Hey everyone, it's been a while since I have posted here but I am.looking for some help. We have a group of 4
So I have a chance to retool my guy via a magic item, basically reset and make it what I have. I am looking at trying to fill the gaps as a skald. Is there a way to switch hit with this guy or should I just focus on range? A half orc hornbow has been wonderful so far. We recently came into contact with an item that has mighty cleave on it...should I bother? I was looking at possibly taking the following feats to work with...
Thanks for the help. Skald vigor is a must everything else is good for switching. I just want to try and contribute the most to the party.
Simply put, we have a Druid a sorcerer and a two weapon fighter. I am at a cross roads, do I go reach cleric to support and be a second frontliner, or do I go skald and help give others more umph in combat along with anything we summon in and the druids pet. 25 point buy and the pc will be a half-orc. Thanks for the advice in advance
Hey everyone, going to be going to Kintargo for Hell”s Rebels
parameters: 25pt build, need 1 campaign trait and 1 other trait.
Friend may be starting a new campaign of Hell's Rebels. I am leaning towards more of a beat stick type character. The idea is that of a samurai who is trying to regain his honor. Yes, I know it is unoriginal but I just want to have some fun. I have a nice backstory which doesn't really need to be mentioned.
Musts: wielding a Nodachi, and having some out of combat purpose and durability, mostly durability. Any help is highly valued, and no I am not looking for optimization. I may ask the DM is the mount for samurai can be retooled to just be a companion. THanks
Is there a clarification for this teamwork feat. It seems confusing. In the description it says that it "You anticipate your ally's ranged attacks" which makes me think archery. But in the body of the work it says that it has more to do with reach weapons. Myself and a fellow player are having a debate about it. Thanks.
Hey all. I have an inquisitor nd i am trying to decide on his 11th level feat. So far he is kind of jack of all trades he uses a bow and a falchion to pretty good effect. Feats so far are .....
Looking at either prscise shot to pick up friendly fire maneuvers or ewp fauchard. Help please. Thanks.
Hi Guys.
I am thinking a Dwarven Inquisitor or Ranger2/Inquisitor for the rest of the game. What do you think? Is this a good idea or horrible? Ways to make them more viable?
Just a quick double check before I decide to do this. But if you multiclass you just add all the BAB and saves together right? So 2nd level ranger and 7th level inquisitor would be
Also for the following levels do I just keep adding on when they go up by one point? Just want to clarify, I am thinking yes, but sometimes what I think and what is true are two different things. Thanks
Hey everyone I am currently playing an archer inquisitor for carrion crown campaign. I am just trying to get him set up effectively. Any thoughts would be most welcome. Str 14, dex 16, con 13, int 12, wis 17, cha 11
Masterwork composite bow +2 str.
Various arrows including blunt and at least 20 coldiron, 20 silver and 10 adamantine blanched. Currently have about 1200gp
So I am currently playing an inquisitor and though I love the character it almost died for good last night. So I need a back up character. My ideas are either a tansmuter specialist or a eldritch knight/ tansmuter. We will only be going to about level 16, so which one would give me more bang for my buck in regards to versatility and melee damage potential.
And if you have other class ideas please keep in mind that spells are definitely a must and we are really only using core and APB classes.
Need some help making a party face. Two Avenues of thought Bard Archaeologist archetype, or an inquisitor Heretic archetype with conversion inquisition. Background is that this is for carrion crown. Stealth is a must, would disable device be all that important? We don't have a trap disabler. Also is use magic device useful in this adventure path? Thanks for the input.
