Yes, the shield prevented the hit and absorbed the damage (weakening the shield, but not knocking anyone over)
Kadef weakens the bubble, and when Elwin moves in to touch it, it just collapses like a soap bubble, exposing Raysel, who is still busy summoning.
Twila's shot confirm the shield is down: it's a direct on the ryphorian, who loses control over the summoning, interrupting the spell with a bang and a slight smell of phosphor.
WIll: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Jekcedo still tries to mentally blast Estrikkon back to the ground, and interrupts his side of the spell as well, leaving just the two lawyers to deal with.
The professor misses, but Dahs repeats his solid blows, and manages to take out Raysel this time.

Estrikkon throws down his machine gun, dives down while switching to his glaive and swoops at Dash

Jek spends 1 resolve point and spends a full round doing Healing Channel. Everyone but Dr. A-Prof is in range.
Healing Channel: 4d8 ⇒ (6, 3, 8, 8) = 25
Anyone on Jek's side with at least 1 point of HP damage, heals 25 points of damage HP first and then Stanima due to the medic archetype. I think that is Dash, Elwin, and Kadef
Twila-5

Holstering her pistol, Twila-5 hefts up the unwieldy rifle. She's grateful that her teammates left her a clear shot as she aims and fires.

Elwin deals a mighty zap to the jetpack of the wingless Dragonkin, and as Twila's shot zips past the majestic lawyer, the Professor shock him further. Reeling and barely standing, all it takes is another blow from Dash end the battle!
Combat over!
Order, order! Judge Axiennes shouts as a specialized team of medics quickly revive Raysel and Estrikkon. The ritual has reached a verdict! The court rules in favor of Zo!
There is an hour or so of deliberation, when Ace Mayor Sindeo is ready to make an announcement.
Ace Mayor Sindeo adopts a solemn smile. “It’s my honor to announce that I am formally changing the name of our great and storied city. To my fellow citizens of Zo, submit your ideas for consideration through your local voting offices. To the galaxy at large, join us in charting a new future for our city. Tune in to “Zo! for Zo,” a live broadcast graciously hosted by Zo! himself to cast your vote for our new name, selected from a carefully curated list of citizen-submitted options.”
Zo! gives the camera a rictus grin. “That’s right! You can help pick a new name for this fair city during a live variety show hosted by yours truly! What’s more, I’m placing one name right onto the voting ballot: City McCityface!”
Ace Mayor Sindeo’s smile slips, but Zo! plows ahead. “Love it? Hate it? Tune in and vote! The choice is yours!”
That bring us to the end. Thank you all for playing! Please roll day job, and I'll turn to reporting!
@Twila: can you make sure your details are entered into RPG chronicles?

On the way home
"I should have asked for Zo!'s autograph before the trial when I had the chance, but I bet next time any of us meet Zo! he will remember our names, that makes us almost famous!"
Later Jek secretly enters "New Zo" in the Rename the City contest, Hoping if they pick that name Jek will get a second chance to represent Zo! in the next trial. "Next time I'm going to get Zo!'s autograph!"
Elwin the Technomancer
|
"That was a tough fight. Those two do make an effective team."
Of possible Elwin will visit them to tell them that in person. He genuinely respects them.
He'll agree with Jekcedo as well, "You know, all the times i've worked with him, i've never thought to get his autograph. Now should be a good time!"
No day job here.

RPG Chronicles are a go.
"Honestly, that was the most straightforward Society mission I've had. I keep waiting for another shoe to drop." Twila-5 remarks tonelessly. She does not submit a name for the new city, but if she was eligible to vote, City McCityface would be her choice.
Day Job (electrician): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
About a week after they get back, she pays Jekcedo a visit to give him a package. Neatly wrapped in brown paper is a well-framed shadowbox with the autograph Zo! gave her. On the back of the frame is a note from her: "Here's one for your collection. Stay alive so you can collect more! Your friend, Twila-5"
Kadef

"I am glad the matter has been settled to Zo!'s satisfaction, and that Zo is taking it well. And we did it without loss of life, an unusually felicitous outcome."
No day job for Kadef.

