I agree that communication is needed.
For right now….Mid March I laid out the Rovagug champion plotline. I’m alright with moving forward saying that Bolvar was just wrong about that. That he thought that this was what they were facing, but the actual threat Urlirth and he are up against is different.
Where I am lost on is *what* this threat is.
Right now: We have had a mass combat where dwarf and drow forces faced a horde of undead led by a liche.
Following the battle: A cadre of vampire assassins attacked Urlrith. You have introduced new characters behind this assault. I am confused as towards who they are.
Also following the battle: Someone summoned demons to attack Bolvar’s army. He has handled it, more or less. And the pause has been long enough that I’d rather not pick up the fight where it left off and instead to move forward with it being done.
Indeed you did, and then the very next post was the one I made that contained your vision of the Sky Citadel(more on that later). Then, you and Urlrith chatted a bit about said visions, and eventually ya'll moved forward with your armies.
However, that soon became your first battle. Which, I did not realize was part of your actual storyline. Cuz, as I said, communication on the 'mock/test battle' was unclear. I thought maybe it was just a random "lets try these rules out with the two PCs who have marshalled armies" (because that's exactly how it sounded when you said "How shall we go from here? I could run a test combat for you? Get a feel for your character if you like. Or we could narratively move forward with what occurs for our followers?") as opposed to "this battle is taking place as we march our armies towards the resolution of our storyline"
Again, communication is key for this sort of game. It's kinda why I suggested discord(to speed up responses), but even PMs to me can be helpful.
As for "You have introduced new characters behind this assault." I have done no such thing. What I did do is exactly what I told you I was going to do via my PM: Use the assassination attempt to introduce a new plot element. Aka some of Urlrith's sisters are not nearly as dead as she thought. That's it. That's all that scene was, more or less.
In fact, I even kept your storyline in tact: " How you managed to draw the attention of a cult of the Rough Beast is beyond me."
I did, however, also throw a swerve into things with that dragon. There's both an in and out of game reason there, with the ooc being that not only did Urlrith fail to outright destroy the vampires, but she then sent a minion after them. Minions can fail far more easily than the PCs.
As to what's going on in game? You'll hopefully find out soon, but I promise it all ties into the story you and Panic are telling. I'm not gonna just reveal all my plots/plans/secrets to all the PCs, lol
I can't help ya on who summoned the demons, as I had nothing to do with that, lol.
"This leaves me needing to know: with Bolvar being wrong about who is behind the threat, who are we actually facing?"
Same thing as above. Bolvar is indeed powerful and mighty, but he doesn't know everything going on all over the world. You need to find out in game.
"And if you have something in mind for Bolvar and a Sky citadel, would you prefer that we just wrap this story up? Say that Bolvar was wrong about said threat, that it wasn’t as world shattering as he feared, and we turn towards the story seeds you have planned?"
Nope, you can keep this story on track. Unless I'm mistaken, this is where things stand:
1) Bolvar just roflstomped some demons and purple worms. The Gemforged Order arrived and backed him up. Day saved, yay!
2) Urlrith is chillin in city, having just survived an assassination attempt. She also found out 3 of sisters are still alive. Booo.
However, she has ordered her daughters and devil homie to learn what they can about the assassins, and make sure her throne room is more secure. She then left through a portal, probably to go take a long hot bath, while sipping some dark elven wine.
3) Someone/something is out in the Darklands, summoning demons and undead. Why? Don't know. Maybe is a cultist of Rovagug. Maybe is not. Maybe the PCs need to investigate further.
4) Some sort of dragon is involved, but all it did was save the vampire assassins from being sent to Final Death. Who was it? Why did it save them? Maybe the PCs need to investigate further.

Finally, regarding the Sky Citadel, I apparently messed up, and did *not* include the proper link to the wiki. Fixing it here, now:
You immediately recognize this 'tower' as the only visible part of the Sky-Citadel Jormurdun, long thought lost to the Worldwound and it's demonic invaders. You also know that this vision was sent by you god, Torag.
Obviously, ignore any parts at the end there about the Pathfinder Society, laying siege to the citadel, and it's recovery. None of that has happened.
Bolvar also does not *currently* know anything about who or what might inhabit Jormurdun, but considering it lies within the Worldwound, demons are a safe bet, lol
As to what he does next, regarding it? That's entirely up to you. You're somewhere in the Darklands atm(idk where, in relation to the nations of the Inner Sea ya'll are at), but you know Jormurdun is somewhere in the Worldwound. You know it's storied history, but it's been thought lost for 'thousands of years', so you know nothing of what may or may not have happened to it in that intervening time, nor who or what may be residing within(expect, as I said above, probably at least some demons).
Again, ask yourself: WWBGD? lol

Do we think we want a Discord server or something for quick communication so we can make sure we communicate frequently, or do we think just making sure we post here in discussion more is enough?

This, 100% lots of dark elven wine.

I ever tell you about my drow necromancer Veldrin? He had given up Enchantment and I *think* Conjuration as his prohibited schools. However, my GM allowed me to make his own Dark Elven wine that was able to duplicate Enchantment spells, lol. This was back in the 3.x days, so there wasn't any Shadow Enchantment ones.

Was her a three to four Enchantments a day sort of Dark Elf.
haha
Note she has popped over not to see Bolvar just as the battle comes to and end.

Hi All
Im waiting on Bolvar Gemforged to respond to our interaction.
| Golarion's Storyteller |
I've been pretty slammed with work, but in the best way. I get called in early/for extra shifts a lot, to the point where my boss said that aside from the managers, I have the most hours at my store.
That said, I'm off tonight and tomorrow. My hopeful goal for tonight is to reply to both Areelu and Kit. I do also have a post I wanna make for Lord Xia.
@Urlrith, I sent him a message a week or so ago, but never heard back. Unsure if he's dropped out or not.

I began working on my reply to Areelu, but it ended up requiring a fair amount of research/lore diving. It's also a lot longer than I initially intended, and I'm not even fully done. I needed to make some candles tonight too, which ate into my time as well.
Thus, I'll finish it tomorrow. Kit might need to wait, but we'll see how the next few days play out. I work a crazy Squishy Dumpling event Sat(10am-4pm), and then I'm goin to the ren faire with one of my co-worker on Sun. Will try my best get other's posts up before Monday, but if not, you know why.
