Really sorry folks but I seem to have come down with some sort of fever and I am really struggling. I am not keen on leaving the game as I think its been great so far, and we already lost someone, but I am just too addled to get anything cogent together post wise, but on the other hand I am struggling a bit with the format, and do not feel I am doing it justice - I am hoping this will not be the case under normal circumstances, but there is a chance I am kidding myself.
So I probably will not post tomorrow, or maybe for a couple of days depending on how I am feeling - kinda all over the place fine one minute and then teeth chattering curled up in a ball aching like crazy the next. I would totally understand if Fabian or the group feel it is appropriate for me to leave, but I hope and believe in my normal circumstances I would be able to contribute decently, despite the evidence of the last week or so. Please GMPC Akosua as appropriate.
I cannot help but think Chibi Buffy - because I am that lame ;)
Akosua retrieved her trident nodding to Zelkja, "A fine shot, I was worried for a brief time there!"
While the others examiend the tower Akosua looked out of the lands around it scanning for likely places she might try to collect Heri's herbs later. Once she finished surveying their surrounds she cast a detect magic spell scanning the room, and their new halfling companion not really expecting to find anything.
Basically just hoping I can speed up herb gathering later by getting a good idea of the likliest terrain around the fort.
Akosua stared straight up unslinging her shield and freeing her longspear, waiting for a chance to strike, another player? is that thing a boggard?
To be clear spending 2 move actions to unsling shield and draw longspear.
Akosua staggered staring at the shaft in her chest and swaying on her feet for a moment before steeling herself dropping her trident and chanting a spell. The faint glow of healing magic upon her hand she ripped clear the shaft forcing her palm against the wound and restoring her flesh,
"Well this one is not so friendly."
Restored the bonuwat advanced to the base of the structure shield raised over her head.

"We have found two of your people dead, let us hope the others went into hiding... But I would prepare for the worst," Akosua said, her tone sympathetic, but firm.
"Once we have finished our search we will help you deal with their bodies by the customs of your people, but for the moment let us seek out any immediate dangers."
How many halfling bodies have we seen, the two from the haunt any others?
Oh he is speaking Polyglot? Akosua speaks that, sorry I was guessing a halfling dialect.
Thinking she, more or less, had a handle on the halfling's dialect Akosua switched to clearly annunciated polyglot,
"We have seen no sign of an elder, but if she does come please let her know we are not enemies quickly - I would not want blood spilled over a misunderstanding. Are you hurt in the body at all? I can help if you are..." she paused, "Also have you encountered any "Gozreh" worshippers recently?"
Once their conversation came to an end Akosua smiled at Zeljka, "Perhaps I might take the lead for a time, you seem to have been taking the brunt for a while - along with Nsizi - He Who Must Taste Good."
She gave Muhdzuzi reassuring smile and lead the way to the upper level, provided Zelkja had no objections.
"Will you ask him what he wishes done Nsizi? Best if he will accompany us to clear his people name I think. I am hoping this was a small party of his tribe, I assume the whole is much larger?" Akosua said frowning while she kept her body language calm and friendly.
The Bonuwat cleric watched Nsizi nodding approval and moved forward setting her trident down, casting a brief spell of guidance and saying,
"Nsizi is right," before gesturing to herself, "I am Akosua, a healer. We mean you no harm and seek only answers. I am sorry, but we have found none of your people living and a number dead, let us hope some escaped. Please will you tell us what happened as best you can?"
At Min's question Akosua nodded acknowledging the point, "I am surprised, I had thought them isolated tribes, but perhaps that is not so true."

Akosua set her stance wide, said a brief prayer for guidance, and grew taking hold of the door and heaving with all of her might, unfortunately her grip slipped and she went flying over backwards to land in an undignified heap and shrink back down,
"Well I suppose if one is to be a fool they might as well be a giant fool!" She declared smiling ruefully as she rose, dwindling back down to size, and rubbing her posterior before she moved back to assist in more mundane fashion.

Very nearly done with my larger than usual work load and my new game is under way, so hopefully things will get easier.
Akosua had made her way cautiously over the plank, swaying and inching along, a little better than Zelkja, but hardly enjoying the experience, never having been one who was able to dance about the rigging.
Once in the tower, after listening to Min's assessment of the books she plucked one from the pile tucking it away for later, knowing her own taste for melodramatic easy to devour adventure fiction. I have known long since my taste for fiction leans towards cheap and cheerful, and my sisters are not here to mock me for it.
She examined the corpse and note with care, calling upon her goddess for guidance, but still failing to uncover anything of note, her talents leaning towards sickness rather than injury.
"I would say this note does not help us, still seems likely to be part of a ploy. In truth I am surprised either tribe have writing, I thought their interaction with Pridon's Hearth so small they would have no need for or it, nor the chance to pick it up."

