Getting out of his bonds, Akri turned to the first kuo-toa that he thought was on the bad side and let loose with his energy bolt.

As the group is trudged through the new area, Akri took a moment to look for a good spot to start attacking once free. He was mildly surprised to see that the Deep Father faction alreqdy had a prisoner, a grey dwarf because they really needed another surly bastard , but figured he was probably captured by some supplicant trying to not be added to the cooking pot. As his eyes turned back once again to the father-daughter pair, he was shocked to see, or rather not see, Harro. Taking that as his que, he slowly started to see if the bindings were truely loose, not trusting the kuo-toa that led them here.
"I really don't wanna get tied up once again," Akri grumbled under his breath as the others started to ask about the plan. "I just want this over with."
As they ate dinner, with one of the dishes causing his lips to tingle strangely yet not badly, Akri listened to the conversations around him. Giving a sigh as the rest were talked into joining the fishman's plan, he had to ask, "Why would you trust us to help you kill off your daughter? No offense, but we don't know you, you don't know us. Sure, the pay sounds good, yay heroics and all that, but we literally just met each other."
Honestly, all religions were odd to Akri. Always relying on some being in another dimension to help you out, how do you learn what you're capable of that way? But, to each their own. "Yeah, yeah, praise be to the fish woman," Akri muttered under his breath before facing their 'guide'. "All of this is awesome and great and stuff, but is there a place we can reast for the night before moving on?"
Quickly backing away from the sudden fight, Akri looked around in confusion. "Wait, what? What's going on?" he asked in confusion.
Walking along with the others, Akri just grumbled. "Yeah, well, if the cookin' pot is warmer than the welcome we'd get elsewhere, it might be worth it," he said, looking to the demon woman and her lackey. "Don't get me wrong, you'll prolly sleep your way to safety, but you'll be dining on me and the others. Wonder what spices would make me taste good?" The last part was said almost to himself.
As the others debated the merits of the upcoming town, Akri just thought of the real food and hopefully real beds they could get. "Let's just hurry up already. Live or die, we'll at least hopefully do it in comfort for a bit."
Mmkay, I admit I'm at a bit of an impasse. I'm not really sure what I want to do with this character, what his longterm goals and such should be. When I first made him, I just wanted to try out the kineticist class, and a munavri sounded cool to play. Any ideas?
As the others investigated the mushrooms and dead body, Akri wandered off to the side to see if he could find any evidence of people making trips back and forth.
"That's just nasty," Akri said with a wince as Tanic went around removing the leeches. "I really hope the magic mushrooms are worth it. Where to after this?"
"I'm sure if you ask nicely, someone'll carry you across to the land of magic shrooms," Akri said with a smirk towards the duergar.
As they settled down for the night, Akri felt the last of the strange potion leave him. "That was...odd," he muttered to himself before shaking his head. As he listened to the self-proclaimed prince tell stories about his childhood, he couldn't help but comment, "You was a wild one, huh?"
"See?!" Akri said as black tentacles raised up and hit two of their party. "I told ya -hic- told ya that nothin' good would be in there!" Then, people started backing away as Harro took a strange stance and held out his shiny new ring. "I think I'll...I'll just stand over here now..."
With the wet squishing noises coming from the pit, Akri doesn't try to look as he said, "Prolly some -hic- ooze fell down the hole. Hehe, in the hole. -hic- Seems to be a whole mess of those -hic- things here. "
Unused to effects like this, having only taken stolen sips from his parents before, Akri grinned like a loon. "Wow, just wow," he said, giving a strange giggle. "That feels, like, really good going down. Think we should try to take some of this stuff with us?"
Nice, didn't know about that. Will definitely be wishing for one of those.
As they wandered into yet another room instead of making their way further from their drow pursuers, Akri just sighed and followed along. And really, what was with these rooms? Why would someone make rooms magically connected like these? Just made no sense. Well, about as much sense as the grey dwarf suddenly dipping his finger into the possibly toxic liquid and giving it a taste. As he seemed to suffer no real harm from it, Akri suddenly found himself realizing how thirsty he was. Walking up to the pool, he dipped his hand in and drank a handful of the green stuff.
"Right," Akri said as the ooze explained about the room. "Anybody else wantin' to get out of here? This place is just a death trap waiting to spring on us."
For the whip, the enchantments you're thinking of are Deadly and Agile. As for me, other than the standard stat boosters, I'm not really sure what would be useful for a Kineticist. Don't use weapons, maybe a good set of light armor.
Following the others into the new room, and declining one of the torch stones (eyes were more suited to the dark, anyway), Akri looked around warily. "Glabba, you know if there are any oozes waiting to ambush us here?"
