If told to recalculate:

Astrogation: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 4) + 2 = 10
"No problem sir, I did used to be good at this..."


Alison rolls her eyes, "Sure, we're not doing anything, search away."

Astrogation: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (2, 3) + 2 = 7

"So long stable ground..."


Sorry, my depression hit me bad last week and I just lost enthusiasm for pretty much everything. I'm through the worst of it for now and will endeavor to be more loquacious.


While that's useful to know - at least in the 2e mongoose version I couldn't find anywhere that actually called out which ability to use for Astrogation. Which seems odd for something that's a common skill check... Of course I may have just missed it.


Astrogation: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 2) + 2 = 7 Oh dear, Astrogation is Int and not Edu isn't it? If I could use EDU I've got another +1..

Yay, I knew one of my first rolls would be double 1's, was expecting it to the astrogation one


Is that my job? I'm a little rusty that's Astrogation+Intelligence right? Do you still get modifiers for taking your time/any modifier from following another ship? Astrogation: 2d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4, 3) + 1 + 1 = 9


"Either he's got friends that way to take more of our cargo, or he's telling the truth and doesn't want more trouble to come to a quarry that rolled over so easily for him. Either way there's danger - skirmishes or pirates?" Alison sighs the thought of ship to ship combat makes her feel sick, "Honestly I'd rather take his word and risk more pirates than trigger-happy battleships."
