Celestra:
Dang, that nearly made me cry for real. I wish I could have kept both characters! I'm just far more attached to Bree, been playing her so much longer and more in depth.

ZZ and Celestra:
Since Alana won't be continuing in the campaign, I'd like to just say that before disappearing in the middle of the night, Alana wrote Celestra a letter telling her that it was time for her to go, the road was calling her but she didn't want to take Celestra away from so important of a journey as she was on. She cherished the time the spent together, and will never forget Celestra.

Alana casts Spectral Hand.
Temporary hit point loss for the spell 1d4 ⇒ 4
HP 46/50

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana should be acting the same time as Celestra, ZZ overlooked her improved initiative during the initiative roll, so this should take place prior to Harry's action.
From her ceiling perch, Alana says to the group, "Stay back," before releasing a Lightning Bolt into the opened room. Aiming at X13. A reflex check DC 17 for half damage.
Damage 8d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 5, 4, 3, 1, 1, 6) = 27

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Common, Elven, Draconic, Dwarven

With Alana's Improved Initiative she should be acting the same time as Celestra. If casting Enlarge Person on Harry while they were talking doesn't count as her first combat action, then:

R1
Alana casts Spider Climb and moves into position above Marek.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana has Improved Initiative, her initiative is a +6. Her first action was to move up to Harry and cast Enlarge Person while they were talking.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana makes her way forward so that she can reach Harry and casts Enlarge Person while the Ogres waste time chit chatting.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana falls to the back of the group as they make their way towards the where the conversation is coming from.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

"If it is destruction that they want."

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

"Indeed, my love. I should think that they must have someone keeping them together, working them towards a goal or nefarious design."

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana speaks up, "With many beasts, when there are but a few the problems are minimal but when too many nest together in one location they become increasingly aggressive. Perhaps it is something similar that is happening here with these ogres?"

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

"Quite impressive, indeed."

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

"Indeed, she seems to have him so far."

Well, that was probably too much of mumo-jumbo nonsense^^

Nah, it was just hilarious. Especially the "do it now, little human" bit.

Alana watches and listens from her spot, amused by the ingenuity of Alietha's plan and quite pleased to see it working so well.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8
DM Zyren/ Heart of Runes wrote:
Then we have a deal...we you can heal, than you can also give me power, do it now, little human.

This is far funnier to me than it probably should be.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana looks down at Celestra from her ceiling perch and returns her lover's smile, "Well, as much as I enjoy sharing, he'll be sad to know I'm not interested!"

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana casts Hideous Laughter on the ogre.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana casts spider climb and crawls up onto the ceiling, moving forward to a position where she will be able to cast at the ogre, ideally avoiding her allies.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana will move forward to just behind and to the side of Ailetha. She'll hold any other action at this point, as it seems likely the Ogre isn't going to make it through these attacks and she doesn't have a clear line of sight on him anyway. At least that I can tell from the current map.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Damn. She'll cast Flaming Sphere then, and move out of the way.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

RD 1

Alana casts Mage Armor on Karlan and then steps past him and out of his way (behind the staircase on the map), attempting to clear the way for the fighters.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Harry's mantra.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana nods to what the men have to say and casts Detect Magic as a way of giving it a cursory glance.

She smiles warmly at Celestra's encouragement.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

"... shall we check the cells individually?" Alana looks displeased by the notion, yet somehow still curious and willing.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Alana hardly needs a babysitter, and doubtfully does Celestra, to know when it is not appropriate to be focusing her attention on her lover ;) Perhaps she is distracted by Ailetha's need to attempt to oversee everything.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

"Sounds like a grand adventure!"

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

"My love you underestimate your self. You were doing quite well for yourself before meeting me, I am sure you could manage this and much harsher ones had you not met me. That is, of course, not to say that I am not overjoyed that I did find my way into your life. It was rather lucky that I happened to be in the right place at the right time!"

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana listens intently as Harry and Ailetha describe what they found. Nodding her head in thought. She awaits to hear what direction their sea sick leader will set for them next.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

"You are not alone in that, Marek. Although you do appear to be much drier for your attempt than I." she says with a reassuring smile.