Akosua shook her head, "I do not think so, I can perform blessings, but they are short of life. Magics that would make a place sacred, or call it back from taint are beyond what my goddess has been able to bestow upon my small vessel so far."

Sorry again folks, had much more on than I was expecting this weekend, and had to start up a game I had been recruiting for. I must admit I am finding the format a little challenging, mostly because of having to go through so much to post and being rather sleep deprived at the moment because of project deadlines - though I should be back to a less pressing schedule on Tuesday all being well.
Will: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 2 = 13 +2 if charm or compulsion, assuming it is a compulsion.
Seeing the tiny corpses Akosua's heart twisted in her chest, she felt herself compelled to move to them and to take their pain upon herself, even as she realized these were no true children. The alien nature of their chanting seemed to draw her in its jarring sibilance somehow soothing her natural fears and drawing her in. But as she clasped a bloodied arrow her birthmark warmed her, as if someone had gently caressed her flesh and she halted releasing her grip and stepping back breathing heavily kissing her fingertips and gently touching them to the leaf shaped mark over her eye.
"What was that? I share your instinct Zelkja, but if we leave it be this place will likely claim more through the years. We should at least pluck all the bolts from these bodies."
Then she called upon the power of her goddess, as much for the comfort of it as to heal her companions wounds. Then she stepped forward and steeling herself began to pluck the arrow shafts from the bodies breaking each in turn. That done she shook her head and moved to follow Zeljka.

Sorry to hear that Alleria, hope things ease up a bit, but I know how that life thing has a frustrating habit of infringing upon internet hobbies ;)
I think we can manage well enough, maybe pick someone up at a more natural point. I think most of the gamers I would recommend probably have overfull dockets at the moment. We probably do not need a fifth, but good to have for redundancy.
Akosua's head whipped around at Min's words of warning and she twisted stabbing down an impaling the centipede with all three prong of her trident,

Akosua removed the map with care before carefully folding it and wrapping it inside her bedroll to protect it from the damp. This has the feel of what I am seeking, something is stirring up the local tribes; Perhaps it is that something I am looking for?
"I have promised to gather herbs for Hero to, so once we are done here I must do so, I do not think it will take overly long."
Akosua's brow wrinkled in thought as she considered the implications, "Could one tribe be trying to set Pridon's Hearth against the other? No, this does not make sense... But maybe? The Song'o's presence was much more obvious, perhaps these lizardfolk seek to frame them? But there were halfling foot prints to... Yes we must have more information."
Is it possible to take the map on the wall, or is it too large for that to be practical?
Heal check 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 LOL not Akosuas' strong suit apparently!
I note both Alleria and Zelkja seem to have rope.
"I do not like to seem callous, but does anyone have any ideas for retrieving these items from the well? They may provide a clue, and I have few objections to wealth - in moderation."
Having listened to the others observations on the claws she asked, "If these claw marks are small I would guess they belong to the halflings. There are many paths to corruption which twist the body, and I recall hearing these Song'o are cannibals..."
"I have my fishing tackle if we can find a light weight pouch or some such and pierce it to let the water seive through we might be able to scoop up the contents - though it would be a long frustrating task. I might be able to snare a hook on the bandolier..."
She pulled her tackle box from her pack, selecting a couple of lengths of line and twining them together for strength before attaching a hook and attempting to snag the bandolier with patient movements.

Akosua advanced upon the corpses and bent over to examine them in detail, but in truth she had little experience in dealing with the dead - those corpses she had encountered generally having all too explicable causes of death and being swiftly delivered to the sea - and could make out nothing of use.
"I doubt we would find beasts of burden for a cart here - alive at leat. I suggest we take a few mementos for their loved ones and let the animals pick their bones clean, it is not a desecration only nature. A corpse is only an empty vessel, they have gone to their gods. Though if we find a place to rest and you are determined perhaps you can bury them while I try to tend to Nsizi."

