Fort Save 1:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22 Fort Save 2:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Despite taking some hits, Ano endures, attacking in fury.
Since my Base ATK is +6, does this mean I can make the two attacks with a full round at +6 and +1? Also don’t forget blur is under effect for Ano, which means concealment (20% miss chance)
Ano prepares to strike at the ghoul charging, but she suddenly returns to normal size, causing her attack to whiff badly as she focuses on maintaining her footing.
"Cherry, can you fly back to Sandpoint and speak to Father Zantus? It may increase our chances of saving these people by having him come here, while we go on ahead to the Misgivings."
Ano, despite her temporary size and distortion, tries to object, but the cardinal nods, and takes off flying back to town.
“I really don’t like him flying on his own at night…” Ano mutters.
“This is a trap. I can smell the rot of ghoul from two scarecrows down the way. I don’t know how many scarecrows there are, and how many are ghouls. But we need to stick close and keep an eye out. You never know what will-”
Suddenly her spots rapidly flash, and with a yelp, Ano shrinks.
“Wha-what happened? Why are you all taller?”
Casting reduce person on herself, lasting 4 minutes
Juriya asks something out of nowhere "Ano. Do you know what your maternal grandparents look like?"
Ano’s ears folded. “No. I never met them. My aunt told me stories about my grandparents, but that’s all I know about them. My m-Fosyo-didn’t want me to go to Magnimar at all, so I never got the chance to visit them.”
“Alicia” wrote:
”Ano, do you feel fatigued after useing your abilities? I do after mine. Probably... like I expect a drug hangover would be?”
“Every single time. Unfortunatley I can’t really control when it will and won’t show up.”
At the farm
Ano tenses up, she tries to scout out the area with her nose.
Ano blinked, “Magic? I mean, I don’t…I kinda feel like there’s magic in me? But I don’t know how to cast it.”
Internally, she’s panicking. She’s hoping you-know-who won’t ever catch her casting magic. Sandpoint will go through more hell in that case. And that is not something this town needs right now.
Ano awoke to something jabbing her face; she groggily snarled at whoever was the cause of it, only to discover it was Cherry.
"Come on, Ano! You're going to oversleep! The others are downstairs!" the bird chirped, already fluttering down to the room. The bird lands on Donimah's shoulder.
The catfolk pulled herself together, washing her face and getting prepared. Every now and then, a sharp pain would come from a random spot, and said spot would flash blue for a moment. She asked as she walked down,
"Hey, anyone know what's going on? A random spot on me keeps flashing blue and I-" She pauses when she notices Alicia's claws. "Wait...are you going through something similar to me?"
As for Juriya's question, Ano remarks, "Let's take the farm first. If there's any farmers left in the area we can save them before anything else. Plus, less ghouls, less danger for Sandpoint."
Ano drags herself home, setting Cherry on his little nest on the dresser, and promptly collapses on her bed. Throughout her sleep, her spots repeatedly glow a faint sheen of blue, as she has an odd dream about fire from her fingers and primal power spilling out of her very existence.
Ano looks at Arrian and speaks, sounding more dead than alive, “I think I’m just going to head home. If I stay awake any longer I’m going to sleep on the street…” Cherry is already sleeping soundly on her shoulder.
Ano wants to chime in, being a child who lost her father…but this isn’t the time. She knows it isn’t. Plus, with how on edge she is, she might let more of her emotions out than needed. So the catfolk holds her tongue.
Ano immediately breaks her silence. “Absolutely not. You should be considered lucky we got here in time. Those ghouls will not spare you or your baby. We promise, we’ll get you to a place where you and your baby will be safe.”
Outside, unbeknownst to the others, Ano looked up at the stars and the moon.
Desna…I feel lost. More murders are happening, they are taking lives like how it was years ago. We know where to go to stop, but I don’t have the strength to push on now. I want nothing more than to stop this madman…but if I falter he could run free and kill more. But if I go forth we shall be exhausted and vulnerable. I can’t fail…I can’t…what do I do?
Might replace magic missile with shield. Still keeping reduce person because I feel like that would be good to have in case the fight gets more serious for Ano’s Dex build:
Dex boost + size reduction = even better AC, plus better attack rolls, and with Fencing Grace her Dex for damage is better.
Ano sighs in relief as she sees Redmane taking care of Grayst. She notices Jumb jotting down notes, and...not expecting that, she gave a little chuckle. Not in a demeaning way, it was honestly kind of cute-a little light she needed in these dark times.
Ano glares at the others in confusion seeing Grayst still alive. "Wait...he's still...what happened to mercy killing him?!" she spits out, her patience running thin tonight.
"Sheriff, I understand your worries, but someone needs to investigate the Sanitarium. We have no idea how much Habe has been working for the killer, or how much he's known. Nor do we know what other atrocities he's committed if he's willing to let a man slowly become a ghoul, instead of killing him like any rational person would do."
Ano rushes inside, taking a cup of coffee offered. She normally isn't big on it but she needs something warm to drink-her stomach is still a little iffy from that magic.
"The thing is, Grayst was attacked by the murderer, and...the murderer seems to be a ghoul. Because Grayst was turning into one before our eyes. I don't want to imagine what would happen to Arrian if..."
The amurrun took a sigh and resumed, "That's not all. Habe knew Grayst contracted ghoul fever...and he was on talking terms with a necromancer. Habe knew the whole time-Grayst having the fever, meeting the murderer, the murderer being a ghoul. But kept quiet. Until we showed up."
Yeah, that’s why Urgathoa is considered one of Pharasma’s biggest enemies-undeath itself happened because Urgathoa ditched her judgement day, became the first undead being and constantly makes more undead to spite Pharasma.
