1) I am based in Southeast Asia (UTC +8) so my posting hours may be unusual (especially for those in North America). I usually update at least one or twice per day. Just to keep the game moving, please post at least once every day and at least once during the weekend. If you disappear for more than 24 hours, especially during combat, I will simply place your character on infinite delay just to keep things moving.
2) Please label all three of your actions. Even if you think what you are doing is obvious.
3) If I am unavailable for longer than 24 hours, I will let you know in the Discussion Tab. Out of respect for your fellow players and myself, I ask that you do the same. Real life happens, and real life will always take priority over the game, but out of fairness for your fellow players, please let us know if you will be unavailable for an extended period of time.
4) Questions, concerns? Feel free to share them in the Discussion tab.
5) Let's have some fun and tell a great story together! After all, that's what we are here for.

"I'm seeing double here! Four brontos!" Jiggo's laughter catches everyone's attention. He covers his mouth with his hand. "Sorry! It's a good joke, you had to be there." A sigil glows upon his hand, in the shape of an arc.
"I'm Jiggo, pleased to meet you. This is my partner Salera. Come on, honey." He beckons the shadow to approach.

Salera, the Reformed |

The scarred gray-skinned creature emerges, carefully examining each step before taking Jiggo's hand. You notice the same glowing sigil upon her hand. She politely bows and drops her facade.
"Jiggs, we gotta talk some more about keeping quiet." She ruffles her hand through his puffy orange hair. "Good thing you're funny."

A thinner looking man wearing spectacles and carrying a bulging pack comes scrambling up the trail. Sweat beads his face and damp marks cover his clothes as several books fall from his bag. He falls down into the dirt to quickly scoop them up before realizing he has company. "Oh hello! My name is Fynn, what's yours?"

![]() |

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Jiggo's pauses his haste to meet a new friend. "Oh, sorry about that, I almost kicked you Eddie."
He begins picking up books. "Hello Fynn. My name is Jiggo Maelerant...i. I had to change my family name slightly. Family has moved on to a new edition."

Salera, the Reformed |

The woman robs Jiggo of his fun and picks up some books. "Salera. Pleased to meet you."

![]() |

At this point a short, plump, elderly woman bustles up to the group, using a staff as a walking stick. She's wearing the most ridiculous bunched-up blob of a blood red sweater dress that you could ever imagine. It seems to be about twelve sizes too big for her, and is tied up with random bits of multi-colored strings into bunches at seemingly random spots so that it doesn't fall right off her. Peeking out from underneath it is...chain mail. Because *that* makes sense.
"Hello dearies! Oh dear. Are those books okay? Here, let me help. Oooooffff!" With a groan, she lowers herself to her knees and lifts the last book off the ground. Dusting it off, she hands it back to Flynn. "Here you go sweetheart. I'm Mrs. Crinkle, by the way. My, what a lovely group we have here! Oooohhhhfffff." And with that, she uses her staff to rise back to her feet, not even bothering to brush the debris from her knees. She extends her hand to help Flynn to his feet.

Salera, the Reformed |

"Ma'am? Do you need any help?" Salera offers a hand to Mrs. Crinkle. "You can always lean on me if you need any aid." She gives a short bow.

Or me Betel says. My name is Betel Capella, sorceress or aquamancer. Rhymes with Petal
She is wearing simple blue/green wizard robes with basic walking boots and lookis like an elf but has a bluish/greenish tinge to her blonde hair and skin.
What is a bronto? she asks Jiggo.

Ah, hello, another great day for. Well what is on the board today. Not as great as fishing, especially when you play dirty in the competition
Just finished b9 with this guy, the fishing one in case people are wondering.

