Antarah takes the book with the quote and starts flipping through it. In fact, he looks for somewhere to sit while diving into the pages.

Before going to bed, Antarah joins Haleen in looking at the books. The last time he did, he found himself a very interesting one on genies. He spends a while looking at them.

Call it a take 20 at going through book titles. Searching for anything on the genies.

Just before going to take a bath himself, Antarah says "Well, I say we go shopping for things we can't find in Kelmarane, then we head back. Maybe set up some trade routes, if we can."

Lol, all we had to do was cast Read Magic. Love player lack of vision.

Antarah looks at Aithaloessa and says "Look, don't get too excited. We don't know how long it will take him to decipher something."

Most likely, we'll continue the story somewhere else and at a predetermined point, we'll get a message from Rayhan that he went in alone and we have to rescue him or something.

Antarah stands incredulous at Rayhan's tale. It sounds like the things he liked to read when he was young, but he speaks as if all of it were true. He is confused and intrigued.

He says "This is incredible! How is it that we can help you?" Suddenly Antarah is suspicious that Rayhan is lying and only giving part of the information. If treasures are involved, wouldn't he want it for himself? He stays silent however, driven by his curiosity.

Antarah intercedes and says "We found it in a tomb in there. It looked important. We also found a chainmail and a weapon with the corpse. Any idea who it might be?"

Looks like Aith has found her match.

Antarah arrives and wants to take a bath after Haleen, but it looks like Aithaloessa has gone right to it. He accompanies the two to the library, being curious himself.

He's doing the best he can!

Antarah sighs in relief as Haleen remembers the letter.

Antarah stays silent during the whole talking scroll business. He doesn't wish to say something idiotic, but ultimately believes the man.

In front of Rayhan's home, he leaves his sword in its sheathe and watches silently. He tries a simple "We are sorry for the disturbance. We seek a wise man." He awkwardly leaves out that they are looking for a specific wise man, but he shuts himself up to let the others speak, as they are usually more articulate.

Hope they're ok. My plan is full magus, so...

Antarah agrees and says still a little out of breath "It looks like we can get through anything." He quickly shuts up, remembering in the stories how things usually get worse when someone celebrates it going well.

Looking around, he says "I wonder if we'll stop hearing about troublesome gnolls near town now."

After years of training to work metal into deadly weapons, and the magical secrets to imbue them with powerful enchantments, Antarah is asked to build and animate a theater prop. He is so confused that it takes him full minutes to process this information as the others think of theories and find tracks. He finally says, completely out of context "I suppose..."

He realizes he has been following the group to some rocky terrain. Not realizing that it looks like he has started a sentence without finishing, he says "What's wrong, Aithaloessa, do you need help with your tracking?"

Antarah opens his eyes wide and says "This is a powerful wand! I can't use it, but I bet Tariq can."

Lesser restoration with 19 charges. Is this a bad omen that ability damage is coming?

Antarah says "That was surprising. I was fulling expecting to find someone here. I suppose all the gnolls and hyenas down at the oasis became fodder to this worm."

He detects magic and takes a look around thinking maybe it could have been worth the trouble.

@Aith: I remember you had a combo for some specific weapon enchant. Is it too much if I ask you to remind me every time you use it? I'm forgetful like that.

Antarah steps forward and draws his sword, swinging it at the creature with two hands. With his newfound speed, Antarah gladly swings twice.

Antarah sees what is going on. He decides that fighting on the horse will be too difficult and dismounts and draws his sword.

Antarah also fails to see anyone, but trusts Tariq's vision. He says "Sure, we'll check it out." He goes in front, unarmed, as he doesn't want to threaten anyone.

I suppose the horsie won't have an easy time climbing either.

Antarah suggests building a fire from the empty chests and crates to warm them during the night.

Deducting 110gp for a wartrained light horse

Antarah still finds the man suspicious, but he doesn't do anything. However, he does relax a little, seeing how pitiful the man is. Finally, he offers "Come, ride my horse."

Can we buy horsies for the trip?

Antarah is glad to be moving again, despite liking his spell forge. He takes a few practice swings with his mother's scimitar and starts to move.

Upon seeing the man, he carefully takes a look around, wary of traps.

Antarah reminds Haleen that he can only craft weapons, but if she wants to enchant some armor, he'd be happy to help, even though at the moment he is working on Yasmeena's weapon.

Antarah gladly starts enchanting Yasmeena's bow. In his spare time he keeps on skimming the newcomers for an apprentice.

Antarah approaches Aithaloessa and says "Hey, I don't think you need to prove you need to swing an axe. If you can direct their training and motivation, you'll be a far more respected sheriff than most. How about this, you state the axe's properties to your guard and claim it is meant to be wielded by your lieutenant. Whoever proves themselves worthy can claim the title. All of them will strive to become better guards."

Antarah is hoping Haleen isn't celebrating too early. He gathers his things and readies to go.

Antarah adds "Well, I did hope to fire up my furnace, but it'll have to wait until we come back. But I do think we should instruct the guard about the gnolls somehow. In case they don't get wind of us leaving. Just a heads up, maybe."

Could such a reforge happen?

Antarah isn't very good at dealing with rumors. He gathers the Knights and says "I'm fairly sure these gnolls are being told to come. We just need to figure out who and have them stop."

I understand Antarah got off with more value. I'll happily throw in money into the stack to make up for it.

Is Aithaloessa slowly transforming into something? Oh man, is she going to be the BBEG? That'd be bad. I knew I should have been more suspicious every since that mold started to grow.

Antarah replies to Haleen "Sure thing, I can work on that armor and shield no problem. I'll probably need some time though."

Antarah immediately starts to reset his shop. He also starts looking for someone looking for an apprenticeship. Maybe the son or daughter of one of the town residents, or even the freed slaves that just came into town. They probably need some employment. He looks for a younger one who looks to have both the arm endurance and the brains to learn the basics of magic.

He hears Haleen call for battle in the arena, but he's a little tired and would like some respite from fighting.

After the meeting, Antarah takes a look at his shop. There is some dust that he needs to clean and all his wares are in his blacksmith back in the group's headquarters, safely locked.

He tells Haleen "I am not an expert armorsmith, but let me think of a few enchantments that could help you. Hmmm, first I can make it easier to avoid some combat maneuvers and to stay balanced (balanced). Can't really think of any other."

That's all I could find for enchantments.

Ok!!! I just got +4 to my AC. That doesn't happen everyday. It's still low, but... I'm not unhappy.

During the trip I took the one of those composite bows amulet of health and headband of int. I also want the +1 breastplate since Tariq is getting the +3 chainmail.

I think we should keep the heals and tongues definitely.

Antarah shifts in his seat and says "You mean looking at it from a reflected surface?" He feels a little silly, but he doesn't say he is unwilling to try. He looks at Aithaloessa looking for some reaction.

Despite being tired, Antarah doesn't like to leave a task unfinished. He asks "What more is there to say? We know what this scroll is, although we can't read whatever this rune is hiding. We know who might, this... Rayban? We have a goal!" He likes to keep it simple when he is tired.

Ancient god-like villains are nothing short of predictable.
