Well, the flavor text says 'Your unarmed fighting techniques blend...". Then right after that, a prerequisite is a Improved Unarmed Strike. I would read this is yes, you need to be able to perform an unarmed attack to use this. If you could use this with a weapon, then I don't believe that Improved Unarmed Strike would be a perquisite.

I agree with James, there's too much that can happen between the end of your last round, and the beginning of the next. There are certain things that can you can prep for, especially if you play with this group and there's a lot of synergy. But you have to give each player at least a little bit of time before they go. With that said, I have used card, boards, computers, etc. My favorite was always little index cards that I had made that I passed out to the players. I only have to remember the initiative order, and I call out the number (1 just went, so it's 2...the player then jumps in). This fosters two things, 1, the player has to pay attention, and it's really easy to make sure that you don't skip anyone, and allows them to 'prep'. I don't let them 'Play By Committee' with this method, but people that have adventured for a while should have, at least, an idea of what to expect from their party.
Yeah, based off of the PRD (http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/combat.html) we can see that confirming on a critical hit requires that the 'confirm' hits. Earlier in the same document, it also says that a 'natural' 20 is always a hit. I would say that RAW states that YES, two 20's in a row would confirm.
I would have to say, for most classes, at high level, 200hp of damage per round isn't that good really. Case in point, level 2 Barbarian, less than a week ago, 'critted' with his Greataxe, while raging, average rolls, for 46 points of damage. Think about it: Strength: 18 (+4)
Base Damage: 1d12+6
Rage Damage: 1d12+9
Damage Range (non crit): 7-18hp
Now, that doesn't count any feats that may increase anything, magical weapons that the player may have/get, etc. This is just the basic math for a typical, level 1 Barbarian, with a mundane Greataxe. While a fighter can't rage, he/she can still do pretty respectable damage, given the right weapon. In home campaigns that I used play, 200-400hp each round, for each character, was achievable. It didn't happen everytime (no accounting for natural 1's, lol), but it did happen. Take the above listed Barbarian and give him 11 more levels, without feats, without anything else, just strength and a mundane greataxe, he/she has the possibility to get 63hp of damage, 3 times in a round (also not accounting for any AOO's). That would be a total of 189 points of damage. So, when you say that people think it's attainable, yes, it in fact is fairly easily attainable, just by the simple math examples that I showed.
I agree with James, when ordered to do something, you didn't do it as called for by The Society. Because of this, you lost out on that prestige point. The Society doesn't really have the resources to police the world, and causing an international incident over a single person can be disastrous, especially if The Society takes the brunt of it. Because of this single action, trust in the Pathfinder Society, it's agents, and the functions that it performs, can be called in to question. How are the other kingdoms are going react when they find out that The Society circumvented the laws of another land? It's tricky, I haven't lost any prestige because of something like this, but have come really, really close... So, to answer your question, if the players don't meet the requirements for the second prestige point, then they shouldn't get it.
There is an error with the retailer registration. When you attempt to upload an image it returns you to the home page. Basically, you can attempt to register the store, then you fill out the information, then you are prompted to upload a 'store front' image. When an image that is loaded that meets the requirements listed (format is .jpg and width is between 500px and 1000px) a popup is displayed, it then appears as though the image is being uploaded. The popup then goes to the paizo.com/paizo page and the main window is refreshed to paizo.com/paizo. Any word on what might be causing this? Thanks.
Hey everyone, our Venture-Lieutenant (Nathan Littlefield) has received his first GM star last night. A picture of him getting his certificate is here: http://hornetsnestlodge.org/?p=201
Please join me in congratulating kekashi for getting his first Pathfinder Society GM Star. Here is a blog post, from our website, with a photo of him getting his certificate: http://hornetsnestlodge.org/?p=199
I recently got access to the Creative Cloud software, which allows me to use Acrobat Pro and Photoshop CC to get pretty nice results with the map images included in the scenario pdfs. For the larger scale maps (like those found in the Shattered Star Adventure Path) I just recreate those in either Illustrator or Photoshop, that way I can scale them as I need to get the result I want. I can then output them to a PDF and use the built in poster function to print it out as pages (I had one of the Shattered Star maps print out some 40+ pages when it was done...)
