the delays from taking the time to quality check the Player's Guide, unfortunately we are running a little late with the GM Guides; as a result, the pre-order period will be much shorter.

Next up after the GM Guide is the Parlainth Campaign Setting book.

Thank you for your ongoing patience. We are looking forward to getting books back into print (first cab off the rank, this time).

Now, back to the computer... :)

Kind regards, James

Hi Robert.

Robert Little wrote:
I've only had time to flip thru the new book, but I've noticed from some of the comments on the RedBrick forums that there is already some potential errata. Has the books already been sent off for printing or is there a chance that some of the errata turned up by the pre-order folks might make it into the first printing?

Long Answer: The book was released early so that people could get their hands on it (and getting feedback early is always a good thing). There will be an update to the PDF once we finalize print files and get ready for shipping pre-orders. I will be running one more round of proofs before we commit to "print proper", so that will take a week or so. We are still aiming for an approximately mid-April print release, but I may delay that a week if I feel we're too rushed at the very last (quality takes priority).

Short Answer: There's still some feedback (and some errata) to go into the print book. That will be put in before it goes to print.

Hope this helps!

Kind regards, James

Hmm, still no Download link. In the place where it should be (judging from my SW order) it says "NOTE: Downloads are not available until payment has been confirmed."

Hmmm... Weird. I can see your order and it's there. Let's take this off the forums (wrong place to be having this discussion). Can you please drop me an email to james@redbrickllc.com? I'm looking at your order details in the database now.

erian_7 wrote:
My order (#44) doesn't show a download link as yet--are y'all still working through some of these? I got the Savage Worlds version no problem and am very please with the PDF formatting thus far.

My bad, erian_7. I missed this early order (SQL fail). Fixed! You should be good to go now. Thanks for letting me know!

Hi HappyDaze,

If you mean the Ability Score section on p.33, that's an Optional Rule (you don't have to use it). Just use the standard Pathfinder rules for character creation...

Enjoy! Back to bug-hunting, print preparation, and wrestling the GM Guides into shape for pre-orders later in the month (along with the other game lines we're working on products for).

Coltaine wrote:
Will you have the PDF available through the Paizo Store as well?

Our license with DriveThruRPG precludes us from doing this at the moment, but we are looking to getting permission. However, I don't have a timeframe as to when they might happen, sorry (we've asked; awaiting a reply).

Kind regards, James

No worries man. I just wanted to have an idea of when I should check.

I got close, then we had some fun and games wrestling the shop database into shape to retrofit Downloads into existing orders. Update here:

http://redbrickllc.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=390

The Pathfinder PDF placeholder will be updated with the real thing tomorrow evening. It's almost ready to roll, but I need to grab some sleep and I have work tomorrow (day).

We will be using placeholders in the future to ensure that we don't have to hack orders to insert download links.

So many lessons learned from this exercise. Thank you all for your patience and support as we roll through each unanticipated surprise.

ShadowcatX wrote:
Today's the day. Any idea what time it might be available?

This evening, sorry. I'm just about done with the Savage Worlds book, then on to the Pathfinder. Apologies for this delay; I hoped that I would get the time to deal to the Indexes during the week, but "real life" work commitments ate into my RedBrick time (we all have jobs and families; this isn't a full-time gig for any of us).

Got to bed around 4am; got my 6 hours of sleep, so back to fray!

Hiya,

Crispy3ed wrote:
Not quite sure what you mean by "will see a link appear in your order". Do we log in to RedBrick and it will be in the shop or my account areas of the website or will we be sent a email with a download link.

Kinda like with Paizo, here. When you login to our shop and look at your orders, you will see that there will be a link for you to download the PDF. But I'll email that info out to you.

The link is "disabled" (hidden) until the PDF is uploaded and activated, then it's available for you to grab a copy.

Don't worry; it will all make sense soon... :)

Just posted this to our News Announcements:

An update on the Earthdawn Savage Worlds and Pathfinder PDFs for those who have (or plan to take advantage of) pre-orders.

