I will forever bring 3cp chickens instead of trail rations in all adventures hereafter. Possibly even in the Star Wars game....
Yeah, Steve, a comparison is like, what if you and some friends suddenly met up with a Police officer to check out a crime scene or something. You would mind your manners, be polite, not speak out of turn, not be overtly jerkish or assholish, because you were near a cop. Paladins of old are like that. So everyone else would likely be on their best behavior around you, and if they werent then that would be your opportunity to let them know.

Okay, a few things: 1: I am not committed to the avatar for Kheycear; I have precious few minutes to get on today and I wanted to respond to the initial post directed at me, so I focused on the important stuff. I would love some recommendations, as a silver dragonborn is a somewhat difficult thing to find in the paizo avatars. 2: Probably no need to set all the statistical stuff for Kheycear as we will not be playing these characters in pbp, quiaff? 3: I am very excited to read the posts that Chris put together for the recap. I have a job fair today and a date with my wife after work, but I have tomorrow off so I should have plenty of time to get read up. 4: Even this short amount of time in pbp makes me really want to do it again. (In my defense, the posting delay was my own confusion on the proper procedure for "dotting" and the assumption that Damien would not do this while in AUS, and I had every intention of posting after the World Series game last night, but my wifey had other plans for me. <tee hee!> and although I love you all, well, lets just say I would have a lot more time to game if I chose to post over her.)

Now we just have to summarize the 7 disparate adventures and 2 levels we gained at GenCon! That, my friends, will be a series of posts to apologize for!
Yeah, I'm having trouble finding Caerador's voice... I have a great handle on his back story, but its not one that I have shared with all of you very much yet. My main issue so far is that I am not very useful and that, as you said, I don't feel like Caerador is really a part of the team chemistry. I need to flesh out the reason he left his backstory and became a Pathfinder, and I need to get some connections for his motivations to stay. I got a cool idea from Steve on how I can connect Caerador to Arimar; I will be discussing this with you Damien soon. That combined with some personal issues I have going on has made me a bad pbp companion so far. I'll work on both.
So, Caerador Grimualt is introduced! I did a general backstory post, but I would like to partner up with you guys to figure out exactly when I become part of the party and tie my story in with the existing one. I also would love some advice on gearing this character; I have finished making him but I haven't spent his initial allotment of GP yet. He is an Expert (scholar) 1 / Arcanist 4 with a focus on cold-based evocation and mind-affecting spells. I'm sure a wand or two makes sense, but as for other ideas I could use them. Once I gear him up, I will lay out all of his stats in the format Steve taught me for PFS pbp and then I think I will be ready to rock.
Okay, I think I am mostly caught up. A simple backstory just won't do in this group, so I have been putting thought to it for the past 4 or 5 days. I have mostly finished my character and with some free time this evening I hope to have my first backstory post. I gotta say I LOVE the attention you have all put to breathing life into your characters! I am very interested in their individual stories just as a passive reader; it will be very fun to participate and help shape their futures! Okay, back to work for me.
Congrats on getting the Hellforge Slag published, Steve! I know from playing covers for money that whenever I write a good song, it feels nice to give back to the art that I draw so much enjoyment from. Now you have done that for the RPG community!
Steve, love the Hellforge Slag! I'm no expert like the panel that critiqued them, but an idea I had that might work with them is if they came in size varieties like elementals with increasing CR and if they had a special ability to combine into a single larger version or to separate into smaller versions. I know that would be a lot more work with multiple stat blocks from Small to Huge or whatever, but as living slag I could easily see it being possible.
Steve, is that a curling pic from the archives, or are you still driving up to Lewiston to curl, and if you are, I'm mad that you are not stopping by to say hi when you do!

Hello all, I'm PapaSteve's friend Aaron. I also play as Glarifyur with some of you. Steve invited me to join the discussions here. I will be a first-time attendee at GenCon this year; I'm very much looking forward to it! I've been playing "The World's Oldest Role Playing Game" for 20 years, but I am relatively new to Pathfinder as well as pbp. I am looking forward to meeting some of you as well as getting back into gaming through pbp. Thanks for letting me join!
I'm up for it Steve, but it was 15 years ago; you might have to help me remember how some of it all went! Actually, I had forgotten we party wiped! I thought we just trailed off and stopped playing, as was our custom in that gaming group. I wrote a reference to him still being alive in my first post... Wasn't it a green dragon? Or a bulette? |
