![]() This is Adrien, though an old concept, I've completely revamped him to fit your guidelines. The one thing that should quickly catch your attention is that he's Aasimar, but that is completely explained and justified in his backstory, so let me know what you think. Due to prices of armor in CR and APG, I've selected some armor from UC. If that's not okay, I can select something standard, though his AC will suffer for it. His backstory is pretty long, but if you have the time I think it's a good read. As for his ability, he is a combat focused fighter who specializes in defense. Depending on the dynamic of the party and his experiences, he can level to become a superior tank, or a superior damage dealer. Regardless, he will be able to accomplish both tasks fairly well. Additionally, as a very important part of his personality and backstory (where optimization meets flavor), he is a trained diplomat. He could easily serve as the party face, or simply be used in social situations to accomplish tasks. ![]()
![]() This is Adrien. I made him a while back to play in a campaign that died in the middle of the first combat session. All of your questions are already answered in his backstory. I am a dedicated player and would make a consistent addition to your game. I think there are a couple of very minor kinks that would need to be settled (removal of traits, adding 5 build points, adjustment of skills, possible revision of gear). I look forward to answering any specific questions you might have. Question: Why have you chosen to run this game without traits? My character build is heavily intertwined with Diplomacy. Would it be possible to take Diplomacy as a class skill, without the +1 trait bonus? The character was originally a cavalier, but I swapped him into a fighter because it fit his combat style better. ![]()
![]() Hey guys, sorry it's been a few days. I'm super busy with school and my other DMing commitment here on the boards. I'm down to continue posting as a player each day, but I'm going to need someone else to take the lead on the DMing part here. I can also put time into developing and managing more maps as necessary! ![]()
![]() Alright, c'est fini. I'll get to figuring out what's going on and how all of the declared actions so far play out in the morning. The way the map works is like this: All of the images are "Grouped". This means that you'll have to click your token once or twice to get it to move and function independently (don't worry, it will still act as grouped when un-selected). The purpose of this is to make sure that if the map gets moved by accident, it won't screw the whole thing up. Please be very careful with the map, as it could obviously all go to shiz with one mistake. Remember to use ctrl-z if you make a big mistake. I'll try to keep a running copy so that we don't lose everything. When taking your turn, please move your token to the desired spot, and declare your move in the chat: "I move from E15 to F19 and attack" This way we'll be able to retrace your steps if necessary. Feel free to engage the environment (step on tables to gain height advantage, flip them over for cover, throw a mug if your buy a table etc...) Token Color Code: Purple - Party Member
I'll do my best to adhere to "Rysil's Rules of Aggro". As for how combat will play out, I will be controlling all of the NPC's. They will run and take turns in groups as follows: Group 1
I will determine where these clumps fall in the initiative chain. This will make my life easier, because I won't have to check in every two seconds. Let me know if you have any questions comments and suggestions.

![]() Okay, so huge apology on my end here. I missed one of the spoilers from one of Rysil's old messages that got buried before I saw it. I'm going to work to get this show on the road. I want us to make Rysil proud by at least finishing the combat! Haha. I'll be working on it for the next little while and will have my updates posted up. Zelaria, if you wanna take point on this one you're welcome, but let me know soon because I'm going gung ho! In any case, I can take over DM'ing for now, as there are plenty of tanks in the party, and let Rysil resume when he's ready. Any objections, ideas, suggestions? ![]()
![]() Hey all, I've gotta say, I've had fun this holiday with my whole family in town, but I just hope things pick up next week. @Noro I'm a bit confused why you played just a couple of Goblins. It seems like it would be a lot easier if we just let Rysil handle GMing (I'm aware he mentioned us helping, my suggestion below). @Rysil
1. Play all of the NPCs/Monsters at the same time. This will allow you to just play one big turn without having to dip in constantly to play all those turns. I think it will help combat move faster. While this isn't consistent with the table-top format in most cases, it will expedite and increase flow given the circumstances. 2. Write and format all of your posts in notepad or Word before copy/pasting them into the website. This will allow for quicker easier formatting, and it will remove the possibility of losing anything. @Talon I agree. I think if someone misses a full day, their turn should be played for them, though we'll need input from Rysil on this one. I'm not about force-pushing this campaign forward, but I am very excited about it and I think we've got a lot of cool team members that will make this campaign a memorable one! ![]()

![]() RYSIL! Well, while we're at it.... "Ladies ladies ladies.... Jay and Silent Bob are in the hizzoussssse!" Oh and: "In a world gone mad, we will not spank the monkey, but the monkey will spank us." Jay is my roll model... or was back in highschool anyway. Relieved to have you back Rysil! Depression was beginning to set it, but you have saved us from darkness. I've got no problem waiting until things settle down! ![]()
![]() The way I see it, I'd like to have our relationships develop in game through encounters that have some relevance, but I'm down to try it out if the majority does. I'm personally leaning toward revisiting the discussion on Friday/Saturday (1 week from Rysil's last post), and weighing our options at that point. ![]()

![]() RYSIL! How's life treatin' ya Ryslil? And don't say "he caught me in bed with his wife" @Noro Sounds like a rough day! Hopefully we can get more input from Rysil on this one Took me a few minutes to realize I had to click "download" to get the high res. image. Anyway, so are we supposed to roll for initiative? A humble suggestion, Rysil. Maybe you could just copy and save an initiative roller for the whole team, that you update when we level up. Just past and submit, and then go back and edit the post to reflect the rolled order. This way it saves an entire wave of rolls. I'll take a minute and make it. ![]()
![]() GM Rysil wrote: Oh and Adrien, I knew it was a mistake to let an Assimar in the group Darkvision and Daylight. It's like my worst low level nightmare. *Sniffle, I'm not trying to break your game! You just happened to play right into my strength. At first I thought you were trying to make me shine or something. Either way, this can still be played as low light right now (assuming the reason the light went two steps down to completely dark was because the lanterns and/or candles went out too.) ![]()
![]() Rysil:
Darkness This spell causes an object to radiate darkness out to a 20-foot radius. This darkness causes the illumination level in the area to drop one step, from bright light to normal light, from normal light to dim light, or from dim light to darkness. This spell has no effect in an area that is already dark. Creatures with light vulnerability or sensitivity take no penalties in normal light. All creatures gain concealment (20% miss chance) in dim light. All creatures gain total concealment (50% miss chance) in darkness. Creatures with darkvision can see in an area of dim light or darkness without penalty. Nonmagical sources of light, such as torches and lanterns, do not increase the light level in an area of darkness.Magical light sources only increase the light level in an area if they are of a higher spell level than darkness.
If this works, Adrien will cast daylight on his shield and run to the bar, blocking the creatures from as many people as possible. ![]()
![]() Adrien tries but can't quite shake off the buzz.

![]() Adrien looks Zelaria in the eye with a warm smile. His elevated eyebrows show renewed sense of enjoyment since he realized he'd had one too many ale's. Most would just be getting started after a couple of mugs, but Adrien is not willing to leave his actions to chance in a social setting, and couldn't forgive himself if he let someone down because he was drunk.