We are in the last stages of finishing these up and will upload them as soon as they have been checked (just some last-minute feedback and Indexes to go, but the latter is a time-consuming and soul-destroying task, albeit an important one). At this stage, the PDFs will not be available until Sunday, April 1 (expectation-management), but if we get a solid day of work in today, they might still be on for a late night March 31 release. Cross your fingers and toes now!

As soon as they are uploaded and enabled, those who have ordered will see a link appear in your order from our RedBrick Shop, allowing you to download your file.

We will send an email out to those who have ordered letting you know, but posting this announcement here for now.

Thank you all for your patience and your support. The pre-order thing is new for us and we have been overwhelmed by the response to date! Special thanks to those customers who suffered through some "teething problems" -- we really appreciate your feedback and look forward to streamlining things more over the next few months and beyond.

Back to the studio...

What about the Cathay stuff, are you redoing it for the ED SW and PF editions?

It's in the production schedule for after the Skypoint & Vivane Campaign Setting. The order for campaign settings goes: Parlainth, Skypoint & Vivane, Cathay. It's a bit of a wait, however. 2014 for Cathay at time of writing (though where we can bring products forward in the schedule, we will do so).

I think the issue is that State is a required field in the address info. Since I don't live in the US, and don't live in a state for postal address purposes, it's throwing a fit at me filling in the field with 'n/a', which works at every other site I've done business with. Or, to be more accurate, since the Redbrick site itself accepts that, and Paypal accepts the same for other businesses, I suspect there's something screwy in the interface between the two.

It's not worth the hassle to me to keep on trying. It'll be available on Drivethru eventually, and maybe I'll get it then.

Edit: And yes, I have checked the address is accurate other than that issue with the 'State' field.

Ah! I think you got caught by the change we made to allow for dropdown states (I'm from New Zealand as well, by the way ... just some trivia). They can (and should be blank) if you don't have a State for your Country of Residence. It's also possible the interface doesn't like the "/" character in "n/a" (people have NA in this field and it works fine for them).

I've removed the "n/a" in your shop registration for State and that should hopefully fix the problem!

If not, as indicated above, please drop me an email or use the Contact Us form on the site. That way I can help you directly instead of messing around on forums. :)

The books will appear on OneBookShelf, but they will be at full price (and the shipping may be more expensive), so it's worth getting registered. Also we will be making products available from our Online Store that you won't be able to get anywhere else, in the future.

Again, sorry for the nuisance factor. And I appreciate you taking the time to describe your problem so that we can answer it with a solution.

Kind regards, James

Paul Ryan wrote:
Looks interesting, but since the publisher's site or Paypal payment system doesn't like my address, I'll not be pre-ordering.

Hi Paul,

If you can send me an email (james@redbrickllc.com or you can use the Contact Us link on our RedBrick Shop) and include a description of the problem you are having (either entering your address in the registration process, or Paypal having fun with your address -- note: it needs to match the address recorded with your bank or with Paypal), then we can probably help.

Mechanics are open content, but names, "fluff" descriptions, etc., are Product Identity. You have to bear in mind that Earthdawn is FASA Corporation's license and we are bound by more restrictions than if it was our own Intellectual Property.

I think you'll find that kind of "denial" (or at least, "non-confirmation") was part of the FASA design philosophy. I'd explain that statement in more detail, but it's one of those things that's better talked about over a few beers in an informal setting, rather than plastered all over the Internet. :)

Hiya,

@Crossovers: Not sure where you got your information, Chuck (I get mine direct from FASA these days), but there was a definite crossover between ED and SR during the FASA era, even if it wasn't played up as much as some fans think it should have been. Post-FASA period, not so much.

If Shadowrun had stayed with Fanpro, then things would certainly be a lot different than they are now. As it is, other than a brief liaison with some seeds in one of the SR4 adventure series ("no spoilers, sweetie"), there's no official crossovers between anything ED and SR these days and no plans for that to change.