I'm afraid that is not the case by the normal rules, poison is so expensive that if you are just allowed to extract it from creatures it has a good chance of breaking wealth per level. My rational is that poison needs to be prepared to coat a weapon. The list in the poison use rules includes many poisons that would be extracted from creatures so they did not just forget about those. Looking at other poisons this one would likely be valued at around 200gp per dose, once you extrapolate that over every spider, demon, etc., it can add up very quickly.
A reasonable compromise might be to let PCs have the crafting cost for free if they can extract the poison, but sadly the crafting rules are so terrible for anything over a few gp it would take weeks by the book.
Making poisons requires craft alchemy and follows the standard craft rules meaning it is not really viable in play without the alchemists swift alchemy and poison use abilities. Zelkja is highly likely to poison herself and it would take weeks by the craft rules - which are rubbish. I sometime allow players to dose a weapon and allow it to last 1d10 x 10 minutes, if they can make a heal check to identify the poison sac - this prevents them being able to sell the poison or save it - generally only for medium or larger creatures though, and very much a house rule. My reasoning is that poisons are rather over priced and can wreak havoc on wealth per level if sold, or if saved for the perfect for. Characters without the poison use ability would also risk poisoning themselves while doing this of course. Not a rule I use any more either because at higher levels it is probably a bit too good for a freebie ability.

Ensuring that the nearby lizard creatures were truly slain with quick trident thrusts Akosua moves to Nsizi's side summoning the power of her goddess and the now familiar wave of natural scents. Once she was done she examined Nsizi for injuries again,
"Is that sufficient Nsizi? You do not look well, poison perhaps? I think so. If that is the case, I cannot help you quickly, rest is needed to recover, and I may be able to speed recovery then, but this does not seem the time or place..."
She pushed her anger at the fleeing creatures death down, it is a small matter, it makes as much sense to slay such a creature, though perhaps it could have passed on its new found wariness.

Irked Akosua snapped, "Do not say I did not warn you."
Then she stepped back to her right and called, "Re e'fwo' N'K! As she cast a spell seeking to fill the closest uninjured lizard creature with fear. Better to have one flee rather than die, these things should learn fear of humans it will serve them well.
Akosua is essentially trying to frighten the dinos off, but it probably does not strictly work in PF since I think it officially takes 1 minute to make the kind of intimidate check she is going for, and she can only actually speak with them for 4 rounds. I think it makes "real world" sense, and I could not justify her not trying it.
Splintered wood embedded in her flesh, and the telling ache of a great an painful bruise across her chest and shoulder Akosua gritted her teeth and rose, waving off Zelkja's words,
"Let me channel my goddess, then tell me how you feel," she called forth the gentle power of Shimye-Magalla the wave if fresh natural scents spilling over the group and healing restoring both Zelkja and Akosua to full health.

Still having a devil of a time with the site, sorry for the delay been trying to post for the last 4 hours amidst doing my own GM stuff.
Akosua nodded to the children, casually pulling faces at the younger ones when no adults seemed to be looking her way. She strode to the center of the welcoming group and called up the power of her manyfold goddess, it will do them good even if they are not injured, and hard working people often carry niggling injuries sending out an invisible wave of fresh ocean breezes and the soft scent of dew dappled flowers that washed away minor aches, pains, cuts, and bruises.
"Thank you for offering us your home for the night. I am Akosua a healer, by the blessings of Shimye-Magalla, so if any of you, or your animals have an injury I would gladly offer to heal it, provided it is within my abilities."
Once the introductions have been made she, took the mother aside for a quick word, then beckoned over the smallest girl asking, "How would you like some magic to make you bigger than your sisters? But only for a minute, and it only last while you are good."
When the girl nodded wide eyed affirmation she chanted, "Tna h'pele E-zis!" Smiling as the child grew to near adult size and raced off to show her sisters her new found stature.

The following morning Akosua prayed, a more informal comfortable process than for most Clerics, and more a matter of drinking in the beauty of the natural world around her than the po faced piety she had seen in those who followed other gods.
Bidding the children goodbye had sent a pang through her soul she had thought long past, and she was quiet for the rest of the journey contemplating old wounds. If anything the rain was a comfort a link to the more accustomed waters that had always been her true home.
Once they reached the Fort Akosua tightened her focus, "I will follow behind you Zeljka, if need arises I can grow and strike over your head - if the space is not too tight."
I say stay at the farm to, Akosua is probably a rise and rest with the sun type.
The site seems to be undergoing maintenance today, I have lost several posts to it simply not loading - before realizing my Lazerus plug-in was disabled for some reason to - so it is possible folks are struggling with the site.
"I would prefer to leave today, they may need help, or we may find the need to seek out signs of what has happened at the Fort, if the worst has, and in either case a day could make a large difference. A little rain never hurt anyone, and we have no guarantee it will be dry tomorrow."
We do not seem to be especially pushed for time so I don't think a few hours will make much difference.
Having examined the herbs in detail and ensured she could pick them out, as well an inquired about the most suitable spots to find them Akosua nodded, "I think this shall not be a problem Heri, we will get your herbs. Do you have anything you might advise us to take into the Jungle, perhaps something to ward off Malaria?"
After
When they returned Akosua raised a hand in greeting to the rest of her new companions, I am glad women out number men, they will not risk anything with such a balance.
"Heri merely wished for us to pick some herbs for her, which grow near the Fort. Myself and Nsizi here have seen all of them so identifying them should not be a problem, and I am used to gathering plants. What of the other requests?"
Hmmm, yes it should be, et tu Herolab! So 9/day I'll edit.
Fabian Benavente wrote: Akosua: your feats are: extra channel and channeling force and your channel energy is 7/day (your PC sheet shows them correct in some places and different in others); no other comments Feats are Extra Channel and Extra Channel again, I did not qualify for Channeling Force as I did not have access to any Force spells. Akosua looked over the list, in her long study of herb lore she was more familiar with the plants of the sea, but most of the list seemed familiar, "Is this also know as Mung Root? I think I recall the name being applied? Can you describe the leaves of this, I have only seen it in dried form so I am no sure I would recognize it well fresh. Otherwise there should be no problem."
Just going to take 10 on Profession Herbalist across the list.

