Sorry, Nevyxxx, I meant to start at O13... Standing above the demihuman with a pike, he calmly swings the weapon at the creature's Kukri. Disarm1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 "Boy, if you want to keep that hand, don't draw a weapon on me again." Sorry, looking at the wrong section of map... I'm in the room before the orphans, facing the door, at the back of the group... so I'm at O-13, sorry for the confusion...

Alex shakes his head in utter frustration... There were harder locks than this on windows of merchants' homes... As a child he had to pick locks like these while hanging by one hand, and he had to get them open in less than a minute or he wouldn't be standing here today... And this man was spending ten minutes on each lock... Every failed picking, every dropped tumbler, every whispered curse after dozens of failures... These little annoyances are grating on Alex's nerves... We have watched him fail nearly sixty five times in far less than an hour and he is still pompous and self congratulatory....
Male Human Ranger 1 (Spell-less Urban)
Alex moves forward quietly with cosh in hand, 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24 utterly silent... His face shows an expression of disdain as he swings the weapon down 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5can't recall the crit modifier, can someone check and/or roll in the discussion for me...? I'm currently at work

Lazlo the Vigilante wrote:
Alex gives an expression in the direction of Lazlo, it was very similar to a smile, but this expression did not show the slightest amusement, but it did show a large number of teeth. "Morality is what separates me from Lamm, I have standards. I know that when people curse me they will have to look into my face and know that while they hate me and see me as just another merc with a weapon, I see myself as a man. I have a code." Alex hisses, "If you want to go through your life as just another butcher, the scum underneath of the shoes of the real heroes, that's fine by me, but don't ever think that because I won't kill a sleeping man, I won't kill... You are wrong. I think that the best way to win a fight is with one man down and still breathing, but if I ever think that its me or him, and I know he's going at me with everything he's got... I'm not going to hold back. Alex straightens up and he holds his weapon tightly, Alex is not a very large man, but speaking down to him because he has morals seems to have struck a nerve.
Male Human Ranger 1 (Spell-less Urban)
Alex looks at Lazlo and then at Askan, "I agree with Askan, Its very unlikely that anyone would be able to interrogate him without him shouting out, and I am not a butcher. I won't be soaked in the blood of a sleeping man simply because you don't want to search the old fashioned way." Alex grips his ranseur in one hand and reaches for his cigars with the other... then stops and sighs annoyed that he can't smoke
Male Human Ranger 1 (Spell-less Urban)
Alex goes to the door behind the desk, and attempts to peer under the door, looking for boots or shoes Currently at square P9 If no shoes are visible, Alex will attempt to peek through the keyhole can someone check the desk, for keys or such? Alex whispers as he goes about his business
Male Human Ranger 1 (Spell-less Urban)
As Lazlo goes to pick the lock, Alex takes up position behind and to the right a little ways, ranseur in hand and eyes darting around, looking for anything that would cause trouble to the vigilante. Perception1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Male Human Ranger 1 (Spell-less Urban)
Alex glares at Askan, Lazlo, and Basil, "First of all, I said, 'We need a leader', not 'I am going to be the leader.' I said we needed a person in charge so that the group, which, If I'm not mistaken has six members, and that means we can theoretically have a 3/3 tie, which means we need a tie breaker. We need someone with a modicum over control over the others, even if it is only a formality. Now, Borden seems to think I should be the leader, and looking at the rest of you, the only one who seems to be quiet and thoughtful is Kazandru, so he would get my vote if it got put to it." Alex, Borden, Lazlo, Basil, Askan, and Kazandru, Yup, six Alex twists his ranseur's butt into the ground, craving a cigar, but not enough to risk the group, "I agree with the stealthy approach, but I don't think we should move out until this matter gets solved."
Male Human Ranger 1 (Spell-less Urban)
Alex waves the others over, quietly whispering. "I think that there should be a leader or spokesperson for this group, Lamm has a strict chain of command, and he holds the leashes, he doesn't get arguments and that means his side is efficient. So efficient that the watch doesn't mess with him because they are covert. We need to be the same." Alex waits, letting them think for a minute before he tries to continue
Male Human Ranger 1 (Spell-less Urban)
"Well..." he sighs, "I'll try once, but I'm not going to try to wrangle the unwilling. If they want to charge off and do their own thing. I'm not going to force myself as leader, but I'd rather have a cohesive force than a cluster of individuals. he reaches for his cigars, but stops his hand halfway, deciding against it... He pats Borden's shoulder, thank you he says simply

Alex looks slightly surprised by the fact that someone looked to him for guidance, but he takes it all in 'stride'. He thinks for a short moment, and then replies I think that the river entrance is a terrible idea... Have you ever seen a portcullis drop onto a person? Being trapped at the bottom of a muck filled river with a metal spike through my stomach is not what I want to do with my night. A thought seems to cross his mind... A front door... Hmmm.... Does anyone know where we could find an Auroch?
Male Human Ranger 1 (Spell-less Urban)
Alex waits, quietly, doing all there is to do, chatting quietly, though very politely with the others, until the other members have returned. "Well I can use my weapons pretty well, and I'm pretty good in a brawl, I can climb, and jump pretty well, though I'm a touch hampered by my armor. I was born and raised in this city, so I know it very well, and I have quite a few contacts." Alex provides, his usual cloud of smoke absent for the moment as he holds the cigar between two fingers...

