Clancy pulls out his firearm cleaning kit, and puts a bit of cleaning oil onto a polishing cloth. Trying very hard, he attempts to sketch a version of the Pathfinder Society emblem onto one of the metal plaques that Geltra is about to look at, starting so that when she gets to it she'll see the drawing in progress.
Hummer tilts its head quizzically at its owner/master/creator, emitting a small clicking "hmmm?" sound as it observes his strange - and almost certainly ineffective - behavior.

Try as he might to sketch out the Pathfinder emblem with his cleaning cloth, Clancy's effort leads to a series of smudges that don't signify anything to Geltra, even as she is looking in that general direction.
What does get Geltra's attention is Marius speaking his own name. Thinking about what he knows about this, he tries to make his voice a whisper that crosses between the shift.
The kobold girl whirls. "Who said that?"
Bored on the couch, Alec replies, "Said what?"
Marius tries his name again.
"There it is again... marry us? No, Marius! Wasn't that one of the Pathfinders names?"
The room bursts into another round of excited chatter as the students debate this possibility. While others are arguing about it, Tels the ruk team captain makes his way around the edge of the room, as if looking for something, and he sees it: Anya's scrawled message, in some soot to the side of the fireplace: HERE.
"Look!" he shouts, drawing attention to the message in time for the last letter 'e' to appear.
Hari stands up in the middle of the room, commanding everyone's attention with a hand gesture and silencing all side arguments as she projects her voice through the room. "Chaperones, are you there? Send us another sign!"
COMMUNICATING FROM BEYOND
The standard checks for this activity are DC 18 Athletics, Diplomacy, Occultism, and Thievery, representing your ability to use these various means to get a point across the phase shift.
Critical success: You convey a message up to 10 words
Success: You convey one word clearly, such as answering a yes/no question
Failure: The students do not get the message
Critical failure: The students misinterpret your message
Currently, these checks may be made with a +2 circumstance bonus because you have two helpful students (Hari and Tels) present in the main hall of the lodge to be aware of attempted messages.
Who else can get something across to the students?

Hello and welcome to my table! This is part of the Gameday XV event taking place on the Paizo forums and elsewhere in online lodges. Gameplay begins on September 9 and will end no later than November 25.
Game: Pathfinder Society 2nd Edition
Scenario: 2-09 The Seven Secrets of Dacilane Academy
Levels: 1-4
Reminder: All scenarios are now repeatable.
Signups: First-come, first-served on the spreadsheet (open to GMs on August 23, all players on August 26)
Posting expectations: At least once per day
I am in US Eastern time (GMT - 5) and will be making an effort to check in on the game in the morning and evening. If I know I won’t be able to update on a day, I’ll let you know here. I ask you to do the same if you know you could miss 2+ days in a row. I aim to give a full 24 hours for players to react to any events but will not wait around much longer than that.
RPG Chronicles signup and slides will be posted once we get to about a week before game time.

Hello GM Kilimaro and thanks for running this scenario!
Anya is a level 3 Twofold Tine Magus. I don't have anything too contentious about this character rules wise, except that the subclass is from the newest rulebook so let me know if there's something you need me to clarify.
2 GM Glyphs to share, 1 for the Cleric and 1 for the Druid.
Friendly fire is okay but don't make it a habit.
Taking a lesser healing potion for provisions.
I have read your posting expectations and will attempt to meet them. I do have botting instructions in this profile.

Now that I am back from a vacation and we are creeping towards game time, I do have an RPG Chronicles signup and a slide set. Both are linked in the info above but I'll link them here as well:
Slides (Needed: Character token for marching order, companion tokens if present)
Based on current signups, we have 21 challenge points (four level 3s, one level 2, one level 1,) so the game will play in the high tier and any level 1 will get the Level Bump.
Have played with many of the folks I see signed up already, looking forward to running this one for you when the event gets rolling.

Additional question
This scenario indicates that it can be played in a light-hearted way, or more in a horror direction, and it invites the GM to discuss this with players before beginning. Does anyone have a strong preference in either direction? If no one says otherwise, I'll probably play it more in the horror vein, but not too far.