Your adventure begins in Ravounel’s capital city of Kintargo as you cross Bleakbridge, the bridge that connects the northern and southern halves of the city and also serves as a thriving hub of commerce. The marketplace’s slender, wooden storefronts dissipate into tents and pop-up vendors. As you pass a lively tavern called Clenchjaw’s, you spot a sandwich board sign with the silhouette of a swashbuckling figure with silver ravens flying behind them.
"Fortune and glory await daring adventurers. Ask Laela Vost about exciting opportunities. Experience on boats and at sea is a bonus!"
Inside the lively tavern, you have no trouble finding people who can point you to Laela Vost, a bronze-skinned Taldan woman in fine embroidered clothes, sitting at a table within view of the band playing on stage. Laela begins by offering you some mint tea and butter mints, as well as a seat at her table. She briefly interviews each of you, asking about your adventuring experience individually and how you work together as a team.
"Step up and have a seat. The tea and mints are pretty good here. So, you wanna go on an adventure, eh? What have ya done so far? How long have y'all been workin' together?"
Please introduce your characters here.

@Betel, please complete the Macros linked at the top of the page and upload your token to the slides as well

Never spent a moment actually fishing... spent the entire tournament stealing others' fish! :)

Well, to be honest, I've not met many of them before and the last thing I've done was to rescue a bunch of Desnians from a Zon-Kuthon controlled area.
As for the sea, well, it's my home in a way. I'm an elf undine cross and my name is Betel Capella. I'm a water sorceress.
She is wearing simple blue/green wizard robes with basic walking boots and looks like an elf but has a bluish/greenish tinge to her blonde hair and skin. She also says the mint tea is delicious.

"Brontosauruses. Brontosauri? Well, they're dinosaurs. Very cute when they are babies, but you must be gentle or they'll bowl you over." Jiggo's hand soars near Salera's forehead. "Some of them had feathers, I think... or maybe more scales. Very controversial."
"There was one that went missing and an awful... hyena? Uh, hobgoglin? Oh, bugbear. Right, thanks honey. One badguy was trying to capture and enslave the missing bronto. We had to... take care of her. But hey, I heard all of the brontos were returned to their parents."
His mind flashes back to his own daughter, and their first hug in decades. She was so happy. He was so happy. Salera was delighted in her own way.
"Laela, I'm willing to help in any way that I can. Salera, as well- we're kind of a team."

Salera, the Reformed |

Salera pulls up a chair for Mrs. Crinkle. "If you need extra biscuits or tea I'll get them for you, alright?"

![]() |

Eddie looks up smiling once they've been spotted "Oh. You seemed nice back in the forest so I figured I'd follow you around some." Replies the walking, talking fungal leshie.
They introduce themselves to everyone without much fanfare, but mostly with curiosity. "Some just past button stage, others well past sporing stage." Is the only comment they seem to provide at this time.
----
"I like water. Salt water is nice, scares off those fly larvae that make you itchy." Eddie smiles and smells the tea and snacks.

Salera pulls up a chair for Mrs. Crinkle. "If you need extra biscuits or tea I'll get them for you, alright?"
"Oh, why thank you kindly dearie." Mrs. Crinkle's eyes crinkle and twinkle as she interacts with Salera, as if she is thinking of a joke that no one else knows.
Settling into her seat, Mrs. Crinkle daintily sips her tea with a sigh of contentment. "Hmmm... I've missed this. Ahhh..." Her shoulders melt as she relaxes while the others respond to Laela Vost's query. "Oh, don't you worry about us honey. One of the Pathfinders' primary training criteria is learning to work together with a diverse and changing cast of crew members. Give us half an hour to get to know each other, and we can operate like a well oiled machine. Now, about my experience. I've sailed to and from Kortos and managed to pester the sailors quite a bit about what they do and how they do it. I'm a quick learner. Plus..." And here she leans in conspiratorially and winks. "I'm a lot tougher than I look."

