Dotted and deleted, will have a little more of Tribim's personality filled out soon. Looking forward to starting with all of you.
TGM Cat do the party members need to know each other well, or just a passing knowledge. Tribim is from town, but he's been spending a lot of time in the hinterlands with Shalelu lately.
@Tribim: I would say that your characters would only really need passing knowledge of each other. You don't all have to know each other growing up (or even be from Sandpoint, in the case of Tarka & Sona).

I figure most people who have spent more than a couple of weeks in Sandpoint has heard of Vinexa even if they haven't met her directly. She is generally friendly, even if a bit distant, towards most people and is considered by most to be a woman of loose morals if not an outright whore depending on how favorably they view her because most of them do not know why she sleeps around and flirts like she does.
Since Tribim followed the ranger Shalelu (who is good friends with Ameiko owner of the rusty dragon) back in town he would have gone past his parents house and said hello. Then returned to the Rusty Dragon to wait for his ranger to be ready to leave. Probably curled up by the fireplace watching the crowd.
Obviously he can find his way to wherever 'Cat' wants to start our adventure :)
Hey Vinexa you speak Mithran, do you have a language that you think might fit it? Or would you prefer Tribim just makes 'cat sounds' when he speaks it?
"Mew...Prrrr...Mrow?" she questions with deep contemplation.
LOL, I didn't notice that Sona spoke Mithran as well :)
Yeah that's exactly what I had in mind. He would speak mostly in Mithran and occasionally in common using cat sounds as the beginnings of words. Like "purrfect" and such. As was demonstrated in the recruitment thread.
Not that I've got it all worked out, but will do that in game.
so figured I should get a little of Tribims appearance and personality on paper page? We had a grey tabby that we thought was part 'Maine Coon' so I relied heavily on that for his description.
appearanceI think this must of been his senior picture or something, since he isn't wearing his smoked goggles.
Appearance and personality:
Tribim is large for a Felynes, though he prefers the term Palicoe, even if he is not of a calico color. His coloring is considered brown tabby though his paws and nose have an almost red coloration to them which accents his bright yellow eyes. His overall appearance would be characterized by a prominent leonine ruff around his neck and chest, a robust bone structure, a rectangular body shape, an uneven two-layered coat with longer guard hairs over a silky satin undercoat, and a long, bushy tail.
As befitting a Felynes from Varisia he dresses in the native folks bright clothing. His dark blue trousers are cropped short while his light green poets-shirt is tucked at the waist and the sleeves rolled up and his red waisted vest has pockets within and without. He wears the studded leather armor Shalelu gave him proudly. With his smoked goggles on his simple leather cap and his wool cloak and hood hanging from his shoulders. He is always wearing his bandoliers keeping useful items at hand and has his oversized pack near so he is ready to go when adventure calls.
His personality is a little more relaxed than many of the Felynes population. Not that he won't swat at someone teasing him or chase a mouse. He just tries to keep a friendlier disposition than most. He enjoys the company of the 'bigger folk' happy to tag along and help where he can. he's curious, friendly and athletic, more a doer than a thinker. He's quick with his paws and has some skill at thieving due to a misspent youth.
My apologies for the long post, it's easiest to develop a personality as the story goes.
A quick question. Tribim has Scent ability. I've not played a character with scent much. Mechanically how will it work? The page does explain how to 'track' with it. But it's rather vague on it's perception-like qualities. May I assume it will provide natural revelation the same way viewing something would. Do I need to identify that Tribim is 'sniffing' around if I want to use it like perception? I'm just looking for how it might work mechanically so I don't over or under estimate it's value.
This is the way I understand it. Scent works like continuous detect magic coupled with all-around sight.
First Round/Constant: You can detect the presence of a any scent within a 30ft range (60 or 15 dependent on the wind, or triple this if they are stinky). It doesn't have to be in front of you in a cone, but can be 30ft behind you too.
Move Action (Which works like Round 2 of detect magic): You now want to get closer to this scent, or know where it is coming from, so you use a move action to pinpoint the direction of that scent's origin.
Within range (Which works like round 3): If you move within 5ft range and they are otherwise hidden from you (such as with invisibility), you can pinpoint them for purposes of an attack. You will still have miss chance, but you know what square they are in.
For tracking, you are considered picking up their track (as though seeing it with perception), and you follow it for one mile by rolling a successful survival.
So I just learned that one of my family members has contracted COVID. He's self-isolating and we've all been triple-vaxxed, but it's still pretty scary.

I am informing my games that I'll be out of town this week. We may have internet. If so, no worries. If not, I will be at the whims of my cellular network. I don't think there will be an issue.

Hello all. I'm going to be in nature and away from computers starting Friday evening (4/29, 5pm, US/Pacific time) until late Sunday 5/1. I should be able to catch up in all games that same evening. As my absence is over the weekend I hope/expect for minimal disruption to my games.
