He excitedly states mostly to Sylvara, "I agree, my fists can simply knock them out should they choose to be a traitor. Guriok can help with that too. But I love having a lion on our side! Sylvara does he speak or understand us?" He grows nonchalant with his question.

As the one is knocked out and the other dealt with by Fergus he goes over to the lion, kneels and states, "You are a fierce vision of primal power and elegance. May Iomedae bless you."


She snarls and states, "No she was the other way. Deeper into the outpost. There should be only at most 7 more here. The first two I can get to stand down."


The small creature was showing him the respect he deserved, the lion nods and puts a pawn on the back of the small reptilian thing infront of him


Xantor offers to go back and get the 'civilians'.

Hated Target:

Hated Target (Su): The phantom can take a move action to designate one creature within its line of sight as a hated target. The phantom gains a +2 bonus on attack rolls against its hated target, and a bonus on damage rolls equal to 1/2 the phantom’s Hit Dice (minimum 1). The phantom is so focused on this hated target that it takes a –2 penalty on attack rolls against all other creatures. The phantom can maintain these bonuses against only one target at a time, and these bonuses remain in effect until either the hated opponent is dead or it has been out of the phantom’s line of sight for at least 1 minute. When the spiritualist reaches 7th level, the phantom can use this ability as a swift action, and takes no penalty when attacking creatures that are not designated as its hated enemy. The phantom must be manifested in ectoplasmic form to use this ability (unless the spiritualist is 17th level or higher; see Shared Hatred below).

"Just be careful, he's very picky about his mane. And he doesn't understand difficult concepts like magic, sure, you can clean him" she nods towards him, as the large lion simply sits down and waits patiently for this supposed gift

"We may take them with is, but I'm still not sure leaving a Villian like her behind us is such a good idea. She sounds like the petty type and she could make our lives very difficult going forward if left alone"

H13. Rat Nest (CR 2)
An old iron ladder, bolted into the wall and covered in rust, leads down a hole to the south of this foul-smelling room.

She soothes the rats and they follow her almost like dogs.

Creatures: The shredded cloth is a nest for three advanced dire rats. Wenduag befriended and left them to guard the surface approach to the lair. The rats viciously attack anyone not accompanied by a mongrel, but otherwise attack only in self defense.

H14. Upper Guard Post (CR 3)
A rusted iron door sits in the center of the eastern wall of this small chamber. A copper brazier hangs from the ceiling above a flimsy wooden table.
Creatures: Two mongrelmen guards take shifts in this room.

Sending speaks with them and they join the progression. Wendi then states, "Defeat the dretches and they will join under me. Two more blades for your cause."

Onyx casts the spell and begins to slowly clean the lion's flank first, back, and finally the mane. He offers, "We should go collect the other mongrel men. They should be more blades for our cause. I only knocked out the other four. I can also channel and bring them too. They will be bruised and if they swear fealty then we can heal them fully at the end of the 'day'."

Once she is out sight for a minute or so the captain will have released the focused rage towards her during our brief fight with her. "When you say Dretches? Do you mean it derogatory or actual fiends?" she asks the peculiar mongrel woman


She states in a sadistic way, "We mean some actual fiends. The structure in the center of the room is actually a crude maze, constructed by the mongrels to create a defense against intruders from the surface to their lair. Before Hosilla’s arrival, the mongrels kept several bloated sewer rats in the maze to attack intruders, but when Hosilla arrived, she placed a pair of dretch demons here instead..."

H15. Dretch Maze (CR 4)
This large chamber must have once been a cistern for the sewer system. Walls made of identical stone blocks hold up a lofty ceiling reinforced with elegant stone arches, while the center of the room contains a more recent-looking structure made of brick walls that reach from floor to ceiling.

Captain Fergus walks to Preacher and retrieves his two drinking cups from the backpack.

Preacher puts out his hand to the captain, "If it would be okay, I will hold Guriok's cup and deliver it to him after you have filled it with grog, Captain."

The phantom assents to the request, "You're not a bloody cabin boy! But your request is granted, Priest of the Fallen."

Fergus fills the two cups, one in his left hand and the other in Preacher's right hand, with grog. He then turns around to face Guriok.

Preacher sleight of hands drinks the grog, then fills the cup he is holding with water from his waterskin, and walks over and hands the cup to Guriok.

The captain makes a shorter toast than yesterday, "Fiends to slay! We are going to slay bloody dretches this day!"

Description
Even the lowest demons of the Abyss are dangerous and filled with a driving need to spread ruin and dismay. The lowly dretch is as hideous and foul as it is cruel, even if it lacks the strength and power to realize its need to brutalize others in its native realm. The lot of the dretch’s existence is to serve more powerful demons as victims, and only the lucky few survive long enough to evolve.

The dretch is a favorite target for dabblers in Abyssal summonings to call forth. Relatively weak and easy to bully, dretches can often be pressured into long periods of servitude with only vague promises of the opportunity to vent their frustrations and anger on softer foes. Yet the prospective dretch-summoner would do well to remember that these demons are as craven and untrustworthy as they come. A dretch faced with a more powerful foe is only too eager to trade what it knows for its pitiful excuse for a life.

Unlike most demons, a dretch’s slovenly personality and disdain for prolonged physical labor rarely result in success. Advanced dretches are rare, but those who do find it within themselves to be more than they were at creation often become the pauper-kings of the Abyss, cruel and bitter in their rule over vermin, broken souls, mindless undead, and other dretches. Their empires are confined to abandoned stretches of sewers under backwater cities, unstable reaches of swampland avoided by more sensible minds, and other undesirable corners of the Abyss that even demons find uncomfortable or foul. Yet to the dretch lords, these realms are their empires, and they defend them with a pitiful tenacity.

A dretch stands 4 feet tall and weighs 180 pounds. Dretches typically form from the souls of slothful, evil mortals—yet it only takes a small fragment of a soul to trigger such a hideous birth. A single soul can often trigger the manifestation of a small army of dretches, and the sight of a horde of fresh-birthed dretches pulling free from the heaving protomatter of the Abyss is a nauseating and terrifying one indeed.

Description
Stinking cloud creates a bank of fog like that created by fog cloud, except that the vapors are nauseating. Living creatures in the cloud become nauseated. This condition lasts as long as the creature is in the cloud and for 1d4+1 rounds after it leaves. (Roll separately for each nauseated character.) Any creature that succeeds on its save but remains in the cloud must continue to save each round on your turn. This is a poison effect.

Preacher runs to aid his orc-blooded & human-blooded friend, getting his starknife in hand, and ready to throw it at any threats he sees engaging Guriok in melee.

Both Preacher and Fergus strike the dark green demon. Then they see the others follow.