Betel Capella's Nature (T): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Eddie's Nature (T): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
"Woah, y'all are pretty strong. You'll do fine. I got this opportunity for alls of ya to liberate some treasure from the Infidius. It's a Chelaxian ship that's off the coast. Y'see, I worked aboard her as part of her crew when she ran aground. The merchandise still on the ship would be my severance pay and help me start my own business. Now you go in and liberate some o' that there treasure and we split it fair n' square. So far, nobody's gone to the wreck, but I figger that when all this wranglin' over n' done with, ev'ry man's gonna try to get that treasure offa the wreck. If y'all agree to muh terms, I'll take y'all on me skiff. Water's choppy and dang'rous like so ya better not be dressed like an anchor with all them heavy armor an' all. So y'all agree? Y'alls ready ta go?"
Pointing the bow of the ship towards the wave and going with the flow of the water prevents capsizing and being knocked over. Sharing this knowledge will provide the party with +1 to saves vs waves later on.
Equal distribution of weight prevents a boat from capsizing.
As you get ready to go, you each have one hero point.

![]() |

Betel nods I could leave my gear in the boat and swim alongside if that will help. And if any one falls out, I could catch them. Oh ... equal distribution of mass in the boat. That's important.

![]() |

"Sounds like a plan." Jiggo goes for a handshake. "We'll have your payment back in no time."
"Salera nor myself wear much armor, so that shouldn't be a problem." Jiggo sits back and then lurches forward with a thought. "Hey, did everyone else on the crew get their payment? Should we get theirs?"

![]() |

"Get the supplies off the ship and out of the sea. Sea won't mind.. what sort of stuff is on the boat?" Eddie questions the former pirate. "What business are you making? How about a fruit tree orchard? Or maybe a composting farm?" Visions of tasty rotting plant material dances in their head.. and stomach.
"Oh, when rowing the boat, please point it at the waves so we don't tip over." They add for effect. How Eddie knows this tidbit is anyone's guess.

![]() |

At the mention of heavy armor, with a twinkle in her eye Mrs. Crinkle dramatically puts a hand to her chest. The clinking of chain mail can be heard by those with keen ears. "Why, I wouldn't dream of wearing heavy armor in a rowboat on rough seas! Let's go, young 'uns!"

![]() |

"Sounds easy enough, maybe there will be some books we can study." Fynn seems a bit excited by the prospect. As long as he doesn't fall in the water.
"Mmmm I love books and paper!"
Deception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Yup, Eddie loves to read books. Yup! /burp

![]() |

"Heehee! Eddie dear, you're a hoot! Flynn sweetie, I'm pretty sure everything there will be soaking wet, but if we find any legible books we'll try to preserve them for you." Mrs. Crinkle reaches over to pat Flynn's hand.

![]() |

You all get into Laela's skiff and she rows out into the harbor.
What’s left of the Infidius lies broken upon a rocky outcropping jutting from the harbor a short distance away. Laela maneuvers her small skiff toward the wreckage; you can assist by rowing. The further out from the docks that you travel, the rougher the waves become. One particularly large wave rocks the boat pretty hard.
I need a reflex save from everyone -- failure means you've pitched over the side.

![]() |

"Wheeee! This is exciting! Heehee!" Mrs. Crinkle giggles merrily as the small craft bounces over the waves. "Ohhh! Here comes a big one! Whoop!"
Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

![]() |

Betel had already stripped down in preparation for a swim and was beginning to wonder if she was safer under the water than in the boat.
reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
If anyone fails, her reaction would be to dive in to rescue them

![]() |

The waves lap Jiggo back and forth. He tries to row as much as he can, but he's more about effort than results.
Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
"This is quite dangerous. Salera, are you alright back there?"
Salera kicks back and relaxes, keeping her gaze on Mrs. Crinkle. She's not even bracing when the wave knocks her overboard.
Salera's Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
"Oh geez! Salera!" Jiggo looks over. "I'll just bring you back once we're safe, alright?" He focuses and tries to dismiss her.
Jiggo will spend an action to Dismiss his eidolon. Pretty sure I suffer the failure effect of the reflex save, but at least we don't have to reel her out.