As it stands, anyone wanting to run a crossover game is more than welcome to do so on my watch. Draw connections as you will; as long as you're having fun, you're doing it right.

@Theran bias: It's ED1 for Pathfinder. Those Therans are still hated by most Namegivers in Barsaive (although, to be fair, given the Barsaive province bias, the bias against Therans is always going to be accentuated. /grin).

Kind regards, James

Incomprehensible alien monstrosities that feed off of our suffering, perhaps.

Orks are a core player race in Earthdawn, Mikaze. As are trolls. They are very different from the orcs you will find in Pathfinder. There is a short write-up in the Player's Guide, a little more information in the GM Guide, and a full write-up in the upcoming Denizens of Barsaive sourcebooks. Orks are awesome...

Robert Little wrote:
What exactly does it mean when they describe the PF/SW Earthdawn as based on 1st Ed Earthdawn, as opposed to the current 3rd Ed? Is it primarily timeline and setting based, or are there other differences we need to be aware of?

The game materials are based on Earthdawn First Edition, as published by FASA, so are set in that time period (1506 TH, if you are familiar with ED timekeeping) and use the talents, spells, etc., presented in the FASA publications. Setting is the same (Barsaive). If you have a lot of ED books already, there's no surprises in this content, right down to the look-and-feel (very retro-FASA).

As we've noted on our web site (check out the House of 'Brick newsletter, in the Downloads section of the Forums), these editions are to get the game out to PF/SW gamers who might have heard of Earthdawn, but never played it because PF/SW are their preferred game systems.

Earthdawn Third Edition is its own creature and could be considered "core" Earthdawn. New material incorporated into ED3 likely won't make any appearances in the PF/SE edition straight-away (it might, in time, but it's too early to call).

The way that we have approached PF/SW Earthdawn is to accept that there will be divergence from the core. There is a larger player base for both of these game systems, and the nature of that means that there will (hopefully) be more people playing ED.

However, there's a lot of material out for both PF and SW, and we're interested in seeing what other gamers bring to the Earthdawn party in terms of fan-based material and (hopefully) submitted adventures and supplements that can be published.

My pipe dream is to see Earthdawn played in the context of a Pathfinder Society setup at conventions (as it used to be in the Living Earthdawn era), but that's really up to the players to decide.

Bottom line is that we would love to see more people exposed to the Earthdawn setting and we're not "precious" (and nor is FASA) about seeing it grow beyond the limitations of the ED3 player base, which is small, but loyal (and we love them for that; it's so very important).

Not sure if that answered the question well, but hopefully it did.

Thing of note from the Newsletter: The books (hard and softcover) are all 6.14x9.21”, so smaller than the books we are normally used to (unless you play Savage Worlds, then I guess you might be used to the smaller books :) )

For the RedBrick folks, since the page size is roughly 40% smaller, is the overall word count about 40% less, or do ya'll tweak with font size and margins to try and keep a higher word count? (i.e. if it was a full sized book would it be around 165 pages, or more?)

I've tweaked font size and margins to keep as high a word count as is reasonable, without sacrificing readability (and I have poor eyesight, so I'm a reasonably fair judge).

The word count is comparable to a Letter-size book. We don't skimp on those sorts of things. :)

The 276 page Player's Guide is roughly word-equivalent to a ~220 page Letter-size book, for example. It's not an exact science, however. Some products are text-dense; others less so. And word count is a tricky creature when it comes to stat blocks...

As a side note, the book interiors are actually based on a 6"x9" template (which is why the PDFs are 6"x9"). The additional space is used for print margins, to keep the text in a position where you don't have to bend the spines in two to read the content close to the spine. With print on demand, there has to be allowance in template design for some variance; so that's the real reason for the slightly larger-than-6x9 book size. It's the same cost to print as a 6x9; just with a little more flexibility from a publication perspective. Not sure if that's of interest to anyone, but I figured it might make some people go "a-ha, that's why!"