Horror fits for Brandy J. Williams, one of the daughters of Ashley J. Williams, while comedic horror is the genre of the iconic cult character her father (and by extension her and her sisters) are based on.
Brandy J.'s character backstory (sans how she and one of her sisters gained their witch abilities) are on Asley J. Williams alias profile, as part of the Family History of the Williams Family spoiler at the bottom of his profile.
How Brandy J. and her sister, Candy J. gained their witch abilities are currently brewing in my mind, I have not typed it up yet).
The Family History of the Williams Family is more horror than comedy horror. Feel free to read it. :)

Hello, sorry for the late check in, we've been experiencing non-stop monsoon and flood last weekend. But thankfully, we're okay now.
I'm planning to use this character at level 2. But I only need 4 exp to make it to level 3 and we're about to finish a live scenario later (exp will be credited to Dyesebel). Is it okay if we wait out a bit so I could level up Dyesebel and update her stats, skills and profile tonight?
I'm not sure how to align Dyesebel with a horror-themed scenario but I'll go with it. Sounds like it would be more fun anyway. :D

It's looking like a solid preference for horror, so I will take things more in that direction. One part of this suggested by the scenario is placing an emphasis on the limitations of the party's light sources, so the map will probably be more covered up than I would do otherwise for a scenario like this, and map traversal may take more time in this PBP format than it might otherwise.
I received a message yesterday from Brandy's player, who is having challenges with home internet connectivity at present. They wanted me to relay to other players to please not conclude they are flaking on the game if their posting is more sporadic towards the start of the scenario.
Brandy and Dyesebel, please get your info onto RPG Chronicles when able. We have 16 challenge points with the four signed up on there, two more level 3s would set it to 24, that's how I'll set us up as we begin. Brother Dawnfriend can put the Level Bump adjustments - +10 HP, +1 to all attack, damage, saves, skills, AC and DC - for this scenario, because we are solidly in the high-tier.
Brandy and Dyesebel also need to place their tokens (and companion tokens, if any,) on the slides, as do Dawnfriend and Esmeralda. Thank you!

I cannot effectively get set up to use RPG chronicles or edit slides via my phone. When I go to the library on Tuesday I will get that sorted.
@GM: two questions regarding Brandy J.
Question 1:
#1) At your table, would Brandy J. earn Infamy for casting Final Sacrifice on her familiar? The thematics of her familiar is an aspect of her patron, who is her deceased mother. Her mother is a sea hag her father killed to save Brandy J. and her sister, Candy J. Their father also killed Candy J.’s mother (a sweet hag) that day saving two of his three daughters. The third hag (a storm hag) got away with Brandy and Candy’s other sister. The coven of hags had killed their father’s bride earlier (without him aware) and the hags took turns impersonating their father’s wife….leading to the birth of the girls by three different hag mothers. The hags had planned to raise the girls and have them kill their father. Brandy and Candy’s mothers are the source of their witch abilities.
Question 2:
#2) I purchased the hireling boon for Brandy (and for Candy). The girls’ hirelings are identical twins named Brad and Chad. I am currently debating between Absalom Lore (where the hirelings were born and raised) or Pathfinder Society Lore. For the non-lore skill if I take Athletics for the hireling skill, outside of combat encounters, that would mean Brandy & Candy would benefit from their respective hirelings, correct? For example, if during exploration mode, each PC has to make an Athletics check to climb or jump, the hireling makes the check as if they were carrying the girls…since the hireling’s check is the result the PC uses and hirelings stay with the PC.

I was just on vacation a couple of weeks ago and I had the same thing with not being able to do slides on my phone. If you're not able to access that before the game begins, what I will do is put your Paizo forum avatar as your token, and if you want something else you can change that later. Regarding RPG Chronicles, that's fine if you get to it when you can as well - we can begin the game without you signed up. I just like to have it as filled in as possible to be certain I have the challenge points right. Since I know you're level 3, it's fine.
On your other questions, I haven't had to interact with those things as a GM before now. Here's how I look at it for each:
Since the witch patron provides a new familiar during the next daily preparations in the event the familiar dies, and this familiar "might be a duplicate or reincarnation of your former familiar," I would not view sacrificing the familiar as an action for causing Infamy.
For hirelings, what you said is my understanding of how they work, so that sounds good to me. If the scenario has any such Athletics checks, we can assume for narrative and mechanical purposes that Brad is carrying Brandy. You may not want to use the Lore on Pathfinder Society Lore since all PCs are trained in that Lore skill by default.

Nobody should feel like they need to avoid the Light cantrip or using their wayfinder's light. What the scenario suggests for a horror direction is more emphasizing the limitations of those readily-available light sources, that being bright light for 20, dim light for 20 more, and then darkness. As opposed to just kind of hand-waving, "Ah, sure, you can see to the end of that hallway."

Brandy J. does not have light prepared nor has a wayfinder yet. She does have a everlight crystal that sheds blood crimson light.

