Marigold doesn't see anything about the unlatched hatch, though wisps of fog leak out as she opens it.
Beneath the hatch, a spiral staircase descends into a sparkling clean underground workshop. The complex is well-lit by bright recessed lights, but an odd fog hangs in the air. It's not thick enough to significantly obscure vision, but it might make it harder to notice things.
Everyone takes a -2 penalty to sight-based Perception checks.
The round room at the bottom of the stairs has several doors, one of which swings open of its own accord as the party reaches the floor.
On the other side of the door, just visible past another door way 20 feet away, is a sphere that glows with blue light. It's hard to make it out from here past the fog, but it seems like there are a lot of shiny shards of stone strewn about.
A voice calls out, "Is someone there? Come in, come in! I have powerful aeon stones. I'm sure you'd like some--I'll give some to you!"
Marigold Longfoot
|
Marigold takes out her bow, but holds it at her side as she descends. She looks around the shiny room, and lets out a low whistle.
At the sound of the voice, she glances back at the others and says, ”Free candy!? Oh boy!” ;-)
Raphaeleos
|
"Come out and give them to us." Raphaeleos calls the voice. "We don't know where you are." he adds. "Is it coming from that sphere?" he then asks the others.
Mec-02
|
All in all we'll get these stones if they exist. Two ways: the origin of the voice gives it to us or we take them after having deleted her.
The android stays phlegmatic. How could it be otherwise?
| GM Super Zero |
There is certainly magic ahead.
"You've found the Aeon Nexus! Don't you see all the leftover pieces around? Yes, this blue light here is the Nexus. You can extract aeon stones from it--nobody ever came to claim them! We've just been waiting down here for so long."
Raphaeleos
|
Raphaeleos listens while determining if the voice is being honest or there is something off from their statements.
"How long have you been here... really?" he asks the voice. Perception +9 to Sense Motive
| GM Super Zero |
The only answer is "Oh, quite a long time. Help yourself! Extract an aeon stone from the Aeon Nexus--that's what it's there for!"
Fumbus Sr
|
I just understood that we're assumed to have gone down and are now at the beginning of the 20 foot corridor
From the end of the corridor, Fumbus lights a torch. He asks his companions to ready weapons.
"When you're ready, I'll toss the torch ahead to shed light into the room"

Raphaeleos nods and draws out his staff and raises his Shield.
Arcana +6 to Recall Knowledge about Aeon Nexus
"Hmm... Aeon Nexus. I think I have heard it somewhere..." Raphaeleos tries to remember about the Aeon Nexus.
| GM Super Zero |
Raphaeleos Arcana: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Alice Arcana: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Fumbus and Raphaeleos recognize the broken bits of stone scattered around as pieces of broken aeon stones. It seems true that the ball of blue light contains such magic items.
Alice, meanwhile, thinks something is off. The magical energy here doesn't seem strong enough.
Marigold sees that the blue light does seem to contain smaller objects within, revolving about not unlike how aeon stones are known to. She also sees something else, a humanoid figure standing behind the light. Constructed of stone, metal, and wood, it's not actually a person. Perhaps a statue, or a damaged, ancient construct. It has a wayfinder in its hand, and doesn't seem to be moving.

Marigold sneaks back to the others.

”Okay, so there’s this light with a bunch of stones floating around it”, she whispers, ”and a statue with a wayfinder in its hand”
Alice the Poppet
|
The Alices confer quietly, then the little girl says, "Something's not right about it. It might be a trap. Here, I'm going to see what happens."
The little girl sets the doll on the floor, and walks up to the light, puts a hand in, and attempts to grasp aeon stones.
| GM Super Zero |
As Alice the Girl approaches, she notices three things. The first is that there are actually two of the wood and metal constructs, the second one standing back against the wall in apparent deterrence to the first, a little difficult to notice through the steamy air as it blends in with its surroundings.
The second thing she notices is that the two constructs--and they are constructs, not statues--look up sharply as she approaches the Nexus.
The third thing is a bolt of electricity arcing towards her from the Nexus as the stones with in whir about in agitation.
Electricity Damage: 2d8 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6, DC 21 basic Reflex
The fragments of stone on the floor also begin to vibrate, and then to move through the air. The stones and the Nexus seem dangerous, but removing the aeon stones from within may be the true solution?
The closer construct raises an arm, and the Girl sees a length of electrified material extending from it. "Preserver," he says and the other looks at him, "begin Aeon extraction."

I should probably say--the Aeon Nexus is a complex hazard. Disabling it calls for two actions for a Thievery check and requires extracting the stones from it.

Raphaeleos then forges a connection of life energy between him and Alice, distributing harm between them when she gets to that. He also feels the life is seeping out of him. Minor Curse. He then casts divine guidance to Marigold to help her out on what she will do next. "Be careful."

Alice mostly avoids the blast and heals a little from Raphaeleous's spell. Alice's own spell misses its mark, however.
The stones within the Nexus whirl, and the fragments whipping about the place drive themselves through the air, jagged edges flashing and lightning arcing between them. An arc of stone fragments slashes at the Girl, and at Marigold, and at Raphaeleous, and at Enrax, and at... actually no. While they don't seem intelligently directed, the whipping stones still veer around the constructs as though repelled.
Alice the Girl, Marigold, Raphaeleous, and Enrax all take piercing damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1 and electricity damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4, with a DC 21 basic Reflex save.

The Aeon Nexus is the name of the trap, which is an object and immune to mental effects. I'm going to assume you mean one of the constructs--but they're immune to nonlethal damage and therefore mostly immune to daze.
Could still suffer the critical failure result, though... no, successful save.

| GM Super Zero |
"I--must be--Perfect..." the construct utters as he collapses under the crushing weight of Alice's blow.
Alice recognizes these as a type of wyrwoods, but they seem sufficiently uniquely custom-built and modified that there's nothing about the creature itself that she's confident applies to these two. But she notices the way they clutch their wayfinders, and the way the whirling stone fragments avoid them to attack only the Pathfinders, and thinks there may be a connection there.