She does her best to ignore the fisherman's discomfort, she's grown accustomed to having people respond poorly to her preferences in company. She stands her ground, staying close to Celestra, but avoids giving the man any further reason to be alarmed or become upset.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana smiles and pulls Celestra closer to her side before kissing her cheek.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana uses Detect Magic to find the rough location of Harry and Ailetha. She points out where they are to Celestra, "Perhaps you can say a prayer, or seek some favor from your god to help them along their way?"

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

How far down are they now, and would Detect Magic pick up on Ailetha's Bardic abilities?

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana wraps a comforting arm around Celestra's waist, "I am sure they will be fine, my love. Harry is a strong fighter, and Ailetha provides excellent support."

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

"My love, I think Harry is getting quite tired of a lot of things lately."

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana has a quizzical look on her face at first, but she quickly realizes her lovers attempt at flattery and smiles. Once she is able to speak she tells her, "No, it was much too dark. I saw no hints of magic before I got in the water."

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana is chilled to the bone and shivering as she takes the fisherman's hand to help pull herself aboard the ship. Her teeth chatter so she makes no attempt to answer the man's rhetorical question, but simply nods her head a bit in response.

HP 45/50

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Might have been best for Alana to stay aboard too, then. She has no swim skill.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Swim 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10 Oh noes!
Fort 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Was there nothing to be seen with Alana's Detect Magic?

Alana flushes momentarily, taken unexpectedly by Celestra's outpouring of praise and affection. "Oh, well thank you, my love."

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana smiles warmly and returns Celestra's kiss, gentle as a caress. "I do admit the I am a bit frightened, being away from solid land, but I would not dream of abandoning you mu love, nor the rest of the group. I have found myself in far more dangerous predicaments and have managed through, as I am sure I will for this, too. It is a silly thing, really, rather like a child being afraid of the dark, I suppose."

Alana allows her eyes to relax, and go slightly out of focus for a moment as she calls upon the arcane to give her eyes the ability to see an magics that are abound in the waters below. (She casts Detect Magic)

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana seems more on edge, and more apt to cling to Celestra's hand once they've left dry land. She whispers nervously to her lover, "I have never been much good at swimming. I do not know, I suppose I just never liked the idea of not being able to see the sky above me and feel the ground below me. What about you, my love, do you enjoy this sort of thing?"

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana follows the along, tossing a worried look back over her shoulder at the man who thinks setting trees afire is an appropriate way to signal his men.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

"Maybe you could make sure of it without, you know, actually killing the guy? He is trying to help, after all, in his own way?" The look on Alana's face is hopeful, trustful, and perhaps a bit naive.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana speaks quietly, quietly enough that Celestra sitting so close to her might be the only one to hear her, "Make sure that brute doesn't go around burning down trees."

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana looks absolutely appalled, her whole body tenses, and her voice sounds tight and constrained, "No, you must not set any trees on fire."

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana listens as both Harry and Ailetha take turns answering her question aimed at Karlan, her usual pleasant look on her face, but it is clear that she was truly asking what Karlan would have them do, and it is his answer that seems to satiate her curiosity.

Having had her answers, she turns to smile warmly at Celestra's presence, returning her lovers hand squeeze.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana sits quietly, smiling politely and sipping her drink. "What would you have these men do, Sir Karlan?"

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

Alana goes deathly quiet as they approach the site of so much death and suffering. She begins to tremble outwardly as the rage she feels inside sweeps through her inwardly. She squats down next to a fallen eagle, gently she reaches out and lets her fingertips caress the feathers. Alana looks up at the group, with fire in her eyes and steel in her quiet voice she says only, "This must be stopped." She remains quiet after that, following the group but looking determined.

Female Half-Elf/Human (Bloodline Fey) Sorceress/8

So can I take my level up now as a level in Druid? How would the magics work mixed together? Would I get to pick an animal companion?