Hey everyone. I am dming a group through Crimson Throne AP. I am just wondering about playing the casters in this AP especially the ones near the end in the last module. How many spells can they cast in a round? How would their familiars fit into combat etc... I don't play full casters so I find suddenly playing 12th level characters a bit daunting. I could fudge my way through it but I think my players deserve a better encounter than that. Thanks in advance
I understand this might be the wrong board so feel free to redirect it. I just finished DMing a group through a history of ashes, and one of the PCs is an ape shaman. He really wants to have the red reaver as a companion. Is this possible? Or just asking for trouble? Would there be a way to accommodate it? Thanks
Hey ladies and gents. I just got word that I will be getting to play in a carrion crown campaign. I usually play tanks (I.e.clerics and paladins). I know they would be great for this campaign but to like to challenge myself. Since I have never seen a ninja played I would like to play one. So......half-orc ninja. We roll stats, so I don't have any right now. However, I was leaning towards a strength build. Any opinions and thoughts on this are greatly welcomed. Is this a good idea? How can I make it work? Thanks
Hello ladies and gents Just need some advice on how to build a new character. Basic idea is that they are a half-orc who chooses to transform into animals and other creatures to destroy his enemies. Now I am not sure what would be better. Being a druid who transforms and has a companion to assist them, or a transmuter wizard or a sorcerer. Thanks in advance
So somewhere during the campaign something has gone terribly wrong with the level keeping/xp. The PCs have somehow only attained level eight by the end of Escape from old Korvosa. Anyone have any idea of what module that I could run that would bump them up to level 9 so that they at least have a fighting chance in the Cinderlands or rather before A History Of Ashes begins? Thanks
Hey guys just looking for a critique on my bard for an upcoming game. As far as I know there are only two of us playing, so I thought disabling device would be useful. Also, please note I am not optimizing him, just want him to be solid. All advice is welcome. I will be playing him like The Doctor/Indiana Jones. Half-Elf, male Bard (archeologist)
Feats: weapon finese, (probably use the extra rogue talents to take bonus feats to get the whip chain of feats, and add some archery feats as well) Traits: vagabond (bonus to disable device), one that give bonus to will save, and a third but I don't know what. So the idea is that he is an explorer and artifact hunter/liberator. Perception and DD will go up at alternate levels, same with knowledgeable, pick three or four per level and then pick another three or four the next level.
Just rolled up my stats for a potential bard or inquisitive. Before racial mods they are 17,9,14,11,13,13.
We are also only going to be able to get to level 12. Thanks for the help
Quick question to see how you guys would do this. Thinking of making an Oracle of Time, in the style of "The Doctor" (yes from Doctor Who). Half Elf or Elf I think. Stats I rolled: 14, 15, 17, 11, 12, 13. (in no specific order) If you can come up with a better class or race for "The Doctor" I am all ears. But I want to make sure that he can hit hard if he has to, but for the most part I want him mobile and aiding the rest of the party, with a dash of protecting the squishy targets. I eagerly await your thoughts
I challenge all of you ladies and Gents to come up with a stat block for Santa Clause. Keep it pretty basic, nothing too complicated. A friend of mine suggested. Ranger 10/Barbarian 10
That is just a start. More to come later, I hope.
Right now I am playing a Dwarven Pally of Torag. Fantastic when he is in combat, but after the last session i just realized that he is a bit under equipped to handle anything else, during one of the last fights he spent the entire fight struggling to stay afloat after the wharf he was on disappeared and another bad guy jumped on top of him. Since I was in full plate, swimming was difficult. Any tips on how to equip him so he doesn't have that problem again would be great.
I know there is a similar thread out there right now, so I will keep this brief. Currenty a 6th level paladin. I have about 22000 gp to spend in Riddleport. this is what I have so far:
I end up in the water a lot, and need to improve my ability to get around quicker especially at people who are far away, and improve my charisma or my strength. Thanks for the input.
Quick question.
I am looking into taking the Oath of vengeance for my Pally, however, I can't find the code of conduct. I have no problems making one up, such as
1) So, is there an actual code for this one like the others or was it left out intentionally? 2) What should be included in the code if I need to make one up? thanks
I am currently trying to improve my writing, in the grand hopes one day to do a book. I know I am not the first person to do or think this, as a book is a monumental task that involves a lot of your life.
Do any of you wonderful ladies and gents have any advice on this?
we as a group have house ruled that Criticals just multiply the damage dice on a weapon. It makes for drawn out fights but also makes us use our abilities in different ways. Keeping that in mind I am currently a paladin with a nodachi. we just reached third level and I am in need of some help choosing a feat. here is what I am thinking 1-Power Attack
Also I have the opportunity of getting an Adamantine Nodachi shortly. Any help on feat selection is greatly appreciated.