So, last night (9/24/2013), I had a player ask me about the Rhino Hide Armor (http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/magicItems/armor.html#_rhino-hide) for his animal companion. The question as, on his animal companion's pounce attack, since it's initiated by a charge, does it get the +2d6 damage on all 5 of it's attacks? I found some information on this, and I am reading that the general consensus is yes (http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2n60e?Rhino-Hide-Pounce). This is how I understand it, from my readings: 1) Charge - +2 to attack, -2 to AC
Is that how everyone else is reading this? Thanks in advanced!

Unfortunately, since you have to replace a bloodline power, they don't stack. For clarification: Tattooed Sorcerer is a sorcerer archetype (found on page 40 of Inner Sea Magic), this grants certain changes to the character. At 9th level, this archetype gives 'Enhanced Varisian Tattoo, which replaces the 9th level bloodline power. Empyreal is a bloodline option for Wildblooded sorcerers. This replaces certain celestial bloodline powers. Since Enhanced Varisian Tattoo replaces replaces the 9th-Level bloodline power, you just loose Empyreal, since that's the new 9th-level bloodline power.
I don't believe that is how it works. In fact, I think you are stacking things together that won't stack. Lesser Beast Totem grants you two (2) claw attacks. When an alchemist takes a Feral Mutagen, she gets two (2) claw attacks AND a bite attack. Instead of stacking to give four (4) attacks, you just add one a new bite attack. If the Feral Mutagen gave a better set of attacks, you would just use those. Finally, Maw or Claw gives you either a bite or claw attacks. Since they don't stack, I wouldn't waste all of them.
If you look at the Additional Resources page, you can see that there is a list of archetypes, near the bottom. Typically, what's listed there is what's legal, but that list specifically lists those items out as not legal. Missing from that list is the Wildblood archetype. Since a Linnorm is a dragon, and the associated blood line is draconic, and it's not listed specifically on the 'not legal' archetype list for the Ultimate Magic list, I would say it's legal. An d since Linnorms are dragons, that shouldn't hamper your ability to take levels in Dragon Disciple.
I don't think that there are any rules that say you can't (at least none that I have found), but worrying about your character in the heat of battle, while you are trying to stop the party from succeeding at their missions could get a bit hairy. I know that, if the party isn't large enough to run the minimum (4 players) then you are encouraged to NPC one of the pregen characters. You can find that information in the Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play, Chapter 7 (page 31), Section: Legal Table Size.
Hello everyone, I have created an event for October 26th 2013 (details here). As of right now, we are looking for about 8 GMs. We have the space to accomadate up to 10 (it might be a squeeze though). This will be my first large event (read more than 1 session) so bear with me as I get into the grove of organizing this. If you have any questions, please contact me at venturecaptain@hornetsnestlodge.org or my Venture Lieutenant (Nathan Littlefield) at riscaan@hornetsnestlodge.org. The Pathfinder Society Events page will have the details of the sessions we plan to run, along with times. I am in the process of getting a Warhorn.net page setup for this event. Thanks a lot everyone!
I don't see any documentation on that, and I have been messing around with 6.0.0.1 for a little bit. I always have the green checkmark. I am assuming that there is something wrong with the dataset you are using. Try this: Save your character
After all of that, do you still see the warning icon?
I don't play a lot of Clerics myself, but the guys in my groups that do usually go for the buff/de-buff spells. Since you are a spontaneous caster, you can always drop a spell (that's not an orison, or domain spell) of any level to cast a spell with 'cure' in it's title, of the same level, stocking up on cure spells isn't really that big of a deal. Here's what I usually see them casting: Protection from Evil
Please join me in welcoming the first Venture Lieutenant of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area, Nathan Littlefield. He will be assisting me in organizing the Pathfinder Society events in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area (and surrounding areas). He brings years of gaming experience to the table, I have gamed with him (him GMing, and him playing in my games). Welcome to the team!
Hello everyone, This topic is for the Hornet's Nest Lodge, in Charlotte, NC. website address: http://www.hornetsnestlodge.org
The area that I am starting with is the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area. There is a contact form on the website, if you need to contact me, or any Venture Lieutenants (as they become available). Let me know if you are in the area!
I run 'skill monkeys' instead of combat oriented players. My Rogues can sneak attack every single round (after a few levels), causing massive damage, but only because I put so many ranks into Bluff...because I would rather talk my way out of combat, than fight. Doesn't mean I can't fight, but it's a last resort for my characters. Some of the scenarios, that I have read, can be pretty brutal. As always, though, there's always more than one way to skin a goblin...running head first into any battle is the surest way to get your PC killed, no matter how much you optimize.