My fellow players: are any of you okay with being pushed (not damaged) 5 feet by Brandy J.’s familiar? Still no internet access at home. Hopefully tomorrow will get it sorted (as they are closed today because it is Labour Day) and should either have internet access at home again or be waiting for new modem to arrive via mail.
To conserve my mobile data for checking PBP campaigns and posting in them, will probably not check Slides via mobile data. @GM: Please adjudicate my actions as necessary so they match up with map.
Some bad news & good news:
Bad news: my mobile phone (that is my activated phone) is an iPhone (my first one, which a sibling gave to me) - requires an additional (third) one-time fee to get Pathbuilder set up on, and how I pay for such things (prepaid credit card) does not work, so cannot upload Pathbuilder links that I had not already completed and added to relevant character aliases on Paizo.
Bad news: my former phone, which I have the mobile android version of Pathbuilder on, I have not actively used for months/more than a year, so did not have my newer PBP PCs on it. Since my android mobile phone is not my activated phone, no option to use mobile data on it.
Good news: A few blocks from where I live, a government building had their guest wi-fi on, which I discovered earlier today hoping nearby Tim Hortons still provided free wi-fi (there was no wifi being registered on my phone from Timmy’s.
Good news: After several attempts to get government free wi-fi to become stable/reconnecting at least a few times, was able to access my drive for my Pathbuilder account on my android Mobile phone, and saved all my current PBP PCs onto a new local folder on my android mobile phone.
Bad news: Some, but not all my new PCs were already completed (except for gear for some of the completed PCs). Due to losing the last two days of my planned time to complete all my PBP PCs because of unexpected interruption of my home internet, it will take me considerably longer to complete PCs via mobile phones than it would have on my computer.
Good news: I have today and tomorrow to get their mechanical build and gear finished.
Bad news: The various backstories for some of them I will not have done (I need to be in relaxed state and being using my laptop to type them - as trying to type them on mobile is more stressful than relaxing)
Bad news: To try to conserve my mobile data, my posts will lean more to bare bones mechanical posts than including flavor text as part of my posts (as it takes longer typing up posts via my mobile phone than computer) so that I do not fall behind on my PBP commitments more so than not having home internet/ability to post via computer.
Good news: I might have enough mobile data to stay up to date (sans seeing maps as easily) should I be waiting for new modem that is mailed to me.
Bad news: Some (though not all) of my character headers I like to format in ways that 1) present info in easy to find with 2) spoilers strategically placed to aid in #1. For time being PCs who do not yet have headers will be getting bare bones headers.
Apologies for long post. Hopefully the above covers everything.

That feat has always confused me (even in 1E). How many Druids have a particularly good Charisma modifier? Why doesn't the feat just allow you to use Nature to Make an Impression on animals?
I mean, I understand that the reason is that it means a druid who wants to do it has to spend skill training on Diplomacy ... but does it really break the game if the Druid spends a feat to make their high Nature skill a little more useful?

This is the first time I have ever seen Animal Empathy in action as a GM and I tend to agree with your suggested alteration being more fitting for the flavor of the class; in an ongoing home game I'd probably just declare that a house rule and forget it was even a house rule before long because the feat letting you substitute Nature for Diplmacy with animals just feels more intuitive and cool to make a druid who chooses it unique from other classes and even other druids who take other feats at level 1. It's akin to how the Natural Medicine feat lets you do Nature instead of Medicine for a Treat Wounds.
Being as we are in a Pathfinder Society game, this isn't the place to decide I don't like the clear text of a rule and act like it says something else instead. Particularly since in this case the scenario anticipates the use of the feat and says these animals start out as unfriendly rather than indifferent.

@GM Kilimaro, I agree with Esmarelda, I have no issues with you resolving things once we get enough mystery points.
Also, I love everyone's roleplaying and how invested you guys are in your PC background and lore. I also appreciate how the GM reacts to this and integrates it in his story-telling. This is the first time I'm joining a group like this. Although, it could be a bit overwhelming because I wake up in the morning and there's like more than 10 long posts that I have to read but it's really worth my time and sets the mood for the whole day. You guys inspire me to have more fun in the game by being more creative with my character lore and roleplaying rather than just too focused on making "combat-efficient" characters.
Lastly, I could only make one post per day on weekdays because I'm only able to check my paizo account in the morning. Weekends, I'm a lot busier so it's prolly just one post only over the weekends. I wouldn't mind if you need to bot me just to keep things going in the future.

This is a fun group! I appreciate you noticing that I have tried to integrate stuff from what people are putting in about their characters and histories into the story playing out - I enjoy the PBP format for this because it gives me time to think about stuff like that. I do it mostly for my own amusement but it's nice when a player notices. :)
On your weekends being busier: I know that other GMs set their posting expectations ahead of time as "One post per weekday, one post per weekend." That's probably what I will end up using for this game and beyond. If it works out that everyone is able to post on a Saturday, then great, on my Sunday I can advance the story, but if it has to wait until Monday, that's fine with me. It has not been a problem finishing games before the deadline of these PBP con events, so I know I have some time to let things go a bit longer.
My goal is always to keep the game moving at a pace that is consistent but not overwhelming if someone is only able to check in once a day.
Personally, I shoot for one post a day, but sometimes life happens. Sometimes, I get multiple posts a day! I think most GMs are happy if you are regular and they know ahead of time what to expect. As they say, good communication is key.