"I believe it is safe, it seems banking is an important part of their faith, and it is easier for a mishap to befall a small group rather than a large one - though there are few absolutes in life," Akosua replied to Nsizi, as she glanced about suspiciously.
"For the moment we would wish to exchange this bill or writ for smaller ones. Probably the smallest ones you are able to provide given we must split and make change from this - and are told merchants may not be able to do so?"

Akosua enjoyed the rain revelling in it and turning her face up into it frequently, she had always felt at home in the water and longed for the day her goddess would gift her the power to swim beneath the waves like some of her relatives.
She looked over the poultices on offer with interest asking before responding to the strange halfling, "We are, I am Akosua a student herbalist. As well as the greater matter of Nsizi's tribes suffering we have agreed to visit the Fort to check on things, and the Sheriff informed us you might have something you wish of us given we are heading that way? And what is this special medicine, an intoxicant, or the bark of this famous tree you are rumoured to have discovered?" There was no judgement in her tone at the last only keen interest.
Akosua pulled a sour face at Minercuria's response, "You would not say such things if you have been forced to spend most of your girlhood studying scrolls, being lectured by an ancient parrot that is smarter than most men and being forced to attempt to commune with every animal that gets within a mile. Learning from a book, or from communing with a familiar seems a small enough distinction, but I never did have a grasp for such things."
The majority of Witches probably match Wizards of equivalent level in spellcraft and knowledge arcana I should think, though it is certainly true a Witch teaching would be a different experience. I figure that Akosua's family basically try to force all of the girls to become Witches through the tutelage of the elder witches parrot familiars, rituals, and the provision and proximity of potential familiars.
Akosua nodded examining the writ before placing it on the table, "Enough for me. Perhaps we should all visit the Bank together first to have this split into smaller shares?"
She threw back the last of her wine and rose, the yellow papaya flowers tumbling about her at the sudden motion and stepped back from the table with a nod and smile to the Sheriff.

Akosua was surprised by the Wizard, Min's, words, having always thought of those drawn to the studious magics as fiercely driven individuals I am viewing things through a veil of my own experience, my kin are hardly typical, and are less bookish than Wizards, I should not be surprised.
"Many of my family are Witches, similar in many ways to Wizards, none make a living by teaching, they are weather weavers on ships, crafters of magical items, or in one case a "Pathfinder" - most are healers to, though I do not think that applies to Wizardy? As for myself I am more concerned with who I am than what I do, the first determines the second I find."

The Priestess nodded slowly, "Then perhaps we can visit these places and meet back here for a meal before we set out? It seems visiting Heri can be brought forward for myself and Nsizi, so we may as well steer with the wind. If you, Min, and perhaps Zeljka, are willing to pay a visit to this Oyin Emporium we can speak with all those wishing an errand."
She turned back to the Sheriff and asked, "May we take the coin for expenses now? It seems we might make purchases from the places we will visit and be ready the sooner."

Akosua followed had followed along contemplating her course, I will have need of allies, so any good will I can gather will not be wasted. The best way to find my quarry is likely by seeking trouble and following it down to the root.
She nodded to the halfling, "A pleasure Jonas - Jonas, Jonas - I will remember. To your questions I am not sure I know the answers yet, may I get back to you later? If there are rooms available later on I may wish one. But for now I will take some of this Plum Wine if I may."
Sitting back sipping her Plum Wine, finding it a little too sweet for her taste, Akosua listened, casting a brief spell to guide her ear. She let the conversation lap over her seeking anything that might leap out while contemplating her new companions as unobtrusively as she could.

