Alexis swears as her phone starts ringing from her purse. "Sorry! It's work, I have to take this." She gets up from the table as she pulls an iPhone out of her purse. "Hey, Janine, what's up?", is the last thing the table hears before she walks out the store to have the work conversation outside. I figure that's as good a way as any to explain why Alexis isn't able to play while I'm at GenCon. :)
Alexis glances at Phil with open exasperation. "Yeah, of course they're clean. I wouldn't spring magic brownies on people without them knowing!" Phoebe Barrett wrote:
Alexis smiles her partner explains her character. She looks around the table and nervously brushes an errant lock of hair behind her right ear. "So, this is my first game, so can you take it easy on the new girl?" Not a problem, Phoebe. Alexis will be very nervous and unsure of how anything works this first adventure, so she'll be following your lead and asking LOTS of questions. I signed up for the 'partner dragged to the table,' and that means relying on the experienced player to help a lot!
"Um, I brought some brownies," Alexis offers, pulling out a reusable container lined with wax paper with small black squares of rich chocolaty goodness. "I normally put walnuts in them, but I wasn't sure if anyone had allergies. Oh! And they're not gluten-free. Is anyone gluten-free?" She opens the top, and passes them around to the group, starting with her bae.
I actually had us in graduate student housing. There's apparently two on campus, and I chose the cheaper of the two. Manville Apartments.
Thanks, DAA! If I recall, CoC doesn't follow a traditional skill point system. When you succeed at a skill roll in game, you make a check mark next to it. When the GM states that an adventure has come to an end, you make another check, this time trying to exceed your total. If you beat it, you earn 1d3 points on that skill. Basically, it's hard to learn a new skill, but there comes a time when you really start picking up on the stuff, followed by a time where it's very difficult to advance again. |