Just a quick poll I suppose. I am playing a paladin and was wonderng what weapon would be best. I have a toss up of a Great Axe, Great Sword or a Nodachi. I know that the greatsword and great Axe have the most damage potential, but the Nodachi has the brace quality and the higher crit range. What do you guys think? Is the higheer crit range more important? Or is it easily offset by the higher damage of the other two weapons?
Basic team is so far is oracle who can channel, a straight mage, Gunslinger, and a monk. My character concept is something in the likeness of Druss (David Gemmel). My real question is who would be better a Ranger or a Paladin. I know for the most part it is just personal preference. I am 50/50 either way. I think it would be nice to smite evil, but really is it necessary? we are doing the Second Darkness adventure path so who knows? I know that there are not any real melee characters in the party so we need a striker from what I can tell, the mage and the Gunslinger will have the ranged opponents screaming so Melee is the prime idea. Also I will be using a great axe no matter which class I pick, I can hear the groans of disapproval but then again, it is all about flavour for me. Some advice and personal insight from others is greatly welcomed. Thanks
Hello Ladys and Gents, just wondering if I can pick your brains for a good PC to play for Second Darkness. I would like to have good roleplaying possibilities and a decent fighter type. The group consists of a monk, oracle, mage, and figter (ranged). I am a bit torn between paladin, ranger, or a fighter. I guess I basically just want to have a valiant warrior type character. You know the first one in and last one out type of deal.
I look forward to your input.
P.S. I have already played a Paladin in 2E, and a Monk in 3E
Just looking for some advice. So far what is happening is that a Demon General of Baphomet's is trying to bring about Dragon Fall. Defeating Karzoug is basically just a primer for the end of it all. Though Karzoug is a tremendous threat I want the party to feel as if Karzoug is secondary only to this immenient threat of the destruction of the whole world as they know it. I see them finding commrades in some areas that they have visited, such as the Kodar moutains...in the guise of a good Half-fiend who also happens to be the general's half brother, who now rules over a group of misfits including outcast Dwarf's trying to regain their honor and half-orcs just trying to get by. There is also an entity known as Pathfinder who, with the help of Neutral Green and Blue dragons are trying to keep dragon fall from happening before its time. I envision Pathfinder as a druid esque type of entity and the Dragons that help him are there for extra support they basically try and keep things going the way they are suppose to and only interfer indirectly when something catastrophic could possibly happen. I am just asking if this seems like a good idea. Any suggestions/advice would be most welcome?
Thanks again in advance.
Hey guys, just wanted some feedback. I am currently GM of a group that is doing phenomenal. I am a first time GM and they are all experienced players and say I am doing a great job. Apparently being prepared is over looked by certain GMs. They are doing the Rise of the Runelords Adventure path and are really enjoying it. THey really like how it is a world they have not experienced before and they don't know everything about it. My situation is this...the player of the rogue in the party says that he doesn't feel like he can really play the character the way he wants to, he would like to do more thief type things and create his own thieves guild or possibly take up root in one and eventually take it over. I have no problems with this at all. I have the perfect out for him. I have few adventures lined up for him so far, but I want to make sure they are appropriate. He is about level 9. And he has even said that he wants the guild to think he is of lower level than he actually is so I would suspect they would send him on a less important mission to "prove" his worth to the guild. I was thinking of sending him through the "Flight of the Red Raven" and then on the way back have him shipwrecked on Smuggler's Shiv and have him go from there. I think he will be mostly on his own for the first part but may pick up an NPC ally along the way. Does this sound decent?
I am wondering what would you consider Dr. Who? Would he be a sorcerer, wizard, cleric? What would his focus be? I am trying to have a one on one adventure with a friend of mine and he will probably need some help, so I was thinking of throwing "Dr. Who" in there with him to help steer him the right way in certain situations or to add some plot hooks. I was thinking a Wizard (Transmuter, or Abjuration) JC Huber has not created a profile. |