"Duergar don't part with much of anything easily," Akri muttered as he looked around the room once more. "So, anybody else wanna try to grab a floating stone? Or are we good on getting out?"
Seeing their attacks wearing the blob down, Akri yelled out encouragements to his allies before firing another orb of gravitic energy at the creature.
Seeing Tanic get himself out of the trap, and thankful that he himself didn't try all that hard to grab one of the floating stones, pour energy into his hands before flinging it out at the ooze.
As the others try to figure out the nature of the room, Akri just moved about kind of listlessly. Walking up to one of the statues with the glowing rocks, he reached out to grab the non-glowing clear spindle stone.
Akri was unsure about how this escape was going. Sure, he and the others were still alive, and not in shackles, so that was a point in their favor. But still, this was turning out almost like the stories his grandfather told about heroes... A strange wind blows... Giving a start, and unsure what he was just thinking, Akri took a look down the second passageway, just in case.
Seeing the oozes start to slowly...ooze their way towards them, Akri was quick off the bat. Gathering a swirling ball of energy in his hand, it flew out quickly, visible as only a swirling distortion in the air, before impacting violently.
Looking around the new room the group found themselves in, Akri found the ooze perched above the doorway. Continuing his search, now for a different exit, he asked, "Any good methods for getting rid of jelly? Other than with bread, of course."
"Right, follow the jelly man," Akri muttered quietly, his gaze avoiding looking at Vinexa. "What do you think these 'shinies' are that it mentioned? Hopefully something useful in this place."
Akri was dazed by the sudden lip attack from the half-succubus. "I...uh...wha...huh?" were the only things he could mutter before his brain restarted. "Uh, yeah, real, right..." Shaking his head to get himself back into the game, he looked around and noticed the others talking to the skeleton. "That thing gonna be a help to us?"
"What the hell?" Akri exclaimed as a voice sounded in his head. "A frakkin' talking jelly? First talking snails, now talking food. That's it, I hit my head or something out in the underdark and I'm just hallucinating. Are any of you people real?"
"I'll scout ahead with ya," Akri offered. "I'm stealthy enough to at least be quiet, and if you show me good markings to keep us from getting lost I can do that."
"Emphasis on long," Akri muttered. "Probably take a month to finish a sentence."
"Why would we want to talk to a snail?" Akri asked in confusion. "I mean, it's a giant bug, let's just squish it and move on."
If it was the robe it could be treated like a double weapon.
But which would be the weapon, the needles or the robe?
"I'm hungry," Akri told the bead, shrugging his shoulders as the others looked at him. "What? I am, and everybody else was talking to the magic bead."
Giving a sigh as they come across a place that might be a good resting spot, Akri walked over to the river and peered in. "These fish any good, Tanic?" he asked the druid. "Could really go for a bite to eat right now..."
"Can we please put the libido back into you pants, people?" Akri said in disgust. "We already got enough problems as it is. Let's just find some place to hole up for a little while and get some rest."
"Right, obviously," Akri said, not really looking at anybody in particular. "Grandda talked about critters in the cave tunnels, blinder than blind, that could find you no matter what you did."
With that settled, Akri followed behind Tanic, nervously keeping a lookout for any approaching drow or demons. Hopefully, just hopefully, things will turn out better now that they've left the slave pen. Of course, that wouldn't make much sense for his life. That was why he kept a few steps behind the druid. No sense in careless trust after all. "So, you ever been to this place before, the one we're gonna hole up in?"
"Look, we gotta go, people!" Akri said, his eyes looking upwards. "Let the kuo-toa get the guy and we make our escape. Otherwise those drow up there will be down here. I don't think we want that."
"Wait, there's something in the water?! Akri yelled as he heard Harro's screams. Rushing over to Micar, he helped pull on the rope, trying to get the drow woman out.
'Can't belive I'm doing this,' Akri thought before jumping off, trying to avoid the webs on the way down. "I HATE THIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSS" echoed as his body fell before landing with a resounding splash. Immediately making his way back to the surface, he looked around wildly to locate the others and made his way towards them.
Taking the gold as something that should help no matter where they end up, Akri glanced at Vinexa and said, "Well, at this point I'd even accept the help of a demon with delusions of grandeur, so put in a prayer for me. Now [i]let's go!"
Giving a small gulp and looking at the woman from the corner of his eye, Akri said, "Uh, right...sorry to hear that...?" Clearly, he wasnt sure what to make of her parentage. "So...who's Nocticula?"
Feeling useless in the chapel, Akri follows behind the succubus. "So, how did you get caught?" he asked quietly, his eyes peeled for incoming drow. Well, drow that wasn't part of their group.
Moving over to the fancy chest, Akri gives is a once over and can't help the greed shining in his eyes. "So, anybody good with locks? Can't help but think of all the nice stuff they might have locked up." |