She did, and I thought you were...I went off to get rumors, you went off to scout. GM retconned it into I got rumors before the Harrow reading, and You went to scout after, So we will await your return to begin. *DISCLAIMER* That's just how I read it, so I could be wrong
Male Human Ranger 1 (Spell-less Urban)
I would totally go for the role of leader.... "I'm Alex Stride, you can call me Alex, or 'Strider' I don't care which." He grins like a shark behind the dark-smelling cloud, "And it seems our medium friend is right. The 'Little Lamms' are out in force over by Pier 17." Alex seems to straighten up more and taps his ranseur butt against the floor. "So we go in an hour when that fellow.... whatsisname....gets back? I'm fine with that." Askan might also want to remember he left his temple sword behind... it would be hilarious if he couldn't recon the place because he had to rush off to retrieve the weapon :P
Male Human Ranger 1 (Spell-less Urban)
"I was planning on getting some more information, you can't plan for the unknown, but I can plan for what I do. Alex calls back as he disappears into the night air. I'll be back in an hour if you all wish to wait, or meet back up Gather Information 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 3 + 1 = 22 DM: I'm looking for information on the area Gaedrn is occupying, what type of setup he has, and then I'm going to buy 100ft of silk rope and a set of manacles
Male Human Ranger 1 (Spell-less Urban)
Alex gives an 'I told you so' smile, when the old woman enters the room and reminds himself to give Foul Richie an silver for good information. Watching the others as she speaks Alex listens quietly. Giving a salute to the elderly woman, Alex says in a calm, but carrying voice, "Miss Zellara, I promise you, Gaedren will answer for his crimes." He steps out the door, dropping the smoldering cigar butt on the cobblestone path and grinding it slowly beneath his sole
Male Human Ranger 1 (Spell-less Urban)
Leaning against the wall, Alex seems to relax, as if he has stood and waited without knowing when the next interesting thing will happen for many nights. Every so often the coal at the end of his cigar glows a bright cherry red, he makes no further sound except for the inhale, the exhale, and the light settling of ash on the floor. He seems to nod imperceptibly when Lazlo speaks of the nature of Nobility, even though he does not agree with the levels of hatred. The poor sod who gathered this bunch has clearly not thought through all of the personalities. Some of them look like they are the type to give you a rough up, a couple would likely talk you ear off, and that last one is the type you only want to meet when they're on the other side of a nice sturdy set of bars.
Male Human Ranger 1 (Spell-less Urban)
1d10 ⇒ 5 Alex's lips twists at the mention of the name of Amara, but in the motion of the people moving into the room it is lost. Alex's cigar fills the room with just a hint of smokey foulness. He keeps his hands just softly gripping his weapon, not threatening anyone, just keeping it close at hand. "Its not likely to be one of us.... considering that Zellera the fortune teller was recently slighted by the unfortunate mister Lam." Alex says, head engulfed in the cloud of deep grey. Watching the others in the group quietly from the shadows and forsaking the offered food and drink.

Alex looks at Kazandru, and his face seems to scrunch up around the eyes, as if trying to remember something "Well, this Harrow card showed up mysteriously in my possession, and I was following the instructions there-upon" he says, each word allowing a little puff of smoke to pass through his lips, and ending the sentence with a large long cloud of smog. His stance is forced to relaxation, keeping a light grip on his weapon, Something about this person was vaguely familiar...as if I've met him before....
Male Human Ranger 1 (Spell-less Urban)
With the street knowledge in mind, Alex arrives at the meeting area with his polearm in one hand, and a battered and tarnished breastplate on. His careless stride is relaxed and he seems very at ease.. Pounding the butt of his hand on the door he smiles and leans on the weapon... Lighting a cigar
Male Human Ranger 1 (Spell-less Urban)
Alex Stride wakes, and sits up, a lengthy yawn pushing past his lips, and he gets up, walks across the room, gently tapping the old breastplate that is hanging on the back of his door. after he steps into the hallway outside the room he rents from the downstairs neighbor, he sighs, smelling the sweet and crisp aroma of fat frying meat into blackened shards. Wandering down the stairs he smiles at his landlady and passes over a small silver piece, receiving his overly fatty bacon and egg in return. coming back up to his room he eats the food with gusto, sitting on his bed, which just so happened to be the only thing in the room that could be sat on aside from the chest at the foot of the bed. Alex smiles and sets down the plate on his bedside table, but withdraws his hand in pain as he feels the card slice the webbing between his last two fingers. He twists his lips inquisitively and fishes the card out from under his plate. The card in hand, Mister Stride gathers his equipment and heads out the window, using a knotted rope tied to his bedpost that hasn't been untied in months. gather information
Using his various contacts throughout the district, Alex seeks to learn who else Gaedrien has angered, and who leaves Harrow Cards around as calling cards. Can't trust those damn things he thinks angrily, both that someone managed to get into his bedroom, and at the name of the man whom he is after. cards that tell the future...how can a card know anything!
Male Human Ranger 1 (Spell-less Urban)
Alex Stride sips his tea, which was prepared in an old boot and boiled until orange with some of yesterday's milk, and smiles at the other would be adventurers. "Soon enough we will have Gaedren by the short and curlies, then he will answer for his misdeeds." the smile is harsh, and brittle, any who look into Alex's eyes will see that the ranger is looking forward to the encounter