Jek opens the package and Jek's bug eyes bug out even more.
"Oh, wow! Are you sure... Wow ok then um I'm out of options for words, um um Thank you! After Twila-5 leaves Jek hangs the autograph on the wall and sits down to admire it, feeling excited and sad at the same time. Jek thinks out loud to themself. ?Wow that was really thoughtful of Twila-5 but now what am I going to do with the rest of my life I need a new goal... Ok I should do something nice for Twila-5 in return, but what to get a death-touched android as a gift, that's new set of options to consider...
"Dash" Riprock
|
Shortly after the group arrives back at Absalom Station each party member receives a package from Dash's agent containing a signed picture of Nagdashar "Dash" Riprock and tickets to the season opener for the Absalom Ankhegs. Attached is a note which reads: Hey Mate, I know you like autographs and were probably too shy to ask for mine so here you go. I also got you passes for the first zero-gee football match of the season. You'll be in the friends and family section so be on your best behavior."
Kadef
|
Kadef opens the package and reads the note. An interesting opportunity to observe another Pact World's subculture, and see Dash in his natural element.
He sends a politely phrased thank you, and marks the date on his calendar.
Elwin the Technomancer
|
Elwin opens the package and smiles. "Never been a big sports fan but this I gotta go see!"
He also marks it on his calendar.
Twila-5
|
It'll be good to see the team again. Twila-5 decides to go, especially once she hears that some of the others are going. She even buys a navy blue hat with the Absalom Ankhegs logo on it and sends a pic of it to Dash. The autograph-- well, she files it away. Perhaps it'll come in useful someday.
Jekcedo
|
Jek opens the package and is excited to get two autographs in one day! Then Jek spends the rest of the day going over options for what to wear to a zero-gee football match, and ops to get an Absalom Ankhegs jersey with Dash Riprock's number on it, and attaches mini pompoms in the Absalom Ankhegs colors to the top of his antenna.
At the game
"This is really cool, Hay I got an idea, for the next game, we could volunteer to work security and the medical team, What could go wrong???"
Dr. A-Prof
|
By the time the match rolls around, The Professor has managed (somehow) to etch the Absalom Ankhegs into their collective carapaces, such that when they flow into the correct alignment that it scatters the light & flares. This alignment happens each time the Ankhegs score a goal.
It turns out that several of the Collective have a secondary etching as well, for whenever Dash makes a standout play. It reads Goooo... DASH!
Jekcedo
|
Jek jumps up in excitement shaking the antenna pompoms.
"Dash just scored! does that mean the game will go to overtime?"
Kadef
|
At the match, Kadef eschews his robes for a casual body-suit. His reserved manner is somewhat out of place amongst the effusive crowd. However by the end of the first half he is enthusiastically jumping to his feet to raise all four hands when the wave circles the arena. A few social libations into the second half, he's quietly making unseemly observations about the opposition players' reproductive habits. By the end of regulation, he's cheering loudly a few seconds too late.
A few days after the match, you all receive a politely worded card, thanking you for a splendid afternoon and for helping him understand the game.
Elwin the Technomancer
|
As time for the game approached Elwin caught the fever. He shows up at the gate in Dash's jersey with an oversized foam Ankheg in one hand to wave around and an ingenious hat with their logo that is equipped with not one, but two beverage slots! TWO slots! It was a bargain!
He finds his normally introverted self screaming with the crowd.
"I didn't know how much fun this was! Let's do it again!"

The chronicles are here!. Hope you like them, let me know if I missed anything. Do you guys want to play another one? (E.g. 7-05, which is the same level range?)
Elwin the Technomancer
|
Hah! Love it!
Aw. I would love to play with this group and you running again. However, I signed up for that game with another character for the current online con and are in the middle of it now.
| AbadarCorp Entertainment |
ACE_GM, sir. I hate to be a whiner, but doesn't Kadef get the Out of Level cash award?
Hmpf, it's worse. We were in high tier, but RPGC registered as low tier, so... I have to manually adjust all chronicles now. Bear with me...
Edit: It should be fixed now...
"Dash" Riprock
|
Ha! Love the responses regarding the season opener. Thanks again for a great game everyone.
I haven't played 7-05 and would love to play Dash once again. I suspect that he's about to get a three game suspension for a particularly dirty tackle and arguing with the ref so he'll need something to keep himself busy.
Twila-5
|
Awesome! Thanks for the autograph! I'll treasure it always. ;)
I'd love to play 7-05. Twila-5's predecessor spent some time in the diaspora with space pirates. It'll be interesting if she recognizes anything/anyone. I'll need to level her up before we start. She'll be 6th level.
Twila-4's backstory doesn't include any specifics about that, so it's up to GM discretion.
Jekcedo

Chronical looks good thanks for running the game! Love the image in the chronicle! Great move on Twila-5's part to ask for the permission slip!
Ha! Love the responses regarding the season opener. Thanks again for a great game everyone.
Between the autographs and the season opener game, we had 16 posts in overtime after the scenario! Going to the game made a fun ending.
@ ACE_GM I'm up for 7-05 sounds like a good scenario to have a mystic along. I'm also signed up for your "Shards of the glass planet (L1)" just wondering when that might start, I should be able to handle both games.

I looked at all the chronicles and it looks like Kadef and Elwin are at low tier and everyone else is at out of level. Not really sure how all this works, if you had fixed them already maybe a new link to them is needed?
| AbadarCorp Entertainment |
I fixed the tick box on the chronicle, but in my haste forgot to adjust the actual credit amount, so the change is subtle.
We were indeed playing up, so it’s high tier gold, or out of tier for Kadef and Elwin. Will fix when i’m back at my computer.
Dr. A-Prof
|
So, It looks like the chronicle for Dr. A-Prof is still for the Out-of-Tier payout (he's L5).
Additionally, it looks like while the faction was listed right (the Acquisitives), the starting value should've been just 1.
Twila-5
|
Twila-5 is in the same boat as Dr. A-Prof. She was level 5 when playing this, but is showing Out of Tier credits.
| AbadarCorp Entertainment |
Ok, everything should be fixed now - let me know if I still missed something.
Elwin the Technomancer
|
Looks good. Thanks again for running!
Hate I can't join in for 7-05. I think my Dwarven engineer is maybe halfway through it now. Can I do it as a 'replay' even though that one is still ongoing? :)

Looks good. Thanks, GM Kludde!