About Aris'arial of Winter's Fall

Description:

Background:
Aris’arial spent the first twenty years of her life freezing with her elven mother in the alleyways of Kenebres. When Tanelara finally succumbed to the cold, Arisl’arial was still too young to really take care of herself, so after three days without food, she began knocking on doors. At the fifth door, she was greeted by a kindly-looking young woman, who took her in ‘just for the night’. Three weeks later, Selnar Oviaden began teaching the youngling elf the basics of magical theory. Aris was hooked instantly, and over the next sixty years, she eagerly devoured every bit of magical theory Selnar could teach her.

Aris fell into a funk when her adoptive mother passed away at nearly eighty-five, and quietly used her inheritance (and the money from selling Selnar’s old manor) to move to Ustalav. There, she joined the students of the University of Lepidstadt, where she poured her every waking hour into understanding magical theory. Her studies, using alchemy as a method of slowing the magical reactions, allowed her to begin to understand not just the overarching theories of magic, but also some of the underlying principles holding the grand theories up.
After a decade of study, the University realized that Arisl’arial never intended to graduate and removed her from the grounds. A bit put-out, but eager to see the brighter side of the situation, she began looking for more practical applications for her skills. A brief time journeying with a band of adventurers came to a quick end in the River Kingdom of Pitax without so much as a single opportunity to see danger. Instead, the other members of the party seemed content to use their inherited wealth to sit around taverns and invent heroic stories about themselves. Frustrated, Aris left and headed north, back toward home.

Back in Kenebres, Aris found herself put to work in the Crusade’s library there. True to form, she pored over every text she was handed, but found herself craving not only the stories of ancient crusaders, but to experience them herself. Still, there were so many books to manage, and there just never seemed to be time to enlist.

After years of working in the library, someone made passing reference to the marks on her face, and the phrase “Riftwardens” sparked a memory in Aris’s mind. Her adoptive mother, Selnar, had mentioned that name - her father must have been one, for certainly her mother wouldn’t have fit the image Aris had in her mind! With her newly-remembered pedigree of heroics driving her, Aris decided it was time to do her part for the Crusade!

Personality:
Aris’arial is bookish and quiet, a result of her studies and her careful disassociation with the human society she lives in. She was still a girl when her adoptive mother died, and she’s had a hard time forging a bond with the less long-lived races. She’s somewhat aloof and standoffish, trying to keep a professional distance from her fellow adventurers. Aris has a tendency to overplan and be caught off-guard when things don’t turn out the way they’re supposed to, but she’s learning to be flexible and abandon failed strategies. She worships Pharasma quite fervently, hoping that the Lady of Graves is taking care of both her mothers' souls.
Like many elves, Arislarial has the habit of providing only carefully-worded suggestions to her friends and allies, fearing to take control over their decisions. She’s also rarely found without her nose in a book, even when riding or exploring, and some people have told her she falls into a trance with a book on her lap. She denies that as ridiculous. She has very little sense of humor, and in many ways is the perfect ‘straight man’ for anyone looking to make a joke. Not only will she not understand innuendo or comedy, but she’s likely to overanalyze it when those around her start laughing.

Description:
Eyes: Icy-Blue, Hair: Gray-White, wavy, and cut at the shoulder blades, Skin: Eggshell white to lightly tanned, Height: 6”, Weight: 114 lbs, Age: 138

Tall and slim, Arisl’arial appears to be the embodiment of elven grace, mixed with the faint signs of a childhood spent sick and ill-nourished. Her limbs are almost dangerously thin, and without her clothes on, it’s easy to see ribs through her skin, a result of missing meals in favor of experimentation. In humans, her appearance would be that of an albino, but as an elf, her skin, eyes, and hair reflect the conditions of a street-birth in midwinter; her icy-blue eyes, eggshell-toned skin, and grey-white hair with just a hint of blue all call to mind the cold. Aside from a few blue tattoos below her left eye and at the center of her forehead, she prefers little adornment, including jewelry. She wears a thick brown cloak with a hood over a fur-lined crimson wool jacket, which she usually wears well into the summer. She keeps a leather-bound book strapped to her belt, in which are notes and sketches of her research.