Having already decided to accept any task she did not find distasteful Akosua let the others ask their questions taking in and chewing over the responses. Lizardmen, Boggards, and Halflings? Could such creatures be behind the perverted worship of Gozreh? It is not beyond the possible.
"I accept the task," looking to the others at the table she asked, "do any of you have reason to wait? I would prefer to set off today if we may. Perhaps we might visit this halfling healer together once our task is completed Nsizi? I am curious, and have a small skill with herbs, I do not know that I could be of assistance, but I should like to be."
Tag Nsizi, and everyone.
Hearing Min's words Akosua shook her head while scrunching her eyes tightly closed, "Ah, no, no. I am impressed with those who can undertake such studies, but they have always made my head hurt. Teaching is an admirable thing though, even if I was never an able student. But as a former small girl who could not learn the arcane arts, despite much skilled teaching I ask you to remember patience - my schooling was not a pleasant time."

Frustrated Akosua exhaled loudly, "You must judge and I must judge, and they must judge and some of us will be wrong, but the world can never be perfect. Thinking in absolutes is, usually, foolish. And grief does not excuse assaulting a man, I have lost those I cherish, but were I to lash out I would still be responsible. Grief is a burden not an excuse."

Min
Akosua shook her head, "Politeness and decency are two separate things that should not be confused. And rudeness often goes hand in hand with a show of strength, it is only another tool. Crude men will often take a lack of a response as capitulation. Like most things there is no always right and no always wrong, a clever or catchy slur may turn a crowd against a demagogue, or a brash insult might insight a crowd to violence. And why is the goal civilization? I would call that a means to the goal of happiness, and one that is often misguided, too many make the mistake of valuing the ship over the passengers."
Alleria
To Alleria she replied, "I am Akosua, a pleasure I am sure."
Nsizi
When Nsizi approached her face tightened and she frowned, until she processed his words, "I did not mention a sickness as such, but such a thing could be what I am looking for. I speak with the animals and they have told me that someone is perverting my faith, causing a sickness would be a perversion, though I cannot see what its purpose might be. Perhaps we should speak with this Heri and see if our interests align, besides I should like to help if I can illness can be a terrible thing, especially when it afflicts the young ones."
Akosua looked the woman over and made a circular gesture with her hand, as if seeking the right words,
"It is so that with rough men an insult, well told, can serve to win respect and prick egos. It is hard to play the leader when your men laugh at you. Also in times when civility fails a good insult is most satisfying. Any man moved to attack someone for a simple insult deserves to face the consequences, I will be no meek little woman for such creatures - a better cure is to demonstrate the consequences of such behaviour and discourage more of the same."
Tag Alleria and Minercuria.
Akosua nodded resignedly, "In truth I did not expect it to be so easy, but you do not get what you do not ask for. May I ask then of your troubles? Did those men have a reason for their shameful behaviour?"
Once Adaela has replied.
Tag Alleria
Akosua turned back towards the young woman who had shouted and called, "That was a good insult, would you mind if I steal it? I am called Akosua, I have seen you on the ship, what is your name?"
Akosua quirked a thick black eyebrow at the Sheriff, her ingrained Bloodcove prejudices towards lawmen fighting her approval of a woman in a position of power. She smiled warmly and dipped her head deferentially, sending the yellow papaya flowers tied into her long flowing hair swinging.
"A pleasure to meet you Adaela, Adaela, Adela - I will remember. I am Akosua a Priestess of The One Who Rules Wind and Wave. I have come seeking rumours of people perverting the worship of "Gozreh", with the intent of finding the truth and delivering judgement. Would you know anything of such a thing? It is possible they are the root of your troubles to a sickness of root may ail the whole tree; but also possible they are far beyond this place, my sources were... Unreliable."
Akosua scowled at the foolish men, ever posturing self centred sons of goats. Looking down at the Lordling she hissed,
"Go away Viscount of Mangoes, I would not start our time here with bloodshed if I can help it."
Then calling upon the power of her goddess, she chanted, "Mezenharioth tarthor Narlam Shim!" Levelling a finger at the man holding the broken bottle and calling forth fear to battle his alcohol induced bluster.

Seeing a man slug Little Lord Papaya did not displease Akosua, but she could not allow any more, it seemed unlikely the man had anything that amounted to a real justification although perhaps the Lordling has already purchased his land and ruffled some feathers?
"Who the hells do you think you are striking a man off the boat! Am I free to do the same? I have a trident opening the exciting possibility of skewering both your papaya and mangoes... Now back off!"