![]() |

Reflex Save, bonus: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 1 = 21
Eddie rides the waves, enjoying the splashes of water. Their spongy flesh soaking most of it up. "Yes, I am. A hoot." They smile, not quite sure what that means exactly.
"Oh, Salera got that one right in the face. She's going to be angry?" Eddie peers over the gunnel and into the water. "Make sure you keep your boat pointed into the waves. Need help?" Eddie offers up.
Not sure what sorta skills would be rowing a boat in 2e. Eddie has acrobatics is about the closest trained skill I could think of to help. A good athletics maybe from someone?

Salera, the Reformed |

Athletics would be the most likely skill for rowing a boat.
"SONOFA-" the tide quickly scrubs the foul words from Salera's mouth, and Jiggo returns her to her Thinking Room before she gets started.

![]() |

Wow. You all pretty much rocked it! There's no danger to anyone if you're thrown overboard other than getting cold and wet (and maybe subject to Laela's entertainment). The water around the area is pretty calm.
Laela watches in awe as, aside from Salera, none of you get pitched over the side.
"Y'alls plenty tough al'right!"
Laela navigates to the mostly intact bow of the Infidius.
"Here's where I drop ya. Recover whatcha can and bring it back here. I can't stay too close or my boat'll be wrecked and we'll all be stranded here."
She hands you a signal whistle. "Take this. I'll be back in half an hour before the tide comes in. But I'll be close enough that I'll hear that if ya need me to come getcha early."

![]() |

Recovering cargo plays out over 2 phases, each representing 10 minutes of activity.
During each phase, you can attempt one skill check to scavenge or identify items:
Athletics to Swim
Thievery to Disable Device
Perception to Seek
Success means you manage to recover chests, barrels, or other floating items in the murky water.
For the less athletic, you can also make any of the following checks to Recall Knowledge: Arcana, Crafting, Nature, Religion, Society, Lore.
For the Lore check, please describe how it might be applicable before making the check.

![]() |

"Oh! Betel! It's alright, I can bring Salera back." Jiggo shows his hand. "You can tell she's gone because there's no mark on my hand. Let me bring her back to help with the search."
His hand shines anew and the gray-skinned creature known as Salera reappears on deck, still slightly soggy.
"I think we need your help to swim around, honey. Look for any treasure that may have sunk below the surface."

Salera, the Reformed |

Salera finishes squeezing the water out of her curly hair when Jiggo invalidates her efforts. "Sure. Time to get soggy."
Athletics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
That should cover round 1. Pretty sure Jiggo can't aid on a swim check, here.

![]() |

Eddie perches on the wrecked hull of the ship, eyes scanning the area for anything that looks like it would make good 'pirate treasure' "So does this make me a pirate? I'm not sure I've ever thought about being a pirate.." They ponder aloud.
Perception to Seek: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
"What's that over there? Under the seaweed between those rocks. Looks like a wood box. Can you look Betel?"

![]() |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

"Canonbaaaalllllll!!!" The little old lady in the ridiculously enormous red sweater dress takes a surprisingly spry leap off the boat into the water to search for sopping wet treasure.
Athletics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Well, let's be honest: at this point she's more interested in trying to catch everyone's reactions to getting splashed than finding treasure. The dichotomy of an elderly woman acting like a child--and the resulting reactions--are amusing to her.

![]() |

Eddie's eyes grow slightly larger but don't blink. Do they ever blink? That's a good question.
"I give it a 2.5/10, poor form but done with great energy." They do let their eyes linger where the old woman jumped in, just to be sure she surfaces.
"Your flesh looks old but your soul is young. Good!" Eddie keeps looking for loot.

![]() |

"Sppt! Ptoo! Heehee! Come on in, kids! The water's refreshing to old bones and young alike! Oh, and you too Eddie dear! Heehee!" As she treads water, Mrs. Crinkle's "dress" balloons around her like a thick, lumpy algae bloom.
Hopefully the folks in the water roll higher in round 2. Come on double digits!

![]() |

Fynn's eyes go wide as the elderly woman cannonballs into the water. He leans over to make sure she didn't die from the fall as he nervously exits the skiff. "You scared the crap out of me." He laughs as he helps move around a few of the crates.
Athletics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Hero Point Reroll: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
